I have purchased nokia E71x in india from market.its unlocked.but whn i inserted my network chip inside it , no network has been dispalyed in phone screen.when i tried to call its shows connection erroe.can please anyone tell me how can i use my phone in india with my service provider.

my nokia e71x recently started giving me a very static-y signal when making or receiving calls. my voice apparently sounds fine to whoever i'm talking to but what i hear in the earpiece is full of static, as if the signal is very weak. this is happening no matter where i am (even in places where i know the signal is strong). i'm in new york city. the speaker appears to be ok when doing other things, e.g. watching video clips on Internet. it's just phone calls that sound **bleep**.this just started in the last few days. it's possible the phone was exposed to heat, sand and (maybe) water as we were recently on vacation, but other than the bad sound everything works and looks fine.my contract is about up so i may just replace it anyway, but i'd like to know if this is fixable. i tried removing the battery and sim card, making sure all were clean and dry and putting them back.

They are-1. To use the Email, Maps and a workable camera (still suffering from flash overflow problems). But the v21.0.045 seems to be not available for India for (RM-505) and still as of today shows the latest firm ware is 20.0.019. View 10 Replies View RelatedI bought a N900 from UAE last week and I am using it in Surat, Gujarat, all works fine but I am not able to find nokia messaging to configure email accounts and also I am not able to connect any widgets or messenger( msn, gmail, yahoo) on the phone. Only I am able to browse internet on the maemo browser and firefox which I installed later. Please give me any tips or tricks how can I get it up and working. As even if I try to configure the default email account of hotmail or gmail, it is configured quickly but cannot send receive emails in the inbox. Just gets the error message " could connect to imap and or server proxy port number is wrong. Tried all I could from the help of service providers, but no luck as they are all totally unaware of any settings regarding this phone in India. Please people help me with this..
View 4 Replies View RelatedNow that the ovi music store has become a DRM-free store and launched in India. Few things I have noticed that :-
1. It doesn't simply work on mobile for me atleast on my n82! Earlier with the nokia music store it used to work fine both with browsing and downloading tracks. The store crashes if u click on downloading and sometimes it closes also if you are simply browsing the store.
2. The downloading history doesn't appear at all with no tracks on mobile while the tracks which have been downloaded appear clearly while browsing the store on pc.
3. The new store doesn't give an option to re-download the tracks and you have to buy them again, means that track balance gets reduced if you download a track which you have already downloaded earlier.
I have contacted nokia care about these issues, anyone else facing the same problem specially in accessing the ovi music store on mobile?

From what I have read online, H stands for 3.5 G...so if in my settings I select "highest connection speed" as 3G, will it work with 'H'?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an E71x. It has a BUNCH of issues, but my main problem now is I was saving my text messages to my installed memory card. The card became full. I took the card out to get some audio files and other stuff off it to make more room. Well, at some point the phone said the memory card was missing and it would use the internal memory. Now I can't get it to use the memory card again. I see no way to put it back to that. I think the only option I got was to "Copy" messages to the memory card. But I don't want to do that.
I need to save as much stuff as I can off the phone, then reset or restore the phone to the factory settings, or just re-install everything. (this Symbian OS and Nokias poor support of it are for the birds...)But, how do I get the phone to save messages to my memory card again?
I am having problems with gprs in my e71x. It used to work fine earlier but now when on using the web browser it just shows wifi under the internet destinations.I have gprs configured as an accesspoint inside internet destination and it worked great earlier but now for some reason it is no more visible to any apps.I tried restoring the phone to factory settings, reformatted it and even reflashed the 3.78 firmware but couldn't fix the problem.
