Short version: How do I "unfreeze" the iPod controls on an iPhone (or iPod classic) when it is plugged into an accessory? The accessory is an Alpine car stereo, though I have seen the controls freeze on boom-box type accessories too.
My car has a nice aftermarket Alpine stereo with an iPod connector plug, so I can plug in my iPod and my iPhone in the glove compartment. Sadly, when the iPod/iPhone is plugged in, the screen says "accessory connected" and it doesn't allow me any access to the controls. This is bad. This is bad because the stereo's alphanumeric display shows only 8 characters, and the knob you turn to select things can only go about two clicks per second, meaning it takes about a million years to scroll through any list of songs or artists or playlists. If I did feel the temptation to switch songs while driving (and I'm not saying I do that, it is most often the passenger or I am at a red light) the iPod/iPhone's own controls would be much, much faster and safer than the Alpine's knob and 8-character display.
Even more hilariously, the iPhone has frozen iPod controls (you click the iPod app and it says "accessory connected"), but everything else about the iPhone is accessible. If this was a safety feature, then 1) I would hope the new controls would be safer than the overridden and frozen controls, whereas the new controls are actually much more dangerous and distracting; and 2) It seems pretty unsafe to be able to browse the internet and use the maps app, which are both fully functional while the iPhone is plugged into the car stereo. So yeah, how do I unfreeze the controls? Will jailbreaking do it? Or do I need to jailbreak and then do.
Hopefully someone can help me with this problem. I have a Samsung SCH a950 with Verizon serviced. I was discussing the NAM1 and NAM2 function with someone, and looked it up in my settings. I switched to NAM2 to see if there was any pre-programmed info. The phone turned off, then turned back on (reset), went into roaming mode, and displayed a screen that says initial programming needed. When I push OK it prompts to enter unlock code asking for 4 digits, just as it would normally if the phone was locked. Here is the problem, my code doesn't work, I tried the last for digits of the phone number thinking that it had reverted to default, didn't work. I tried 1234, 0000, 5555, etc. and so on. I couldn't find the code. I tried the last four of the ESN, and everything I could think of that the phone might revert to; still locked.
I called Verizon and they were unable to help and referred me to Samsung. Samsung told me it would have to be re-flashed w/ software, and told me that if I didn't want to do that, to contact Verizon tech services because they know the codes but regular customer support doesn't want to bother. I got ahold of tech support finaly after fighting with one Verizon rep who didn't want to transfer me. Tech support didn't have an answer and suggested I take it to a Verizon dealer to be re-flashed. I don't really want to do that because there is only one store in my area that has the software capability and from my experience the employees area incompetent with the exception of siging up people for new contracts. Also, the phone is working fine, my calender alarm went off at the right time, its receiving a signal, keeping time, etc. I'm just wondering if anyone has an idea for a lock code that I've over looked, or a work around to set it back to NAM1, or if there is a program such as BITPIM or something that I can do a work around or reset through my PC
I am having some problems with the samsung a950 pst lite install. I've lost the 4 digit user selected security lock code which is required to reset the phone.Virgin says Samsung should help recover the code and Samsung says Virgin should help recover the code.A while back, I found a code on the web that allowed me to go into a service menu which listed among other things the lock code. I can't find any information on how to get back into that menu.
By the way, yes, I tried the last 4 digits of the phone number, 0000, 9999, 1234.If anyone knows how to get into the service menu on this phone
The only codes I've found so far are:##786# which gets into an info menu but doesn't have the lock code.##33284# which requires a 6-digit security code which I don't know.
I have a display problem with one of my two phone. When you power on the phone the Samsung logo appear and off after that but the phone boot up OK just don't have any on the screen, I can make call or receive OK. I disassemble both phones and swap the main board and find out that nothing wrong with the LCD Screen but the Main board. The phone have BK03 bin and I loaded with CB23 bin and it working good now.
i've been searching all over the internet for the userlock code for the Samsung Freeform III, it's not the one it usually is for MetroPCS. i would like to get into the settings and be able to download mp3's and images via the web browser, and even possibly tether via USB or Bluetooth. If anyone knows this code, or can help me figure out what it is. That would be great.
Just updated via Samsung Apps the camera firmware to a CDE11 or something version. Took 4 minutes to update and flash this firmware. I wonder what exactly it changed in the camera firmware? Hopefully improved things or bug fixes.I will test a few videos and see if the bitrate has changed or not.
I have an old Samsung A610 and saved some text and picture messages on it before buying a brand new phone. Is there a way to program a shortcut or widget for the Record Audio feature in the Samsung Solstice? I have tried to no avail to find a way to do this. I want to take advantage of the feature, but as it is, I have to click menu, tools, record audio just to get started. Ideally I would love to have it available in the multi task button but I'm not hopeful this is possible.
I recently bought a used Samsung Flight online and it appears to be locked. The pictures in the posting all showed it unlocked, connected to Rogers etc and the phone is exactly as shown in the posting based on the nicks/marks on it. However, when I boot it up I am faced with a passcode. I've tried the standard 0000, 1234, 12345, 00000 etc but no luck. I've also messaged the seller but have not received a reply as yet.
