Nokia :: 5300 - Restart The Phone After Switching It Off Takes Time?
May 2, 2010
Ihv nokia 5300 music xpress phone. everytime when i try to restart the phone after switching it off, it takes hell lot of time....around 5-6 minutes. My friend hs same mobile phone but in his case the time is around 1-2 minutes.
So, there are a bunch of things installed, and something is causing a horrible problem where the phone will not restart. It goes to the lock screen, and then the screen goes dark. If the phone is plugged in, the springboard will show, and then it wont' respond. Then maybe 5-10 minutes later, the phone appears to re-spring, and then you can use it. It's not my phone either, as my friends 3G did the same thing. I'm trying to figure out which program, or combination of programs are the issue. These are the list of possible program conflicts Winterboard Status notifier Notifier widget sbsettings iBlacklist lock dock bar Lockscreen weather
I purchased my N97 in August, been satisfied so far with overall experience with the phone. I noticed some glitches with the phone in the beginning but always assumed it's due to early firmware issues. Now having been upgraded to 20.0.019, I still have some issues and I am afraid it's hardware related. I like to know if someone else has faced the issues below and whether or not it worth it to take it the support or just wait for a next firmware release.
1- When dialing the screen backlight blinks when if slightly tilt the device, this happens when I dial from the phone itself and strangely from Nimbuzz as well. 2- It happened few times now that the device brings black screen with red and blue lines and then restarts itself. 3- Loading of applications sometimes takes more time than usual, also noticed acquiring connections or when web pages or network application starts connection it has some initial delay. This could be also a freeze issue where sometimes I have to press the end call red button to escape loading application or exit. 4- Poor voice quality with VoiP sometimes and I can't really distinguish wether it is connection problem or has to do with the speaker, considering doing calls sometimes over Nimbuzz on WiFi. 5- The bottom battery cover gotten a bit loose and it's kinda annoying when typing.
My Iphone 3G takes a great deal of time to "back up" when I sync it to my MBP. I'd say around 45 minutes or so. I don't have much on my Iphone (8 GB's of music, 500 photos, seven pages of apps (in regards to the Iphone screen), and a few podcasts). I don't think it has anything to do with my media and instead something either needs to be adjusted in settings or perhaps something else. I'm running 3.0. I have "automatically sync when this iphone is connected" checked off along with "manually manage music and videos". My friend who also has a 3G Iphone says his sync takes two minutes. What could be wrong? Edit: Did some research. Turns out I can just hit "x" when backup begins and it jumps to syncing. It is safe to always "X" out the backup when I sync my Iphone? What am I risking, if anything, by doing so?
My iphone removed my contacts and replaces them with one of my children's contacts. this is the second time this has happened in a year
I've been to the store but no one knows what is happening and they always say I must be doing something wrong. Anyone have any thoughts about this? We both have our own apple id and log ins. We do not synch on same computer
So, I want to have my clock on 12-hour mode, but when entering a time (eg, alarm, calendar appointment) I cannot select PM . . . .Can This Be Fixed?
Also, I cannot add Details to existing Contacts, like adding an extra phone number, editing a number, or adding an image...
I then have problems when adding people to groups. I added two contacts and then the phone would not allow me to add any more. When deleting a contact from the group, i tried to re-add them and was still not allowed...
The CA-126 charging USB cable looks hand for tethering my mobile to my PC without completely killing the battery. However the current provided by USB is still quite a bit less than that given by the real charger. So by my reckoning, the battery will last for about 6 hours of continuous 3G usage on the cable instead of 3 hours without. Anyone got a CA-126 (or the regular USB charging cable) and an Nseries device and tried this?
When using download option "Headers Plus", attachments are not downloaded by default. So far so good. When I receive a small (<80Kb) attachment (*.doc). I can enable option "download" for this attachment. When I subsequently sync my nokia e71 with my remote mail account (gmail) the attachment is still not downlo aded. Ony after quite some time (5-10 minutes) the attachment is downloaded and it can be opened. Same thing for a very smal *gif attachment. Is this normal behavior?By the way, I would prefer downloading small attachments always. Maybe a nice improvement for an upcoming release of messaging?
1) When I try to update the music list in the music player, it says "Searching for new music.." but continues to search forever, never finding any new songs. 2) When I use my camera, after I take the first picture, if I take a second picture then the camera takes a very long time to save the photo.
