Xperia Pro/Neo/V/L :: Neo V Weird Screen Issue After ICS Update?
Jun 8, 2012
I recently bought a SE Xperia Neo which was running 2.3.4 without any problems.I updated to 4.0.4 using SUS from my computer. After updating to 4.0.4 ICS I am experiencing the following issue.Quite frequently (once or twice a day or so) the screen stops waking up. That is if screen is in sleep mode and if I press the Power/Wake Up/Lock-Unlock button, the screen does not come up. Only lights below Back-Home-Menu button at the bottom comes up.In this condition, the phone is on, not like phone restarts or shuts down. If I call my number, phone starts ringing and vibrating but display doesn't come up.The only way I need to follow is to pull up battery, reinsert and restart the phone. This is really being headache.I have already done update once again using SUS (or reinstall) but the problem is there. This problem wasn't there when I was using 2.3.4 for about a week.Is anybody else experiencing the same problem
I am new to this forum and I have got a huge problem. A week ago, my bb Torch started to act weird when I needed The keyboard. The screen went black, or The screen got mirrored. but everything still worked when The keyboard was not sliced open. Yesterday, my bb just went black when i opened The keyboard and this time, the screen stayed black. I think there is something wrong with the software on the chip that controles the visual for the screen. Because even when i had mirrored view, it still responded on the touchscreen, but the things you saw just didnt match with What you touched. What can I do? I bought my bb online, so i cant go back to the store.
I noticed 3 strange black icons with a question mark on them: music, pictures & videos. I can't delete them but I can hide them. I want them gone forever! They work as links 2 the app they represent.
Has anyone else seen some white distortion across the screen right above where you swipe? Its really noticeable on bright backgrounds. I thought my screen was just getting old but when they replaced my phone because of the restart issue(didn't know it was on OS bug) it was still there! I am also having an issue where my volume buttons stop working about every three days, I have to restart the phone to fix it. This has happened with my old one and the replacement.Adroid version 2.3.3System version 4.5.596.mb870.verizon.en.usmeid a00000227b76bf
Ever since the new update, about 30% of the time when I lock my screen with the power button and turn it back on, I don't get the "swipe to unlock. It's like it never locked at all. I have only had my xperia z2 for a few months. Before the new update everything was working fine.
To start with, I think the 4.4.4 update was very cool! I like how the icons looks, I can get used to the size.
I also like the Ultra Stamina Mode, it can become useful if need be but not in our daily life...the Stamina Mode is enough! I like how the watch looks now! Everything seems to be working fast and fluent...but there's a little camera thing that I don't understand...The mode where you get to see your own face (using the front camera) and the the background because you also use the back camera...I tried it today but the circle in which you face has to be, it's too small...no close pics allowed...it has to be like a "selfie-distance" to fit in it...too bad...
But then...my question was not about that...Since I updated the phone, a thin bar with a loop on it (I take it a searching bar) appears on the screen but I can't seem to make it work...I've tried to press it once, twice (like you do with the PC mouse) or even to press it long but nothing seems to happen, the loop changes its color from white to blue but nothing else...how am I supposed to make it work? or what is its use?
I have a question: I recently my Xperia mini pro (the internal name is K17) get back from a repair process. In this mechanical keyboard is repaired, the way the phone is about 5 months old. After I get back the phone, I've been updating it with PC Companion to the latest Android 4 ICS, which is offered by SE here in Germany. After the update I now have the problem that the phone at least once a day, usually several times the system or maybe the screen seems to freeze. Mostly it reacts no more (the screen stays black), sometimes you can press the power button and the lights of the back and menu button lights up (the screen is still black). Only removing the battery bring the phone back to work again. After a quick phone call to the Supporthotline from SE I performed again with the PC Companion a repair installation with the Android 4 ICS. This has not solved the problem. Has anyone else experienced this? How can I fix it? Is this a hardware problem with the screen or is it the ICS update? Is there an official way back to the 2.3 Gingerbread Stock ROM without send in the phone to SE again and without losing the warranty?
I just updated my Xperia Mini St 15 i into ICS but yet to find how to go for a screen shot . Hold Power Button + Volume Down key Not working for the same function.
Dear Sony Ericsson Support,Today i've updated mine Xperia Mini Pro to the latest ICS version of Android and the touch suddently stopped workingI'm sure that is Software fault and not Hardware fault, cause with 2.3.5 it was working.Any ideas how to repair my phone?I need to send it to a Service Centre?
my phone was working perfectly fine until i upgraded it to ICS. Now i'm not able to unlock my phone at all at certain times. If i try to unlock i see a blank screen with the backlight on. Unable to access homescreen at all. If i leave the phone for sometime and then if i try unlocking again it works fine. Having this problem with latest version available in my country (4.0.4). I tried reinstalling the firmware using update service still no effect.
