Google Nexus 5 :: Stop Vibrating For Short Periods Of Time
Jun 25, 2014
I've had my Nexus 5 for a couple of weeks and from the day one I've noticed that from time to time it stopped vibrating for short periods of time. Then after a couple of seconds, or even a minute it would start up again. It does that at least once or twice a day.
I am having an issue where the touch screen seems to be unresponsive for a short time after unlock. For instance, if I unlock the phone via fingerprint, pattern, or slide the first touch doesn't respond and I have to tap whatever app or item I am trying to use. I'm using Cataclysm ROM with the most recent ElementalX kernel. Maybe it's a ROM/Kernel thing and I should try stock but just wanted to ask here.
My Nexus 5 phone is running Android 6.0.1, but shortly before that, I switched from a T-Mobile Prepaid plan to a postpaid plan and then, immediately back to a prepaid plan again. The thing is that I had a $30/month prepaid plan which is not available as a postpaid plan. But no one told me. They just said that I was eligible for a postpaid plan after 18 months. Of course, I jumped right back when they wanted to charge me $50/month. So that is what caused the texting trouble.
In Nexus 6 settings unter Interruptions, I have "only allow priority interruptions" set, and priority interruptions have "calls" selected, while "events and reminders" and "messages" are deselected.
Despite this, I keep getting popups from Hangouts while I'm playing games. There is no way to mute Hangouts indefinitely, either. I am ready to throw my phone through the wall.
I have Hangouts notifications completely blocked now, but that's not really what I want. I just want it to not send pop-up notifications while I'm in another app. Seems like this should be a no-brainer.
I get a Kerrklunk Klink noise whenever the screen lights up on my Nexus 5 ,before I unlock the screen. Also periodically in the background during calls and when using navigation. Tried to find the answer on forums etc ( NFC is off) and scoured my apps but it's still there. It's a sound nowhere on my list of notification sounds btw
I have a Chronus clock and an Accuweather widget that wil randomly stop updating. The only way to resolve this is to reboot the phone. The Chronus clock works ok, but the battery meter will randomly stop updating. The Accuweather wigdet will also stop. If I remove and re-add the Accuweather app, all I get is the "Loading" screen.
I am on a Nexus 6 on the T-Mo network. Currently running OS 5.1.1, build LYZ28J.
As long as I can remember, my photos have been syncing to Dropbox as soon as I take them on my Nexus. I'm not sure how this started, but at first I thought it would be useful. However, now I'd like to stop it as I'm fed up with having multiple copies everywhere. But I don't know how to stop it.
Is there any way I can stop Outlook (or Gmail if I can do it to just one account) from sending notifications (or syncing in general) outside business hours? from 5p-9a
Got to the end of a run today and my RunKeeper app was locked up. I finally got it to close, but then the phone started rapidly and constantly cycling through apps and screens, even moving apps and widget around. It's like an invisible person is constantly touching and dragging their fingers across the screen. Holding down the power button for 5 seconds got it shut down, but when restarted, it resumed it's app cycling. I could have gotten some sweat (from my run) on the volume buttons or down in the headset jack, so I stuck it in a bag of rice to cover that possibility. A factory reset is an option I can explore later tonight if no other suggestions are made.
I woke up this morning and my iphone was next to me. I rolled over and it burned me because of how hot it was. I woke up and noticed it was vibrating too. Not short little vibrates but this one long continuous vibration. Also, the screen was black but in the middle were little white lines. I tried cutting the phone off. It didnt work.
I tried resetting by holding the power and home button. It didnt work. So I went to the bathroom came back and it was still hot and vibrating. As soon as I picked it up to go ask someone about it, the vibration shut off and it seemed the phone was powered off. So I tried the power button again. No luck. I tried the resetting process. No luck.
So recently my iPhone 5C started vibrating after receiving a message over fb messenger and ever since it wont stop vibraing, i have hard-reset the phone several times, i have restored the phone, eraised all content, set up as a new iphone, done the lock, home and up volume button on reset, and it still persists to vibrate. Â
Why I have advertisements popping up on my phone all the time?
It's random and occurs in all apps and I checked for virus with a scanner and it doesn't say anything. Idk what I clicked that might have caused this bug. Ads usually are games that lead me to the play store and not anything explicit...
I set my phone to go to sleep after 30 second of inactivity in the settings in display. However, this always changes itself to 2 minutes every day or so without me changing anything.
My Nexus 6 has random restarts about once per day. The most frustrating thing about it is that it takes 1:45 minutes (105 seconds) to reboot. It's the same length of time when I turn the phone off and boot it by hand. Is this normal? Can a few of you do me a favor and measure how long it takes on theirs?
i don't like google play for music takes too long to add songs and i previously had an iPhone i bought the songs on iTunes and I've been putting them on but there is no search or anything to see if duplicates have been added.
I have a blackberry bold 9900, it will NOT stop vibrating at all, i have removed the battery, sim card and wiped the phone back to its orginal settings and its still vibrating?
I have a pearl 8220, that will not stop vibrating. Took out the battery, replaced itand it still vibrates, tried to turn off vibrate in the sound settings, no luck.
Simply put, my HTC One is vibrating.. all the time. As long as it has battery life it is consistently vibrating. I've tried turning all the vibration settings off, and i don't think that is going to affect it. Is there anyway to permanently disable the vibration? Is there anything else I could possibly do? My phone is past any sort of warranty, so I'd rather attempt to saving it before trying to buy a new one. Is there a way to possibly remove the vibrating hardware from the phone?
my blackberry curve 8520 not stop vibrating; but its been like if for about 2 weeks; its really starting to annoy me now; ive even tried a new battery;
I've just now experienced this in the course of fixing another issue.
Normally in spite of how much i change ROMS whenever I set time manually and uncheck network derived time the date/ time maintains across restarts, now it doesnt.
What I did so far:
clean ROM not dirty flashed switching between stock OMNI and Minux OMNI all combinations of option in date/ time settings while
Each and everytime after reset the date time is 13 Aug 1970. Even if is set to automatic that date briefly appears before a connection to the net is made.
I have installed Android M one month ago and in the last two days my phone started to reboot at anytime. When I'm using it, like in a call or browsing with google chrome, just reboot...
