I've just now experienced this in the course of fixing another issue.
Normally in spite of how much i change ROMS whenever I set time manually and uncheck network derived time the date/ time maintains across restarts, now it doesnt.
What I did so far:
clean ROM not dirty flashed
switching between stock OMNI and Minux OMNI
all combinations of option in date/ time settings while
Each and everytime after reset the date time is 13 Aug 1970. Even if is set to automatic that date briefly appears before a connection to the net is made.
I got my lollipop update yesterday. I was using it fine but it keeps restarting by itself several times. I have checked the power button and there is no issue with it either.
There is a "downloaded and verified" software update on my phone that says Restart and Install. However, I do not want this update. If my phone restarts (accident, runs out of battery) will this start installing the update? If so, how can I stop it? I have an unrooted Nexus 5, and I do not want to root it.
On my Nexus 5 the master volume control under settings seems to reset itself daily. The notifications and alarm volume setting turns down to very low even when I have set it to the highest volume level earlier that day or the day before. Its a problem when I'm using my phone as an alarm because I'll sleep through the alarm when it goes off and is very quiet! Is there anything I can do to stop it from resetting itself?
Why I have advertisements popping up on my phone all the time?
It's random and occurs in all apps and I checked for virus with a scanner and it doesn't say anything. Idk what I clicked that might have caused this bug. Ads usually are games that lead me to the play store and not anything explicit...
I have installed Android M one month ago and in the last two days my phone started to reboot at anytime. When I'm using it, like in a call or browsing with google chrome, just reboot...
How to keep the phone speaker on all the time? Probably 95% of my calls, I use the speaker. Would be nice not to have to reach up and turn the speaker on.
Yesterday I updated my phone to CyanogenMod(CM)13.0 which went fine. However when I rebooted the phone a popup came up the entire time telling me that google play services stopped working. In an attempt to fix it, I accidently removed google play services, causing a bunch of trouble at the moment.
I went to the CM Wiki and first I downloaded the "nano" variant of the GAPPS, trying to fix everything in the end. I put the file on my phone and tried to install it via recovery. This message came up however.Insufficnt storage space available in system partition. You may want to use a smaller GAPPS package or consider removing some apps using GAPPS-config ( bla bla) Error code 70. As far as I can see, it is able to mount /system and /data, but the partition does not seem to have enough space left, at least so it says.
After that I tried the same with the "pico" variant, which also gave the same result. Pretty strange for a package that small. So after taking a backup of important files I tried to wipe data/factory reset (was going to reinstall everything), to which I got an error "data wipe failed", which is correct since I can still boot in CM13 after that. So I'm a bit in trouble here. I cannot seem to wipe my phone entirely, nor am I able to reinstall GAPPS due to this error 70. Could this be a permissions problem somehow? Things I have done so far to check what the problem could be:
- I've checked the space left on the /system partition which is 501 MB. Should be enough I guess? - I've checked the /system partition for errors via adb shell while the phone was in recovery mode, which came out clean.
My nexus 5 sometimes shows 1hours 40 minutes which is the exact time it should charge from 0 to 100 but sometimes it shows 3 hrs sometimes 2hr sometimes 6 hrs.I have a sony 5000 mah power bank. when i connect my nexus 5 to that with nexus 5 usb cable it still shows the same problem. I have connected a couple of chargers but still same problem.
I've never had a problem before, and now out of the blue it restarts itself every time I try to send out a text. This is highly annoying and inconvenient and I really have no clue how to stop it. My trackball is also jammed, but I don't think they're related at all.
Basically my K850i, has always remembered the time + date when I've removed the battery for a short period of time. However recently this no longer work, which is really annoying.I don't know how it used to remember it, but is it a capacitor and could this be broken? Or is there a smaller battery inside.Real time clock says 'ok' but I'm clueless as to what that means!
Today i woke up to see my nexus and it was not on. So I Press the button to turn on it but in the Moment that the word "GOOGLE" appears and then appears the 4 color just in that moment, it got STACK and automatically restart.
My nexus 5 LG D821 2months old was first having battery issue after the 16MB update. That was fixed reinstalled facebook & Outlook .
Lately I am having freezing issues randomly. it's getting worse. When it freezes pressing the power button to sleep then waking up works good . Sometimes about 15 min keeps freezing repeatedly. rebooting when its freezing restarts with color pixels screen. When it reboots then works good.
Today I noticed when i open outlook or do anything else e.g. in system it freezes, but same time i play candy crush saga no freezing.
