New torch bought in Australia adds the No. 86 to the start of each of my contacts numbers when I call/message them. So the contact number 04xx yyy zzz becomes 864xx yyy zzz. Being Chinas' country code I am guessing my phone originated in China???? How do I stop the phone from adding the prefix??
View 5 RepliesI am facing a bit of an irritating problem on my samsung galaxy s6. When I go to phone -> 1-9 keyboard and use it for the letters (2=a,b,c; 3=d,e,f, etc.), I can easily find the number I need. The problem is that for most of my contacts, when I click them, a second window pops up, asking me exactly which number for this contact I'd like to dial. Now.... I don't have a second number for any of my contacts.
When I go and check them in the contacts menu, they only show one mobile number per contact. When the window thingy pops up, it always shows multiple options of the same exact number, or maybe the same number with some spacings added / removed between the digits. I am 99% sure that the problem is because of google contacts, viber, whatsapp, etc., but do not know how to fix it without removing the contact from the app.
Suddenly, the SpeedDial numbers, although appear correctly when edited, are prefixed with a "+1" which prevents the calls from being completed.How can I fix it and remove this unwanted prefix, that suddenly appeared there?

View 2 Replies View RelatedAll my contacts are saved with the country code prefix so that when I travel internationally I can dial my contacts directly. However, when I receive a call from one of my contacts calling without the country code prefix, the iPhone doesn't recognise the contact as the number calling. The only way it works is when I save the contact twice - once with and then without the country code prefix. Is there a fix for this?

so, after some battery pull, decided to re-install the original SO. now i can see the name of my carrier and the full power of signal but i'm not able to make/receive phone call or text messages because it says: no service available.

i've bought this 9800 to replace my iphone but i think i'll keep my iphone: with apple a problem like this will be solved calling the support center and receiving a new phone, with the blackberry.. it's better not to know! I can't synch my contact list with outlook using BB desktop software. This seems to have happened after recent software upgrade. When I scroll the Synch options contact and calendar are missing. When I go to Device and Advance Settings and Default Services only my webmail accounts are shown and none of my outlook email accounts. How can I get back to synching with my outlook folder?
View 2 Replies View RelatedOk I have noticed that on the Torch the text tone is the same for everyone even if you assign a ringtone and tone for message for a contact. Before on the 9700 when you received a text, e-mail whatever tone was assigned to that contact came through. I guess that feature is gone.

I have tried backup-restore via desktop software etc... but it's not copying the complete list. Tried to do it at AT&T store but that just duplicated the 425 contacts that I all ready had. After I manually deleted all of the duplicates....Tried again to no avail.

The emails and phone numbers in this list work fine for other models we have (9650,etc.) But users with new BB Torch 9800 can not click on the phone numbers or emails any more. Our provider is ATT. Ive created a list of sub-groups for my fairly extensive contact list, but I can't figure out how to add contacts to these subgroups without having to re-enter the contact info as a "new contact". Is it possible to select from my "All Contacts" list those numbers I want included in a particular subgroup?

I have already installed the new Desktop Manager 6.0 that I downloaded from the RIM site.
I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.
Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.

I have a Verizon iPhone 4S with an international sim unlock and plan on getting a pay-as-you-go sim with a local number when we arrive. The question is, How should I set up the numbers in my contact list? Should they be entered as local numbers or using the country code (+44)?
P.S. Verizon's customer service when I requested the unlock was quite good and they didn't pressure or even ask if I would rather get their international calling plan!
