inserted sim card with all contacts messages etc from previous phone (Nokia 6233) and no trace of them on my contacts on the Elm (new, received today). Checked out support but no success - am sure this must be a simple problem to solve - anyone out there have the answer?

Today, I find that there is a problem whilst scrolling through my contacts stored on my phone (not SIM Card). After opening my contacts list from the "home" screen, the contacts list displays. Then, as I scroll down through them to the first one beginning with"C", the display reverts immediately to the "home" screen and then reopens the list starting from "A". If I reverse scroll, I can scroll up through the list and, when I reach first (top) "C" again, the display screen reverts immediately to the "home" screen but this time stays there! There is not a problem when I scroll through the SIM card-stored contacts.

Today, I have spent hours and hours trying to "add" my Contacts via the Sim Card to the Vivaz. It wont work and I keep getting a Fashing Envelope to say the Sim Card is full I have 4 messages from my old phone in the message box. Then I noticed the applications I had installed in the memory card are not longer displayed on the screen, and when I try to take a photo it says there is no memory card and that they will be stored in the phone's memory. I bought a new SIM card and now when I receive SMS' it always saves them to SIM memory not to the Phone Memory.I want to save them messages to the phone memory because the SIM can only store a few messages. What I have tried to do:I have done a Phone Repair via PC Suite.I have gone to Menu -> Messaging -> Messages -> Settings -> Save to (Selected Phone memory).These still haven't solved my problem.

And it is already damaged to my SIM also (SIM was worked perfectly when I have this problem). So I bought a new SIM and insert it and again my phone gave me same error. But my new SIM is work properly in other phones now also. I already updated the firmware of the phone. But still it not detecting the SIM.

A friend suggested that it may just need updating, which made sense because I'd been getting update notifications, just hadn't got round to hooking my ohone up to my laptop. So I did just that and installed the 'companion' but when I try to update, it's asking me to insert a memory card. I've never taken it out! Not once. I then have to turn my phone off ad back on again for everything to reappear in my memory card folder. But then if I try to save something again to my memory card the cycle starts again and I get the "Empty Folder" message once again.

My card reader is able to detect it, and i can access it through my phone while it's connected in file transfer mode. However, my phone says there is no memory card inserted, and my computer is unable to detect the card when the mobile is connected in phone mode. I've tried formatting it in both FAT and FAT32 with several different cluster sizes, but it makes no difference. Would appreciate some input!

Somewhere down under the topic 'Memory', they'd mentioned that 'on the memory card and it is of class 8. In many menus you can see some sluggishness if you use the card from the box. When you change the card the speed goes up dramatically, so I strongly recommend doing this trick.'
The card that came with my Satio is a class 2! which apparently is the slowest!

I too have noticed the lag in the picture gallery and at places where the album art gets displayed. Can someone confirm with me if they have used a class 10 card say 16gb and if they have seen any improvement? If it works, I am planning on getting one.

Yet it won't reformat the Micro SD. Plug it into my computer and it recognizes it as a 32GB card. MediaGo recognizes it as a 2gb card. All software, phone and mediago has been updated.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Sony Ericsson W595, on Vodafone can not read my memory card. It was working properly until last night when I clicked on Media & Photos, and I was told I had no pictures. I went to file manager and onto the memory card files and it said 'no files'. Does anybody know how to fix this or what is wrong with it? My phone memory is still normal and everything else functions properly, except for my memory card. I updated it and I even checked if its placed in properly but nothing seems to help.