I bought my Xperia Ray, connected it to my computer (PC companion) and started updating the software of the phone. The first update was O.K., but during the second one maybe I did something wrong and now the phone does not start. I remove the battery, start the phone, it vibrates but never starts - for half an hour. When I connect it to PC companion, it says that I should remove the battery, start the phone and connect it again.... The screen is dark, nothing happens.
Checking my phone, it told me there was an update available. I used the PC connect software to instal the update, following all instructions exactly. The update was applied and the phone shut off. I restarted the phone as instructed, and after a few minutes the update appeared to be successful. However, when I tried to use the phone I discovered that I could not unlock the screen! My first thought was to restart the phone, but without the touch screen, I can't even turn it off! It seems like my only option at this point would be to remove the battery to kill the power, replace the battery, and try restarting the phone.
My xperia-play has been updated to Android 2.3.3 by pc companion from 2.3.2, however, the "home screen" is still upright↑ instead of horizontal ↔ if I circumvolve the phone. In Sony Ericsson the new update will give : New themes and Landscape mode for your home screen. I don't get them.
I have sony z3 dual. My screen freezes all the time.what should i do. I applied the last software update today..was so happy that ussd code error got solved. But now this screen error.. So many errors after updates.. When I try to call screen blinks and volume is still very low and..etc ....

After last update my screen doesn't respond when I touch the right hand side of the screen. The only way to type text is in horizontal position. When I try to draw with Sketch app, there was a vertical line in the right side that don't respond on my touch and stays blank. I didn't drop the phone, glove mode is not on, e.t.c.
Today i downloaded the update to Android 5.1.1 and now the automatic screen rotation on my xperia z3 does not work, in both, the "normal" and the safety mode. In my settings the automatic screen rotation is activated. What is the reason could be and how i can fix it?
After my phone being update with android 2.1 my screen become weird..its vertical alignment has been wrong. The pic u can see by click this link... [URL].
I am pretty frustrated now. My mailbox is acting up weird: It keeps on receiving mails w/o contents, sender, and it would show some weird sent date (ie: 12/31/00). And it will not let me delete it. But when I go to "All Mail" then come back to Inbox, those unknown mails would disappear. Does this happen to you guys?
after updating ICS and I had some problem bout the screen because after 20 seconds idle status then I pressing now the home or power button the screen become blank..efore u enter the lock screen u had to press power button 6 times or more than...I'm so dissappointed cause everytime I had a call I didn't see who are calling I had to press more than six times the power button to show the screen
I am just updating my xperia pro to the new update ICS. And when it comes to the stage of "PREPARE" its loading, but then halfway through, the update suddenly stops and go back to the home screen of PC companion, I don't know what to do, I keep on repeating it but doesn't seem to pass by the stage of prepare.
I would want to bring an issue to Sony's and all the Z2 users' notice that I am trying to observe a display burn in issue on pressing the power button while unlocking the phone a lot of times and this usually happens when I have set the brightness to adaptive. When I press the power button to unlock the screen, the colors burn for a second and the backlight comes to life with all the real colors the next second.
Its been happening quite a lot now and now I am atleast able to figure out that adaptive brightness is the culprit here. I am not sure is this another bug that sony needs to fix in lollipop or what it is? But just to mention, I have recently clean formatted my phone using the repair phone method on Sony PC companion and it has not worked to solve this issue. Lollipop is seriously making life bitter in a lot of ways than being sweet atleast for Z2 users like me. We would love to see the almost flawless Z2 back as it was on Kitkat 4.4.4.
I just purchased a new Sony Xperia Play & I love the phone minus a few things and one of them is the screen brightness, I just updated to the latest OS and It is very annoying when the screen is so dark until you hold it up to the light and then it is bright again, This was to be the replacement of my X10 and if I could get the screen brightness issue fixed I would be a happy camper. I searched and see there is only one fix for it right now and that is to root your phone and apply the fix but I do not want to attempt to do that quite yet. If anyone has heard if Sony plans on fixing this or if there is another way around it please let me know for I am still looking at the new Samsung Galaxy II Infuse 4G which was my other option other than the Play.
After update to latest firmware today my x10 mini pro cannot load home screen. It come out errorSorry! The application Home Screen (process com.sonyericsson.homescreen) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