I believe the problems are related to my memory card, because when I tried to use the camera with the memory card out of the phone, there was no problem.
N82 takes 19/20sec to startup from normal 13sec! This happen after installing n-gage v1.20 app. I hard reset the phone & it startup in 13sec. But again when I installed n-gage it takes in 19/20sec to startup. It also remain same after uninstalling the n-gage app. I didn't keep anything sp in phone memory. My phone memory having 87mb free space out of 132mb. I checked in both ways with & without memory card! Even I format the memory card but no use.
After installing the PC Suite and its comapnions an instance of "svchost" service starts and takes 100% time of the processor. This takes place after rebooting. After uninstalllig all the Nokia software I have to restore the system to the previous state (HP system restore mechanism) and the service is calm again. So, the relation to PC suite seems proven. The process parent is "services" - useless information.I have WinXP Pro PL with all the service packs etc., the newest PS Suite PL, Nokia E51 and 3110c.The advices which can be found in Microsoft web pages and elsewhere concerning the excessive "svchost" service activity are not relevnt to my case.
About the last week, my music player is working slow. Sometimes, the art cover and line (that show the song time) don't appear, play, back and next are there. Sometimes takes like 4 seconds to start playing the song... Also, when I am listening to music No phone turn so slow. I Have 369 songs, Nokia n8 with symbian anna, 25.8
I have updated my nokia E75 to the latest software version 202.12.01 but it keeps restarting randomly,, so it can be a 5minutes period or even working for 3 hours but at the end it keeps restarting for no reason. i even tried to send it it to the repair shop, and all they can do is changing the cover ($40)even by sending the old software link.
I was actually happy because at first I thought it's not possible to update the Nokia Software, using the user's computer with Internet Access. I thought it was only possible with Sony Ericsson. Because of the user-friendly software called "Nokia Software Updater", I was able to update my N70 phone to the latest firmware. Which is version 5.0705.3.0.1
The update software only shows that there's an improvement when it comes to the Music Manager and Bluetooth Capabilities of the Phone. But then, I wanted a more detailed explaination, something like a changelog on this new version of software that was installed on my phone.
Well, I was only redirected to a list of changes for the latest phones today. Not my N70 phone. But it's fine. I'm always thinking that somehow it's a lot faster than before. Hopefully it's true, not psychological :manhappy:
The Music program of N70, well it was able to see my missing M4A files that I thought I wasn't able to upload them to my phone (old firmware). Messages are somehwat, well faster to open.. I guess..
Well, here's the thing. The program FExplorer or any program that asks the user to restart the phone or probably any program that sends the "restart" signal to my N70 phone, well basically it doesn't restart my phone anymore. I had to manually remove the battery. Because it hangs. It never happens with the old firmware. The 2.0 firmware. The original fimware that came with my N70 phone. Before, I used the restart function of FExplorer, and the program did managed to restart my phone successfully.
Well now, it hangs. So, is that an issue with the latest firmware? By the way I'm using the latest version of FExplorer...some of my friends are using the same phone as well, of course different firmware. They were able to use the restart function of FExplorer.
i have a nokia 5300 lilac edition from rogers that i have tried to un-brand and reset the phone to factory via nemesis service suite as demonstrated in this video
i went through all the steps, however now when the phone starts up i get the nokia hands like i should, but right after is the rogers logo like before, also the rogers music player is still on there . i do however now have the ability to use mp3's as ringtones, and the ptt and instant message options now show up in the menu (they weren't there before)
when going through the steps in the video my product number was 0547983 instead of the one shown in the video, so i took a chance and completly changed the whole product number to the one in the video, other than that i followed all the steps shown and ended up with my phone as described above.
I got a 1 GB memory card in my 5300 and I know (from putting it into other phones) that the memory card works fine. But my phone cannot read it - it used to, but now it says it is not formatted. Trying to format it does not help. It says it is formatted but soon after comes up with a message that it is NOT formatted. This is driving me crazy! Any idea what is wrong? It is updated with the latest software from Nokia.
I have a problem with my Nokia 5300 because the phone theme was corrupted and I cant changed or restore it due to my other problems: my phone memory is full so i cant change theme which is very much larger memory and i cant also restore the memory because my phone memory fills through the messages which is already empty but still contains Kb&Mb, what will i do? The phone memory is approximately 10 kb and the messages/drafts are empty but still contains almost 2mb.
