I own a Nokia 5300 xpress music phone with T-Mobile contract. After the contract period my phone was unlocked and brought to India to use it. To my surprise none of the Indian SIMs are working in the phone. why my phone is not accepting Indian SIMS.

While installing these updates i didnt got any pop-up to choose while installing these updates to Phone memory or Memory card i.e C dirve or E drive. can install all the above updates in Memory card that means i will get a pop-up like we get while installing 3rd party application.
i just got an iphone 4 The iphone was restored to factory settings so it would be new for me. I set up my iphone and put sim in it. The diplay on the iphone says that there is no service. I have no idea how to fix this i have tried two different sims, toggling the airport button, restoring it, turning it on and off. i have no idea how to fix this. i have done nothing to the phone but turn it on, restore it and update it. I dont understand why it doesnt work considering it was working a week ago. I have updated the software to 5.1.1 and still nothing. I have no idea what to do considering i have tried everything and i really dont want to go all the way to the apple store which is really far way.

Having great fun in doing so but not always given the option of where to save them to with the end result that they are saving to the phone memory which keeps filling up and then giving me an error message. Can anyone please tell me how to move apps from the phone memory to the card memory. And can anyone also tell me if I have an icon on the 'Menu' screen and the 'Apps' screen, does this mean the application has been downloaded twice and do I need both or can I delete one (presumably the 'Menu' one)?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my Nokia 5300 because the phone theme was corrupted and I cant changed or restore it due to my other problems: my phone memory is full so i cant change theme which is very much larger memory and i cant also restore the memory because my phone memory fills through the messages which is already empty but still contains Kb&Mb, what will i do? The phone memory is approximately 10 kb and the messages/drafts are empty but still contains almost 2mb.

What I did was I just registered using my laptop and was able to create one without any credit card details. However, when I tried using it on my Iphone, it still asked for a credit card which again, I don't have. I read on some topics here that you need to initially put in your credit card details and then just change it to no credit card afterwards. How can I do that if I don't have a credit card at all. It's sad that Apple assumes ALL people have credit cards.

Had been awaiting from the day I bought the N97 for a firmware upgrade so that the nagging C drive could be rested a bit and could do peacefully three humble needs from a phone for which I paid more than an Iphone. They are-1. To use the Email, Maps and a workable camera (still suffering from flash overflow problems). But the v21.0.045 seems to be not available for India for (RM-505) and still as of today shows the latest firm ware is 20.0.019. The phone updater shows only the latest OVI free maps available-which can't be installed.Does the Nokia employees or other users in this forum have any information when the update for RM-505 would be available?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a N900 from UAE last week and I am using it in Surat, Gujarat, all works fine but I am not able to find nokia messaging to configure email accounts and also I am not able to connect any widgets or messenger( msn, gmail, yahoo) on the phone. Only I am able to browse internet on the maemo browser and firefox which I installed later. Please give me any tips or tricks how can I get it up and working. As even if I try to configure the default email account of hotmail or gmail, it is configured quickly but cannot send receive emails in the inbox. Just gets the error message " could connect to imap and or server proxy port number is wrong. Tried all I could from the help of service providers, but no luck as they are all totally unaware of any settings regarding this phone in India. Please people help me with this..
View 4 Replies View RelatedNow that the ovi music store has become a DRM-free store and launched in India. Few things I have noticed that :-
1. It doesn't simply work on mobile for me atleast on my n82! Earlier with the nokia music store it used to work fine both with browsing and downloading tracks. The store crashes if u click on downloading and sometimes it closes also if you are simply browsing the store.
2. The downloading history doesn't appear at all with no tracks on mobile while the tracks which have been downloaded appear clearly while browsing the store on pc.
3. The new store doesn't give an option to re-download the tracks and you have to buy them again, means that track balance gets reduced if you download a track which you have already downloaded earlier.
I have contacted nokia care about these issues, anyone else facing the same problem specially in accessing the ovi music store on mobile?
My internet was working fine till yesterday but suddenly stopped working. I see a 'H' next to network indicator. The same used to be G/3G earlier. My APN settings are fine. "airtelgprs.com" and have tried restarting my phone but to no effect.
Is there are way around this?
From what I have read online, H stands for 3.5 G...so if in my settings I select "highest connection speed" as 3G, will it work with 'H'?

I have only had this phone for 7 months and now when I try to connect via USB, my computer does not recognize it at all when I open PC Suite or Ovi. I've tried choosing both PC Suite and Mass Storage options when connecting. Neither has worked. I even switched USB cables to see if there was an issue with my original one and this has failed as well.

I am not sure how to pick up incoming calls as there is no indication as accept / Reject etc. Is any other key could be used to accept the calls?
I'm currently using E72-1, V 031.023. A lot of times, when I get an incoming calls, my phone freezes once I click the accept button, it freezes for like 20 seconds, then either accepts the call, or hangs up. Also, when I dial a number using the keypad, there is a delay, like, it takes 1-3 seconds between each number I press to display on the screen. I tried soft resetting, hard resetting, both fixes the issue for the 1st few hours, then both issues happen again!

I want a phone that is good for music but I also want a good texting that offers wifi(i know the 5230 doesnt offer this but to my knowledge you can use the 10 dollar a month tmobile data plan which is ok with me). Also to any one who has the e63 how much of a nuisance is it that the e63 doesn't have a volume rocker, seems like this is a pretty basic feature i couldn't imagine not having one. Also I am only considering candybar style phones because i always seem to break phones with moving parts.

I recently updated my phone 5800 XpressMusic to latest firmware V 50.0.005 (Customer Version 50.0.005.C03.01) but I am unable to see many changes. The only changes that I notice are - kinetic scrolling, change in the way browser displays the page and music library. Are these the only changes? Is there a way to check officially, what all changes, is this new firmware supposed to bring in?

I have been using Nokia handsets for last 5-7 years, because I like the compatibility & reliability of Nokia phones. But this time Nokia has really disappointed me. I have bought Nokia 5800 XpressMusic on 14th-August-2009 of 16000 INR. I have bought it for that particular feature. But i havn't found any TV-Out cable in the box or such feature in the handset. I have also connected TV-Out cable of Nokia N-95 with it, but its not working. I hope, Nokia will sure make a positive solution for that devices, manufactured without this feature in August-2009 & give the relief to all its owners like me, by replacing it with new one having this feature.

how can I get rid of the screen saver (blue and white things floating across the screen)? I just want to have date and time displayed, nothing else. I tried this:
Menu -> Settings -> Themes -> Power saver -> Date. but it doesn't work as expected.
After about fifteen (15) seconds of not touching the phone, date and time are displayed. Fine. After another fifty (50) seconds the blue and white floating things appear. What is the right setting to get rid of any animations?
