I'm trying to figure out how to add smileys in my txt messages. I can see a little smiley face on where you touch to get numbers and punctuation but can't get actual smileys. What I have to do to switch from one to the other?
View 1 RepliesI have an iPhone 5s and my husband has an iPhone 4. We have the same iOS (7.1.1) and use the built in Messages app to send text messages. When I add an emoticon such as the smiling face with heart shaped eyes, my husband gets only an empty speech bubble. Â
I am choosing emoticons from the little world shaped icon beside my microphone, and if I choose the first emoticon - the regular smiling face, he gets that, but most of the others result in the empty speech balloon. Â
He can send me emoticons such as the smiling face with heart shaped eyes, and I receive the text just fine. Why his phone will not receive those texts?Â

I did some digging around and found out that it might be a BlackBerry messenger friend request but when I open messenger there are no updates.
I am brand new to Blackberry - just got a Curve 8530. Playing with it, I found that two of the included "smiley" images for SMS text messages are switched - the emoticon view does not match the graphic & "name" of the picture. The items that are switched are "Straight Face" and "Whew". Is there a way to fix them - so I know which is actually sending within the message?
View 7 Replies View RelatedHis text message gets interrupted halfway through by an old message he sent before (be it a previous message from a few minutes ago or from weeks ago!) It only happens with texts from him, no-one else. I've tried deleting our conversation but it makes no difference. It's getting so frustrating cos I have to keep asking him to text me again and a lot of the time I just get another 'cracked' text!

The bar on the top of the screen between the "select a profile" and the "search magnifying glass" where the notifications pop up not sure what that page is called but in this slide down screen under Text Messages I have a text message that is staying at unread. Even though I have deleted the text message and I've tried everything to try and get it to go away. Today I have a Blackberry Messenger Message that won't delete as well. Does anyone else have this problem and figure out a way to refresh and get ride of it? I've tried turning the device on and off a few times but doesn't fix the issue.

When I clicked on the message icon, it would open to the full inbox, just not the conversation with the new text message. I want to know if there is a way I can do this with my iPhone as well.

However, I cannot delete text message conversations in the 2.3.3 stock rom. This is what is happening: when I attempt to delete a message it goes through the cycle but the message still appears with a subject "no subject", a date of "12/31/1969" and a time "19:00" in Handcent SMS. In Messaging I have opened blank messages and pressed delete conversation and then confirm to delete, but the result is message deleted. When I review all my conversations, the message I just deleted still appears in messaging. I have cleared both the Messaging and Handcent SMS application's data and cache. Rebooted the phone and guess what; all the conversations remain. What gives..

The sms text dial pad appears in all the menu pages if the menu button (given at the bottom right corner of the phone) gets pressed a little longer. This happens during incoming call also and the dial pad wont disappear even if the back button or any other button gets pressed. Till this pad disappears, I am not able to pick an incoming call.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI purchase the lumia 900 and overall I'm very happy with it. My suggestion is to make an option in the settings under keyboard for 'show emoticon key'. Most people don't use/need 50 smiley face options, and I'm perfectly fine with typing : and ) every once in awhile when necessary.I'm left handed, and use my left thumb to hit the space bar when texting/emailing. About 50% of the time i accidentally hit the emoticon key and start typing all sorts of smiley faces, then have to hit the backspace key. I lose about 5-10 seconds every text message.