Now I have uninstalled facebook, outlook and any other app i do not need. still freezes. I have booted in safe mode it also freezes there.
Another thing when i put it to charge when its freezing on my ravpower wireless charger the screen flickers or cut or half display.
I have a Nexus 5 running 5.0.1 and the issue is that every time I switch my phone on the ringer volume is off, as in silent.
I usually forget to turn it back up until lunchtime by which time I've usually missed a couple of calls.
For the life of me I can't find where to set the default ringer volume. I've played with Settings>Sound&Notification until I'm blue in the face. Ring volume is on full. Power off and on again and it's back to 0.
I have a Motorola Nexus 6 on AT&T. I keep getting notification of an update, restart and install fail after seemingly downloaded. When it reboot, message "error".I'm on 5.1 LMY47D
Ihv nokia 5300 music xpress phone. everytime when i try to restart the phone after switching it off, it takes hell lot of time....around 5-6 minutes. My friend hs same mobile phone but in his case the time is around 1-2 minutes.
Every time when I restart my xperia z2 some random old messages are resend. These messages don't show in the messaging app either so I have no way of knowing which messages were send and to who. I've checked with my provider but they couldn't fix it. It's really annoying because I constantly have to explain that I did not send any message.
I set my phone to go to sleep after 30 second of inactivity in the settings in display. However, this always changes itself to 2 minutes every day or so without me changing anything.
My Nexus 6 has random restarts about once per day. The most frustrating thing about it is that it takes 1:45 minutes (105 seconds) to reboot. It's the same length of time when I turn the phone off and boot it by hand. Is this normal? Can a few of you do me a favor and measure how long it takes on theirs?
There's a problem with my phone.. when i restart the phone.. the motion sensor doesn't work for a long time.. it only works for apps.. how to solve it?
So ever since I set an alarm on my nexus for the first time, when the phone is sleeping (screen is off) if turns the screen on every time the minute changes or the battery amount charge increases (I.e. 50% - 51%).
as per the subject, the widget disappeared from my screen after it was at the top of my home screen. I went into widgets and there's no time on the one in there, nor is there anything for it under Clocks. I've looked all over to find a widget to replace this, from Accuweather, and I can't.
Just a question for everyone that occasionally wipes the cache partition from recovery like I do. I'm on my 2nd replacement and after I set it all up I wiped the cache partition but for some reason it takes longer than usual for the process to finish. Usually it would be like 2 seconds where now it takes around 35-40 seconds to complete. How long does it usually take you to clear your cache?
I've had my Nexus 5 for a couple months, and all of a sudden within the last day or two it plays a chime every time I unlock my screen, which is VERY annoying. What is causing this. I checked my sound settings, and the screen lock sound option is disabled. I also went through all of my running apps to stop the processes, and it doesn't seem to be any of those. It's also not my normal notification sound, it's a different sound I'd never heard before.
After Marshmallow Update, my Nexus 5 behaving Strangely - Showing Incorrect Time & After Restarting Showing Correct Time.
The Time Zone is Correct But Still Showing Incorrect Time.
The Clock Running Slow, Sometimes 1 & 1/2 Hours Times Back & Sometimes 2 Hours Back.
After Restarting, Shows Correct Time, Again After Sometime The Clock Runs Back.
After Manually Setting The Clock, The Problem Still There.
On this day my Nexus 5 Clock was a day Off Like The Time Displayed on My clock was 6::30 Pm Thu 22 2015 Whereas The Actual Time was 7:37 Fri 23 2015 & when I set the Date & Time Correct, This is what Displayed on my Screen.
onReceive: java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException:Invalid index 286, size is 150
I've had my Nexus 5 for a couple of weeks and from the day one I've noticed that from time to time it stopped vibrating for short periods of time. Then after a couple of seconds, or even a minute it would start up again. It does that at least once or twice a day.
I have a Google Nexus 5 running Android 5.0.1 and have recently noticed that the time assigned to pictures taken with my phone are all time-stamped five hours later than when the pictures were actually taken. By time stamped I mean the time shown when I pull up the picture's details.
Given that it's exactly five hours off it seems to me that it's probably a time-zone issue. However, I've checked the settings on my phone under Settings/Date & Time and although both the date and time are set to Automatic Date & Time and Automatic Time Zone, the grayed out text below are showing the correct date, time and time zone. This makes sense since my phone displays the correct date and time across the board except for the photo details. Is this something that can be fixed by adjusting some settings I'm not aware of?
