My facebook app tries to contact some server for updates and sycronization in spite of the fact that I have never used it (never accepted the terms and conditions) and don´t have a facebook account. Does someone know if there is any way to turn off the app or remove it without turning off all data communication for all programs.

I can't seem to find this within app settings or anywhere in the app. Is this no longer available with Lollipop and do I just need to uncheck all of the notification boxes? I did that but I still see my facebook app with notifications that someone has commented, liked or done something else without me opening the app.

Currently, I have to click 'mark prior unopened' in order to erase the yellow mail icon with the red star -- so that the icon doesn't show up in the status bar.
I'd prefer to not see this notification at all. Same with facebook notifications. Haven't found the settings for these.
Is there any way to set the Bold 9700 so I don't see any visual notifications for email?
What I like to do (and have always done with my other, non-blackberry phones) is go outside for a smoke, while listening to some music on my phone, then come back in, send some text messages and maybe make a call, then go out for another smoke, playing the music where I left off. My new bb curve 9360 can't seem to do that. Once I navigate to any other apps or anything, it resets the music player, gets rid of Now Playing and I have to start all over (I try to cycle through all my mp3s on random/shuffle). How can I even get to texting w/o stopping the music. Shouldn't there be a Home button or something (that doesn't stop the music)? I set up facebook. Now how do I stop all the activation sounds every time someone posts something?

View 2 Replies View RelatedOn the app icons for Facebook and Email, I have orange circles with a number in them showing new emails or Facebook notifications. I want to make the orange FB notifications DISAPPEAR. My belief is that since I see that orange # show up so frequently, with every new comment to a FB post, that my device must be pushing notifications and checking FB every 10 minutes, wearing down my battery. So I would like to end that.
I have already:
1.Gone to App Settings > Refresh Interval and said NEVER
2.Gone to App Settings > Notifications and choose INACTIVE
3.Gone to Account Settings > Notifications > Mobile Push and UNCHECKED everything
I have also gone to Device Settings > Applications > Application Manager > Facebook and UNCHECKED Show Notifications.
The same orange circle with number of new emails show on my email icon, but I don't mind that so much. However, if I can disable it, perhaps I can find my way to disable on Facebook.

There are places that tell me I don't have video on my phone in order to view the news clip or whatever.It's not a big deal to me and don't really need it. turn off the facebook "unable to update" in my notifications, without removing facebook entirely.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe only time my phone lags is after I have used facebook (I dont use timescape). The lag goes away if I force close the app (having logged out). Annoyingly, using task killers doesn't kill it. As going to the app menu gets a bit tedious, I rooted my phone so I could remove the facebook app from the system and then downloaded it from the play store. Then I can use the task killer to kill facebook after I have finished using it.

When I delete this from the status bar, it appears again in seconds, even when I'm on wifi or 3g, and using facebook. Last few weeks, I upgraded my phone to Android 2.3.4 build 4.0.2 A.0.42 via Software Update service (Location: Thailand, if applicable) and installed the recent Facebook v 1.8.0 from the market. Now, I'm having a problem with Facebook application. It always shows "force close" for this application and it will automatically re-open the application. I find this error most of the time when update status, check-in places and upload photos. I can't capture screen because "Phone Options" dialog appears behind the 'force close' dialog.I try to remove facebook account from TimeScape and use Facebook for Android from the market instead but still not help. how to fix this.