A couple years ago my wife bought a Samsung Instinct M810. I flashed the phone to Verizon so she could use PagePlus. Everything has been working fine but the phone has really been beaten up. About the only thing that still works is the speed dial function.
A few days ago I found another Instinct in mint condition for her. I have been trying to flash it to Verizon with limited luck. I activated the phone with PagePlus and received a phone number ( I was planning on porting her number when I had everything working). The phone connects to Verizon but it can't connect to OTP. If I dial a number I get connected to Verizon with the message "Welcome to Verizon, unfortunately we cannot identify your phone, etc."
The problem is that when I dial *22890 (or any *228xx number)the signal bars vanish and there is an indicator showing no service and the call is dropped. After the call is dropped the signal returns and I can again connect to Verizon. I have tried several PRL's, even the one on my wife's current phone but it doesn't make any difference. I didn't have this much trouble with her other phone so I am at a loss.
I bought a nexus yesterday and have been unable to register it with the American samsung site (no options for us canadians there) not to mention the fact that after typing in my serial the site says my handset was manufactured 1/31/1993!
On the canadian site which i have all my other samsung products registered, there is no listing for my model number (GT-I9250TSDTLS (this is whats on the box, phone menu just lists my model as Samsung Galaxy Nexus, though the label under that battery shows GT-I9250M as the model number..how am I supposed to register my phone?[URL]..shows that galaxy owners can get a free copy of angry birds space... how do I get that?
The phone is stuck with "Silence all" on the screen at all times. It's not usable and I cannot make any calls, answer calls or send text messages. The menus also are not accessible as I thought about trying to do a standard or hard reset.I have tried using the volume button to cycle out of'Silence All", then "Vibrate All" shows but it automatically goes back to and stays on "Silence All".I even tried holding the FN-# key and the * key to see if it comes out it but it does not.
I have also tried removing the battery several times but it does not help.anyone have any ideas of how I can get it out of this mode or is the phone toast?
I recently bought the Softbank (Samsung) 707SCii phone. I want to set my own ringtones but I can't seem to make it work. I realized that the only format the phone will read for ringtones is .mmf, however when I converted my old mp3's to .mmf it was located in the phone, but the file was invalid and could not play. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this or make ringtones work?
I have many programs to unlock phones such as Samsung A707 and many others,LG Shine and many others and many more.I have uploaded some of my programs on megaload but i guess i can email them to the people who may need them
Word on the street is that there may be a refreshed Samsung Galaxy Nexus coming. I wasrReading over at Android and Me and this thread caught my attention:The rumors state that there is going to be a refreshed camera. Possibly along the way of 8.0MP. On top of that, the processors are scheduled to be refreshed using The faster SGX544 GPU is included with Texas Instruments upcoming OMAP4470 processor. This is the successor to the original OMAP4460 found in the Galaxy Nexus, that includes the older SGX540 GPU.With the Sprint version of the Galaxy Nexus coming soon we'll have to wait and see if they are in fact getting a refreshed model or the LTE based model that Verizon has currently, Either way, I hope they do launch a refresh on the HSPA+ line as well. I use the Galaxy Nexus and while I love the phone, I wish the camera was better. Faster is always better as well so I'll take the processor bump.
I was thinking of buying the s2x telus version from craigslist. I was wondering if someone who bought the phone from telus sells me this phone, would I be able to enjoy the 1 year manufacturer warranty? I understand that the warranty starts when the phone is first bought. I'm just wondering if that warranty will be transferred to me under these scenerios?
1. If the seller had bought the phone from telus outright. a. If the seller has kept the original receipt and gives it to me. b. If the seller has lost the original receipt and does not provide me with it.
2. If the seller had bought the phone as an upgrade. a. if the seller has kept the original receipt and gives it to me. b. If the seller has lost the original receipt and does not provide me with it.
In case I do get to enjoy the warranty, will I be taking my phone to a telus store if it needs repair or will I send the phone directly to the manufacturer? I don't plan to use the phone with the telus network after I purchase it.
I recently got the Samsung T528G from Straight Talk and started poking around in the phone. While they say this phone doesn't have GPS capability, I found some menus for LBS (location based services). Some of the test settings appear to reference GPS locations, specifically in Texas. I am not familiar with all of the options and settings in the LBS screen, but is it possible the phone has GPS capability but it's disabled? If so, does anyone know how to enable it or what settings I might try?
I just purchase my sg2 phone yesterday. Unfortunately, my brother has used my phone last night and register the Samsung account in it by using his email or id. When I tried to change the account, it cannot be done cause I have to do the factory reset in privacy setting (which will erase all my personal info and downloaded applications). I don't want that to happen as well. Plus, my my brother can't even remember what the password he has used for the Samsung account I'm very pissed off now that my Samsung account belong to him and the fact that I can't do the factory reset because of him. I'll mention again, he forgot the password he used for MY SAMSUNG ACCOUNT IN MY SG2.
