First I'm not all that sure I'm in the right place for this post. My apologies if it's not! The phone is a Samsung SGH-A257 aka Magnet. My question is there any way to get into the phone if you've forgotten the phone lock number? Do you have to reset the entire phone? If so, how is that done? I'm researching this for a friend so please forgive my ignorance.

I have tried to use Sony PC Companion but for that you need to have your screen unlocked and I can't unlock it because I don't know the pattern. I have also tried to enter a code in the emergency call section to try unlock it and it didn't work.

I did a hard reset after removing battery for 10 minutes, and the phone was runing for some time - the lock code remained unkown but it booted, before it wanted the lock code to boot off, but after this my stupid head decided to update the phone - causing it to restart, and even worst now it not only again ask for the unknown lock code at boot, it also can't hard reset by the Green key,Red key, camera button switch on method + 10 minutes w/o battery. I can provide the IMEI from the box, if it will be of any use.

For first time ever i changed keypad lock code and now can't remember it. It have used up 5 out of 6 attempts and am now on last attempt,
I cannot lose all my data. Is there anyway on this earth to reset keypad lock or get more than 6 attempts.
So my friend changed my lockscreen passcode and neither of us remember it. Is there a way to change it or something because I need my phone and it's pretty much useless now.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI often switch the feature to have to slide the screen lock to use the phone on or off. It's currently off and I can't find the menu item to turn it on again! Where was it again? I've got a standard Motorola Defy 2.2.By the way - the only reason I'm always switching it around is because when I'm expecting a lot of calls/texts, I turn it on. Because when I get a text and the phone's in my pocket, I often press something when taking it out as getting a text/call unlocks the screen.For the rest of the time - I find it irritating to have to press the power button and then slide the screen - why both? It's not like it's hard to accidentally press the power button on the Defy!In a way - that "in pocket detection" option sounds ideal but I found it kept cutting in when I didn't want it to.Maybe I can do something with that "tasker" app so that when I press the power button, it unlocks the screen.where is that screen lock option again?

ive had the s2 now for a day and a half and when i transfered my sim card into my phone it didnt contain any numbers so im prepared to manually enter them all. however with adding my email accounts and facebook alot of my contacts have appeared but i dont want them all. ive got it to only show contacts added to my phone so i have three entries in yhe phonebook but texts and calls are picking up the names from my syncd contactsif i remove the accounts from contacts settings accounts , does this delete all the details from yhese accounts so will my email contacts be syncd and removed from my address books on my email account

My stepdaughter has a Samsung Impression and she forgot her password to get into her phone. As a result, her phone won't let you past the phone lock screen.
I've tried removing the battery and entering *2767*3855#, but it just say "unsupported character" when I hit the # key. I even tried *2767*2878# and it says the same thing, "unsupported character".
How can I get into this phone? To make matters worse, the calibration on the touch screen is so off that it's virtually unusable in the portrait position.
I have upgraded my SGS2 to 2.3.6 last month, but noticed this issue in the last couple of weeks or so.When I press the phone lock key (which is on the right side) the phone is going to idle mode (screen goes black) but when I press the home key or lock key again, I can see that my phone is not locked.

I've decided to glue a piece of metal onto the back of my phone, and attach a speaker magnet behind my dash. It holds rather well, but I've read much about people saying the magnet can damage the screen. If it's behind my dash, opposite of the front, does it still do any damage?
