I have upgraded my SGS2 to 2.3.6 last month, but noticed this issue in the last couple of weeks or so.When I press the phone lock key (which is on the right side) the phone is going to idle mode (screen goes black) but when I press the home key or lock key again, I can see that my phone is not locked.

I have had the fingerprint lock in place since I got my phone.
Yesterday the screen lock disabled by itself and no password was needed to get on phone. In addition, the Unlock effect "Water droplet" turned on.
I forget my Samsung Galaxy S5 pattern lock. So. I can not use my phone. How can I remove pattern lock.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have PhoneShare on my Series 9 laptop and installed the app on my SGS2. Fantastic tool! then I upgraded to ice cream sandwich and now I can't connect either by scanningthe QR or using the previous successful connection.The PC version generates the barcode, the phone reads it successfully and reads "preparing phoneshare", I get a connection PC reads "connecting to smartphone" then "retrieving data from address book" appears on PC app, finally "poneshare ready" on the PC. The connection is not established though and the icons on the PC remained greyed out. The message on the phone app remains "preparing phoneshare" and after 10-20 minutes hangs.I have reinstalled the PC and phone apps to no avail. Is anyone else getting this? Is it a known/unrecognised bug on ICS?

I've tried charging, taking the battery and sim card out but nothing. theres no lights of sound or anything - no life at all !!!!

View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter I updated my Samsung edge to lollipop 5.1.1 , it seems that the parallax effect or the 3D effect has stopped working. I know that if I hold on the home screen and click the wallpaper settings, I get a little toggle which switches the motion effect on/off. But what ever I do it still makes no difference to the home screen. it still stays the same. Is there something that I am missing or can I downgrade to lollipop 5.0?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am dissatisfied with the speed of my SGSII. It is rooted (still with the yellow triangle) and everything else works OK. However, I can't find a meny where I can lock the phone to 3G. I only have EDGE which gives me very low speeds.
Do I need to get rid of the triangle first? I haven't quite figured out how to do that despite many items in the discussions - which kernel do I use, whereto do I download it with ODIN? Is there a country specific kernel to use (Sweden for me)?
I have set my securtiy pin number I know what it is but want to turn it off so I do not have one at all.

The clock still keeps time, but the weather icon on the right hand side does not show the current weather, will not update, nor will it allow me to touch the widget and enter into the settings/different cities. It was working fine up until about a week ago. I've tried restarting my phone and removing/re-positioning the widget, but no luck. It can't be uninstalled as it came with OS.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung S6 Edge. Every time I turn on GPS, either High Accuracy or Battery Saver.. whenever I lock my phone... i lose that GPS signal. Everytime time I wake it back up or unlock it..i will see a "searching for location", then a "location found". This happens for ALL application, Google Maps, Verizon Navigotor, MapMyRun, etc. This is very frustrating as I use these apps all the time and I cant keep my phone 'unlocked' as then the screen is active and I would accidently click things.
ADDITIONALLY, after using the GPS, I will then shut off the location feature and then my phone will continually say "searching for location", even with location off. I close all my current applications etc.. and it still says searching. This message does not go away until i turn back on location or restart my phone.
When I go to location settings, i see "recent location requests" of "Google Play services" and Location Services of "Google Location History".. that is it!
I am about to the point of wiping out my phone and starting over. (which i dont want to do). I have not battery saver or app killers downloaded on my phone so that cant be it.
I've tried turning off the screen lock pattern recognition by Settings -> Location and security and making sure Use visible pattern is unchecked ...
but the screen still locks and when I try to unlock it it shows the patern recognition dots .
I somehow managed to change my screenlock password, it used to be a four-digit code.I had the phone in my pocket for a while and after that I can't get in.s there anything I can do besides reseting to factory settings? If I connect the phone to my computer I can't reach any data on the phone so I can't save pictures and stuff like that so I'm not very keen on reseting the whole thing. read somewhere that I might be able to use my gmail-account but I don't have that option. When I type in the wrong password five times it just says I have to wait for 30 seconds. Over and over again..

I cant change my screen lock setting (either to swipe, pattern or finger print), currently it is in pin setting. It shows disabled by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyway, last night I set my alarm as I normally do before bed and this morning I over slept by a disgusting amount because somehow all of my apps had spontaneously crashed while I was asleep! The force close notification kept coming up for a number of different applications before I was forced to simply turn it off. When I turned it on again a few seconds later, most of my settings had been wiped along with much of the data kept on the actual phone memory. Some stuff was still there, like all my apps, my connections and passwords, but my home screen was defaulted, as were my message tone, ring tone and input settings. Also gone were any phone numbers I had stored on the phone itself as well as all of my inbox messages.
So, I went into the settings to put my screen lock back on because I noticed that had been reset, too. I did the normal routine, picked the pattern, confirmed it and so on. But after I put my phone down and locked the screen, when I picked it back up again and pressed the home key to activate the screen, it was just unlocked. I didn't have to input the unlock pattern. However, when I went back into the settings to make sure they were all okay, it made me enter the unlock pattern to get into it! How odd.
My stepdaughter has a Samsung Impression and she forgot her password to get into her phone. As a result, her phone won't let you past the phone lock screen.
I've tried removing the battery and entering *2767*3855#, but it just say "unsupported character" when I hit the # key. I even tried *2767*2878# and it says the same thing, "unsupported character".
How can I get into this phone? To make matters worse, the calibration on the touch screen is so off that it's virtually unusable in the portrait position.
I wanted to disable the peel remote from my lock screen, not my notification panel, but just my lock screen. I understand that there should be a option to do so, but it doesn't appear for me, the only option is to disable the remote from notification panel and lock screen, but I wanna keep it for the notification panel.

My question is there any way to get into the phone if you've forgotten the phone lock number? Do you have to reset the entire phone? If so, how is that done? I'm researching this for a friend so please forgive my ignorance.
