So I'm on sprint and my s5 will switch the time forward 2 hours every day at random times of the day. I have tried manually setting my time but then my text messages get weird time stamps and don't come in correctly . The only solution I have found is resetting the phone but that's annoying and time consuming.
I read several places in connection with the new 2.3.5 update it will be possible to separate screen time-out time from screen lock time. So that you screen would go dark after fx. 15 seconds and lock after 60 seconds
I went to settings and then About Phone. Subsequently, I checked for updates and after that I tried updating my phone. The file size was around 12 MB after which it proceeded with rebooting the phone. Unfortunately my phone is not getting rebooted after the software update. It is stuck with the screen showing "Samsun Galaxy S2 GT-19100G". The welcome note with the music screen is also not appearing.
When I lock my SGS II i would expect all the buttons to lock! However the power button function remain active and its far too easy to accidently power off my phone or set it into flight mode.Does anyone know how to disable this "feature" ??
I have upgraded my SGS2 to 2.3.6 last month, but noticed this issue in the last couple of weeks or so.When I press the phone lock key (which is on the right side) the phone is going to idle mode (screen goes black) but when I press the home key or lock key again, I can see that my phone is not locked.
Just recently I started getting game ads on my app lock screen and I don't know why this has happened. I downloaded the All-in-one-toolbox and the ad-detect and I was wondering when I go to the ad-detect, do I have to uninstall of the app's with ad's on them.
My friend has an SGS2 on Virgin Mobile and he wants to extend the length of time the phone rings before going to voicemail as he often misses calls. I can't see any settings on the handset and from what I can gather it looks like it to do with the carrier, in this case Virgin Mobile? ... I also found this info... "There's a really quick and easy way to extend the amount of time your phonerings for before voicemail kicks in. The most you can extend it to is 30 seconds. All you need to do is follow theseteps:- Tap *#67# into your phone, then press the call/answer key.- Make a note of the number that's displayed, including the + symbol.- Enter the following code:**61*the number you noted down from above**30#Here's an example of how the sequence of numbers might look:**61*+44717941123456**30# This will mean that your phone rings for 30 seconds. You can alter this toring for 5, 10, 15, 20 or 25 seconds by replacing **30# with your choice ofseconds. E.g. enter **15# if you want it to ring for 15 seconds.
My phone as recently started switching itself off for no reason.Sometimes it boots itself back on and other times it just stays off.I've tried doing a software upgrade on Keis but have had no joy.
Ihv nokia 5300 music xpress phone. everytime when i try to restart the phone after switching it off, it takes hell lot of time....around 5-6 minutes. My friend hs same mobile phone but in his case the time is around 1-2 minutes.
it seems to happen since upgrade to ICS. Takes ages to get it to restart, (time finger spent on power button) ICS has so far, been more trouble than its worth..
i use Samsung galaxy s2 with the latest firmware version from Samsung kies (ginger bread 2.3.5) , the problem occurred after installing external SD card and move bunch of apps to it,i tried removing the external sd card from my device, the device stoped rebooting, when i insert it again the device keeps rebooting over and over, the problem is obviosley is moving apps to SD card, i tried to delete the content of the file (andro secure) in SD crad this file includes the moved applications from phone memory to external sd, the problem also stoped
its one of the two: 1- android do not accept lots of apps in external sd or 2- there is a problem in a specific app in external sd which make the phone rebooting over and over but i don't know which app is causing the issue because i have lots of apps installed !
my s2 has just started rebooting itself over and over and im not sure what steps to take so asking for some kind advice please. I updated to ICS via kies around 12.30 this afternoon from gingerbread (after backing up my phone). My phone is branded vodafone but unlocked and is using an o2 Sim.I cant tell you any build numbers etc. The furthest the phone boots is as follows... turn on, the booting logo, sim card unlock pin, pattern unlock screen, once unlocked the screen is black, after 30 seconds or so, it reboots and does the same again but minus my sim unlock screen. It reboots to the pattern lock screen instead.Ive barely used it all day other than to take a look at whats new, i was about to begin a txt message when it randomly rebooted and just restarts.
So far this has happened 3 times:I was listening to music on the phone and then suddenly it stoped and played the startup music. When I unlocked the phone it had a blank screen and only a couple of icons at the top, one being the battery indicator. A few seconds later and its fully rebooted with signal strength etc
I have been using my samsung galaxy pretty heavily being as i just got it a week ago. I have noticed with heavy use it does not last me a whole day. Yesterday i let the battery drain all the way out so that i could completely cycle through. It ended up takeing a little over 3 hours to fully charge again. Was curious how many hrs of usage other people are averageing and how many hrs of charge time?
when I have tethered for a while, if I reboot the phone afterwards, my battery drops by around 30% just on the reboot. For example, if I have 44% left after tethering and then reboot by pressing and holding the power button until the phone reboots, by the time it's finished booting (which isn't long) it has dropped to 14% and it tells me to plug the charger in. If I don't plug the charger in (this is a real mystery this bit), every few minutes, the battery will keep increasing by 1%. This is without really using the phone much that it does this. It will keep regaining that 1% every few mins until I reboot the phone again and it remains at whatever it's got up to during that time.
I'm ringing Samsung tomorrow as I am pretty sure this isn't normal behaviour. However, I would like to ask if somebody might be kind enough to tether for about half an hour or so with their s2, then reboot (using power button and holding it til phone auto reboots) and tell me if you also lose more power. And then of course, see if it starts to creep up again.I know that's quite a big ask and would only advise somebody with truly unlimited data to try it as tethering consumes a lot.Bear in mind that tethering also drains battery anyway so make sure you have at least 60% prior to trying this just in case you lose the power too.

Did a battery pull fix your issue? NO
Phone switches off by itself, the red LED light flashes once and goes off completely and then the phone reboots. It does this randomly whenever I use it. Its started when I went on Facebook. I hardly ever go on Facebook. I've had the phone for 8 months and its never done this before.
I had a problem with the BB protect automatic back up but that seems to have been resolved after the OS upgrade.
I have an S5 Active but it is the same in most instances so I thought I might ask here where it will likely be seen by more folks. Is there a way to extend the time out on the swipe lock screen? I would like to add a second or two so it doesn't black out quite so quickly.
My boyfriend has the S4 and his alarm shows up on his lock screen, but mine doesn't, and I would like it to. Is there a way to get this or was it phased out?
I have resisted getting a smartphone for years. I use the phone for calls and texts and didn't need anything else. But finally, I had to join the new world. Now, I have a work phone that is an iPhone and I haven't really got on with that. One of the problems is that it arbitrarily switches on the voice function or phones someone or switches on music. This is just as it moves around. Drives me nuts!
So I finally bought a Galaxy S5 and I am trying to get used to the size and I am loving the phone and it is all good. Until this morning, when my brand new Galaxy switched the music on by itself. I am so unhappy I can't even say how much. I was so looking forward to having this fab new phone and now I don't know what to do. Do I honestly have to leave the phone at home on a flat surface, because if I put it in my pocket and so much as move a little, then it will simply switch itself on?
I will have to admit that I am using the iPhone earphones because my ear shape simply cannot take the Samsung ones and I can't currently afford to get Bose earbuds.
