its not working properly..wifi unstable..all apps taking long time to open...widgets cause phone hangs...unexpected shut downs...i really dont know what to do..

My BB Curve 9300 was doing okay until last night when it started to act weird. At first I thought I was imagining it but then the cursor kept on moving upwards whenever i move the trackpad. This happens intermittently. I have also noticed earlier that when I went out of my house and used it with the wind blowing and the sun glaring, it moved by itself and keeps on going upwards.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI bought an E72 last weekend, because I needed a phone that has long battery life. I have to say I'm really disappointed with Software on the E72. My last 2 smart phones were Treo 650 and Apple iPhone(s). I'm still hanging onto my iPhone after this whole experience with the E72, and I'll still keep my E72 and hold out Hope that Nokia will improve. Given Palm Os not Web OS over the current Symbian OS on my E72 I'd take Palm OS.The problem is not the Hardware, Nokia phones are gorgeous infact I would say better looking than RIM's or HTC for devices with physical keyboards. The problem is Software, having used the E72 for about a day and a half I realized that my iPhone didn't really come with an instruction manual... after trying to figure out how to configure the E72 I resorted to Google and the Manual that came with the E72, there are still some unanswered questions.
The main problem with the software is that there is NO flow... when I use it, it feels like the people who developed it each when in their own direction. For example updating software... the first thing I did when I started the phone is I plugged it into the charger, and tried to check for software updates... I found out via google there is a separate way to update firmware and actual software the SWUpdate program doesn't do firmware. Why not? and if it doesn't why don't you tell the user? to update the software you can download it via pc and upload it, punch in some key combo on the device and check for over the air updates.Another problem is the software introduces the idea of "profiles" fantastic something I wish the iPhone had...there are different ways to change profiles "Mode" (work/personal) "Destination" (for connection profiles) are these 2 things linked??? I don't know it doesn't feel like it... I thought if I created a work destination and a home destination I can link it to a mode. I'm not sure if I can or can't do that. This leads to the problem of Applications always BUGGING you when it needs to connect to the internet. Why can't apps be smart and use the data connections set in the DESTINATION based on priority?
User interface of even the Nokia apps is terrible... for example the Nokia Messaging application that connects to Ovi, Gtalk, Yahoo and MSN.... the Tabs at the top of the screen to switch between services takes up 1/3 of the screen space WHY? Why can't you just combine all the lists or atleast provide an option to combine all the user lists into 1 big list?Other problems that I had to google... when trying to update the OVI Store application I got a certificate error during the install process... The root cause of the problem was that the date/time was set incorrectly on the phone it took a good 30-40 minutes of googling to find that.Is there a way to quit programs in your task manager or application switcher without actually switching to them?The file manager for seeing files on your phone and SD Card are in OFFICE again what kind of logic is that?
I just got an n900 and very disappointed .I can't download music to it via the PC suite I have downloaded some small apps and themes to my PC that I can't install through the application installer- it says that there is no memory left to install a tiny app when i have 20+GB available
Im used to my N95 doing it no problemthe whole phone seems unfinished - a half assed job and im reading posts from people with the same issues saying "nokia is going to bring out a PC suite for the n900 that will work" and "OVI will be working soon" that date back to February
I also fully charged it overnight its been on for 4 hours and the battery is nearly flat and I have only plugged in the mini USB thingo 3 times and the input socket is really loose.No EQ on the music player?? and no ability to edit the track names/artists in the menu.The N95 not only had EQ but stereo widening and other cool features - What a step down.i can't believe it - it almost 100% useless
I have to admit that I'm really disappointed about the quality of the mail client on the E72. I assumed that the E72 as a business device will cover e-mail, the most important business app, in a satisfying way which is not the case.
The datasheet states that IMAP idle is supported which as far as I can tell is not the case. Whatever settings you try to change the connection to the IMAP server is terminated after some minutes and no notification on new emails will take place.
In addition you are able to define multiple connection points with priority but you are not able to use them by the mail client in this way. You either have the possibility to set only one specific connection point or you have to select the desired on each time the device tries to connect to your mail servers.
What I expect is to specify different WLAN access points and UMTS of my provider with different priorities and the device is using whatever is available at my current location taking priorities into consideration.
It's a pain to see how easily and self-evident all these work on the iPhones of my business partners.I'm a loyal Nokia user since the early days of mobile communication but I have to admit that this time I seriously consider defecting to the dark side.
I ordered a phone through a line that was upgrade eligible for another line. They said that when I get the phone I call AT&T and get the SIM card ready to be activated for the other line.I called them up and gave them the "IMEI" number. They said that that iPhone 4 was now associated with my other line. However, when I plugged it into iTunes, it still said the original line. The customer service rep insisted that when it was activated it would activate on the correct line.Sure enough, it didn't. It activated on the original line - now I am stuck without an iPhone 4 - I don't have an AT&T store where I live so I can't just get a replacement SIM card. The original lines phone is now deactivated and activated with MY iPhone 4. I now have to wait for them to ship out a SIM card which will take another WEEK.Because of AT&T I am now left without a phone, my iPhone 4 is now activated on another line, and thus have to wait a week to get it fixed.Thank you AT&T for screwing up again, further proving you to be the worst wireless carrier I have ever been a customer of.

