Nokia :: N97 New Firmware V21.0.045 Not Available For India

Had been awaiting from the day I bought the N97 for a firmware upgrade so that the nagging C drive could be rested a bit and could do peacefully three humble needs from a phone for which I paid more than an Iphone. They are-1. To use the Email, Maps and a workable camera (still suffering from flash overflow problems). But the v21.0.045 seems to be not available for India for (RM-505) and still as of today shows the latest firm ware is 20.0.019. The phone updater shows only the latest OVI free maps available-which can't be installed.Does the Nokia employees or other users in this forum have any information when the update for RM-505 would be available?

I have purchased nokia E71x in india from market.its unlocked.but whn i inserted my network chip inside it , no network has been dispalyed in phone screen.when i tried to call its shows connection erroe.can please anyone tell me how can i use my phone in india with my service provider.

I bought a N900 from UAE last week and I am using it in Surat, Gujarat, all works fine but I am not able to find nokia messaging to configure email accounts and also I am not able to connect any widgets or messenger( msn, gmail, yahoo) on the phone. Only I am able to browse internet on the maemo browser and firefox which I installed later. Please give me any tips or tricks how can I get it up and working. As even if I try to configure the default email account of hotmail or gmail, it is configured quickly but cannot send receive emails in the inbox. Just gets the error message " could connect to imap and or server proxy port number is wrong. Tried all I could from the help of service providers, but no luck as they are all totally unaware of any settings regarding this phone in India. Please people help me with this..

Now that the ovi music store has become a DRM-free store and launched in India. Few things I have noticed that :-
1. It doesn't simply work on mobile for me atleast on my n82! Earlier with the nokia music store it used to work fine both with browsing and downloading tracks. The store crashes if u click on downloading and sometimes it closes also if you are simply browsing the store.
2. The downloading history doesn't appear at all with no tracks on mobile while the tracks which have been downloaded appear clearly while browsing the store on pc.
3. The new store doesn't give an option to re-download the tracks and you have to buy them again, means that track balance gets reduced if you download a track which you have already downloaded earlier.
I have contacted nokia care about these issues, anyone else facing the same problem specially in accessing the ovi music store on mobile?

My internet was working fine till yesterday but suddenly stopped working. I see a 'H' next to network indicator. The same used to be G/3G earlier. My APN settings are fine. "airtelgprs.com" and have tried restarting my phone but to no effect.
Is there are way around this?
From what I have read online, H stands for 3.5 G...so if in my settings I select "highest connection speed" as 3G, will it work with 'H'?
Please help...not able to get emails. No Wifi available so can't download the "network setup" app also to resolve.

I live in India.i had brought a iphone 4 from the united states when i was on a short trip. i paid the full price around $650 but it is still locked to AT&T how can i get it factory unlocked from at&t. i never used at&t's service while i was in US. am i eligible for unlock and if yes how to proceed ahead for the unlock !!??

I am in India and am thinking of buying the X2-02 but I would like to know whether it has input methods for Indic languages.Last time I bought C1-01 I was pleasantly surprised to find that it allowed me to type in Indic languages for SMSs etc.Also in my X1-01 if I have set the phone language to Indic language then I can compose message in Indic script.

I have a Bell Blackberry Bold 9700 and I just switch to Rogers! Would it be *better if I flash the rogers firmware on the phone, or leave it with the bell firmware? I Ran a firmware update through nokia pc suite as I have done numerous times. Only time time my N97 is now screwed! Lost all the home page functions like apps and options and would default to the menu screen and whilst trying to connect back to PC Suite to try and re run it now has frozen in the "Nokia" Loading screen. Is there a manual way to reset the phone to factory setting?

Yesterday, I was rejoicing when I found out Nokia outed the N97's latest firmware. Among the enhancements was "improved music player." The moment I got home from work, I set out to update my N97 to 21.0.045.
To my disappointment, I don't see what was improved from 20.x.x version. And to make things even more disappointing, gapless playback is still not a function I can turn on.SERIOUSLY!It is 2010. Can we get gapless music playback functionality in the music player? Or is live music something Finnish people don't listen to? I cannot imagine that I'm the only person in the world who thinks this is an important function in a music player. Am I?!?
The N91 didn't have it. Fine. It was the first major multimedia phone from Nokia.
The N95 didn't have it. What? Okay, maybe they're still working on it.
The 5800 XpressMusic didn't have it. Wait. A marketed music phone doesn't have this basic feature which exists on pretty much decade old **bleep** mp3 players?
The N97 still doesn't have it. Seriosly. Somebody? Do Nokia engineers not listen to music at all? Nobody at Espoo listens to live music?

I've read that there is a firmware upgrade that would allow me to use the new Ovi maps with free driving directions and various other nice tweaks and so on to make the phone much more reliable. I'm locked in to 3 at the moment - and I could unlock from them for a £15 fee - but I don't know whether this will then allow me to upgrade the firmware to the latest verision?

A new firmware has been made available for the N97. I updated yesterdat & its 22.0.110 now. NO new features added. If you know whats new in this release, please reply or post a link for the changelog.

My n97 is nearly always critical for space on the main c drive of the phone. Is it true there is a new firmware release that sorts this and leave alot more space on the main drive? If it is true- when will it be on general release? I have seen some sites suggesting some sort of 'illegal' fix which I dont want any part of.
