May 4, 2010When i click on my apps or games menu it says operation failed. i was looking through the forums and found a solution except that solution was for when you could actually access the folder and only when you select a specific app/game it said operation failed. i cant access the folder at all. is there anyway at all to fix this problem for free without having to resort to that wotanserver thing? im not being cheap, i just think its rubbish to be charged anything at all to fix a problem like this when it is the manufacturers fault for selling faulty phones which all have a common problem which isn't caused by a users ill-treatment. and another question, why cant i seem to find software to flash it myself without that wotan thing? i mean, surely its just software that you run. someone must have cracked it?

Nov 19, 2010My w595 is not opening any jar/jad files! Whenever I try to install any java app or game, it says "operation failed". I've reinstalled the firmware, the FS, and even tried the MASTER RESET on it...nothing worked! It used to work fine, one day I copied a lot of java games on it and its been like that ever since even after all the resetting.

Sep 1, 2010I have just started using a W980i, phone works fine, it is on the O2 network, when I am in a 2g signal area i can connect to the internet, use google maps etc, but, when i am in a 3G HSDPA area, identified by the 'H' symbol on screen the phone will not connect to internet, i keep getting a 'connection error' come up, I put the same sim card into a Motorola and it worked fine, so it has to be a setting on the Sony phone, (i have also recieved all current software updates, and the connection settings from o2 & sony, direct to the phone)

Jul 2, 2010I've had my Satio for a few months now and its been working just how i would imagine it too. Accept from today I have tried to send texts but then find that they are waiting in the outbox saying it will try to resend the message again in a few minutes. I have tried to send a text to other contacts to see if it was a problem with the other person but this still happens. The message wont actually send. I sometimes receive a text saying that "You have a message waiting but your inbox is full" and it says that I should delete my inbox to create space. So i now have an empty inbox and still receive this text... Lastly I have tried to update my phone but this still hasn't fixed this problem! Is there anyway of fixing this?

Jun 10, 2010I've been having problems connecting my W580i to my computer via usb cable (it is an original sony Ericsson cable). It used to work fine, but now my computer gives me a "Device has malfunctioned. Please reconnect or replace the device".I have all the proper drivers installed for it but it still doesn't make a difference. I also tried using 3 other cables, and 4 different computers, but it still doesn't work. I think it's a problem with the fast port, and i tried cleaning it with ispropyl alcohol and cotton but it still doesn't work. I even tried using a needle to get some of the residue off the fast port and it still doesn't work.

Sep 1, 2010While in playback from playlist, tracks, authors etc phone will display failed and not go onto next song. Using 8gb M2 memory card. Have full formated memory card. Have placed music in root directory or card and in music directory. If you try to play filed song again redisplays failed. However you can forward to next song and it will play. I have tried many combinations and it still fails after each song.

Sep 3, 2010My phone keeps coming up with error Indexing of files failed due to lack of memory. Delete one or more files of your choice. I have deleted files but the error is still coming up. This seemed to occur after storing a large amount of data on my 8GB M2 card. I have tasken the card out but the phone still has error. Tried updating software but it says it is the latest. Also done a Reset settings from Master reset - error still occurs. Everytime I switch on phone the free memory is sometime 10MB. 6.1MB or 4.9MB.

Aug 31, 2010I am trying to control few SE mobile models such as W595, W705 and more in remote via serial module (Hyper Terminal and others). After a period of time where things went smoothly I ran into 2 major problems:
1. Only the first device is installed correctly on the pictures. All other devices identified as "Other devices” and it takes a lot of time (more than 10 minute) till the second device driver are installed.
2. When I run an automation test which communicate with the SE device via serial (using the comport identified in the device manager as management) suddenly the device stops response to the serial commands from any serial tool (my application, Hyper Terminal, etc). What I see is that the device remain identified in the device manager but doesn't response. When I close the serial session and reopen it I get the response of the previous command.

Sep 30, 2010I bought the Spiro about a week ago and immediately bought a memory card so that I could store my music on there. The phone did not come with a USB cable (which I find a bit cheeky as people are expected to pay for a USB cable AND a memory card if they want to use it for it's Walkman function - no wonder it seemed like a bargain price!) SO I bought a memory card (SD Micro with an a larger 'adaptor' memory card to put it in my laptop) but not a usb cable as I can't afford it. However, I was told that I could put music files onto the card from my laptop, put the card in the phone and access them from there.
Now I have done this, I have ripped the music from a CD, saved as MP3, transferred to the memory card, put the card in the phone, located files on the phone but they won't play!!! It just keeps saying 'playback failed' - whether I play through Walkman or File Manager. I have been looking at the FAQs online but there is nothing that is offering me a solution to this problem. I have also contacted Sony Ericsson Support but have heard nothing back yet. I bought the Spiro for its simplicity but it seems I may have made the wrong choice. So as I see it I have shelled out £50 for a phone and £20 for memory card which I cannot currently use.

Oct 26, 2010Had the W995 for about a month now and after a week it started playing up. At first it occasionally wouldn't let me make calls and would just come out with 3 beeps and return to the contact list. Then it started to become more frequent until it started to not let me answer any calls. when I press accept call or slide open the phone it just hangs up on the person instead. This is actually starting to make a lot of people angry at me now as they think I am just repeatedly hanging up on them, and I have to spend a good chunk of my day explaining whats going on through text (which works fine). I haven't successfully talked to anyone with my phone for days now, and I know its not a signal issue as I have had full many of the times I have received or made calls.

In the menu there is a icon called App Shop and when I access it an error message "failed to download catalogue" appears whether by wifi or internet connection. I realise that the playnow website is for getting apps ,games,music etc so is this app shop function no longer in use? or do I have a problem? If this app shop icon is indeed defunct then is there a way to delete it ? I have updated all my software and also used the update phone function to check firmware and all was ok.

Aug 1, 2010There's a firmware compatibility issue of W595 with HPM-85 handsfree. Everytime I connect HPM-85 handsfree to my W595 for listening to music, the walkman application pops up with an error message saying "Playback Failed", also, sometimes the handsfree gets disconnected automatically from the firmware and shows a message asking, "Continue Playback Through Speakers" (the firmware disconnects the handsfree automatically even when the handsfree is plugged into the phone).
I checked my HPM- 85 handsfree on other Sony Ericsson phones and turned out that it works fine with no problems mentioned above. Also, I looked up using the handsfree which came with the phone to make sure if my phone had any issue, and it had no problems as above. So I guess its a firmware compatibility issue with HPM-85. I request you to get this issue notified to the Sony Ericsson firmware developers team to fix this bug asap and release a new firmware update.

Oct 16, 2011my x3 - 02 phone that keeps on restarting is that I am also having a problem with this phone wherein I cant use the phone memory in my contacts.
This is the problem, I am using the phone memory for my phone and when it is set to that It will automatically switch over to SIM memory and if you will switch it back to phone memory it will show "operation failed" in the menu " name" and my favorite contact will not work either. the names in my contact will not appear. After that, I have tried to reset the phone and it will work in few hours but will have the same problem again and of course i will reset it again and will set the phone again to my preferred settings. I have tried to update the firmware and still doing the same thing.