I had called them up and had an RMA set up to have it fixed.In the box, I had included a typed note stating the problem, stating the phone is unlocked and that I would like it returned unlocked, and a simple request to remove dust from under the screen (since they would have the phone apart anyways)
Anyways, when I get the unit back, they changed motherboards (new IMEI number), re-locked the phone and didn't clean the dust out from under the screen. I called HTC support on Monday and explained how the phone was unlocked when sent in and because it is a different IMEI number than the one that I purchased, T-Mobile wouldn't supply the unlock code. The woman on the phone said it could take 48 hours for them to get back to me with the code.I called HTC and they said it could take up to 72 hours to get the code. Called yesterday. Was told that the guy had emailed the support team directly and I would have it by this morning. Called and they said it would take 7-14 days and it would be text-messaged to me. I'm really, really ****ed off. They didn't read the note I included and wrapped the phone in and they are taking forever to get the code to me. T-Mobile isn't any help because I had initially bought the phone and used it as a pre-paid. Closed the account there a few months back.
How do I prevent Update Manager showing me recent the firmware update? My device is working fine at the moment and there is no reason to change this.
View 9 Replies View RelatedFinally the ICS update has become available for my phone (SI 1253-7151) -PC Companion pops up a message about the new update. If I click "Update", PC Companion starts downloading the update, finishes the download and says "Preparing computer for program updates".
Then it proceeds to "Unable to install or start components for update of phone system" and my phone does not get updated.Then I have tried Sony Update Service, but now I can't even start it properly; the program crashes right after opening it. It just says "Synchronizing" and then "An unexpected error has occured. The application will shut down." so I never get any possibility to see why.Again, my phone does not get updated. Since both programs crash there must be a serious problem with the downloaded files (and they're probably shared between the programs?).Apparently I'm not the only one experiencing it; I can see in a Norwegian forum that other people have the same problem - and in the original thread that you have hidden (!).
PS. The original thread was not mine; I just replied to it since I had the exact same problem. Regarding the new "moderation strategy" I believe that the above question is not rude, it's not spam - and reposting the question is necessary when the issue has not been resolved and the original thread has disappeared..
I received a message on my XPeria Mini Pro about the 4.1.B.0.587 Update. In fact, I can not install it. When I start the PC Companion software, it finds the connected Phone. Then I click on update. In the following window I click "Accept" and then the software should prepare the PC for the update. But after one second it stops and returns to Start without any comment. When I start Sony Mobile Update Service then it checks for new updates. As soon as the check is over, the program terminates without any comment. Is there a third way to upgrade?

I was trying to update my X10 for pinch zoom It says certification error and the updates getting disconnect. I checked my system firewall and my modem firewall too everything is perfect. And I tried with my friend's machine there too I am getting same error.
I contacted Sony Ericsson customer care regarding this, they replied go and update ur phone in service center. Too bad they didnt tell me why I was not able to update my phone.
My xperia neo SI number is 1246-9893 purchased in UK and using in India right now. Some how I was managed that PC Companion recognizes my neo tried for update.After multiple error messages from PCC i.e "unable to connect to server" it showed software is upto date.I searched other thread and SI number is still not exits.Would like to know delay of providing 4.0.4 update for some SI numbered phones are because of considering fixing bugs raised by users who has updated their neo phones?It seems people are facing issues from every corner of phone with ICS update.Are these things are considered while providing ICS update for remaining NEO users ?

The Sony PC Companion has started showing that an update is available for my xperia pro as soon as i connect it. I happily selected the update option and on the first attempt it downloaded the update which took more than 10 mins in my case. Then it reboots the phone in the flash mode i believe and when it's time to install the update, simply comes out with an error that no update is available for your phone.

I deleted the file in the Update Service folder, re-downloaded, and reinstalled so many times, tried setting the PCC to check for updates every time phone is plugged in(which it said on the SE website, but isn't an option at all.
