Jun 27, 2012SMS Tone Stopped Working Wondering if someone could please help? My SMS notification ringtone has stopped working. I still get the notification in the top left hand corner that the message has been received, I still have sound with incoming ringtone and my alarm sound is still working.I went into settings - sound - volume and it looks good.I went into messages - settings - select ringtone and it looks good.i received a text message and had sound and then downloaded an application and the next text message I received the sound had gone. Don�t know if this had anything to do with it or not or whether its just a coincidence.I would like my sound notification back on my SMS.

Feb 18, 2012Ive had no problems with my sgs2 since getting it apart from battery life being very poor and only lasting a day at work, so a friend told me to turn on the power saving, i cudnt get along with that as i like my phone bright and fast...so i turned it off.
Since doing this my emails no longer update unless i click refresh in the gmail app? im no longer getting notifications for new emails and i cant find any setting to stop this?

Aug 4, 2012I recently upgraded from Gingerbread to ICS and had battery life and overheating issues. I was told by Samsung to do a drain the battery, recharge to 100% and then to a factory reset. I followed these instructions, but now I get the following message on my screen: "Unfortunately, twlauncher has stopped"I can no longer use the phone or reinstall my data from KIES (Kies does not even recognize that my phone is connected). I have tried to reboot in Safe Mode and do a factory reset, wipe cache, and reboot from there, but i still get the same error message about the stopped twlauncher. my phone is unlocked (International European version GT-i9100) and was rooted using SU-Busybox and Recovery Clockwork Touch.

Jun 21, 2011I have a Galaxy S2 and about a week before my contract expired I bought the Galaxy, all was well and everything worked and I was getting all my emails (I am on Gmail) direct to my phone and could view them using the Gmail icon on the front of the Galaxy. A few days ago my contract expired and I am now SIM only and everything has gone downhill since, basically push email has stopped, I have rung my provider and it's obvious that they don't know what they are doing because I have received about four or five different bits of advice/guidance from them and none of the options work. The first option was to set up another email address using the email icon on the Galaxy, I did this (with the same Gmail address) and it does work...but it's intermittent (the social hub is now showing this email address).The problem with this method is that I am sure that the two emails are clashing and push Gmail is still not working although I can retrieve emails via the refresh button (in other words pull email). Another member of staff at my provider claimed that he was an Android expert and he said that any emails sent to my Gmail account should be received by the phone, he added that the SIM card is irrelevant and that I should not have to have extra email bundles etc (which is apparently what I have right now although I did not ask for them). I have checked the manage applications route and I can't select a default email, the box is greyed out so it appears that neither of my email facilities have been selected as a default...is there a way to select default email? I reckon that I should delete the additional email account and try and get the push Gmail account working again....as I said both the accounts have the same email address. In addition although I have synched my calender no dates are showing on my Google email account on my PC, the dates were showing last week but nothing now, I have not changed any of my settings on my phone and the PC since the SIM contract started, apart from setting up another email account. Lastly I can't see a way to back up my phone on Kies Air (via Wi-Fi)..

Fortunately the phone was under warranty, but I lost all dataMy phone got upgraded to ICS. All was well for a week, now wht has happened is , that the phone hangs, most apps I open, hang and all though all messages are read it shows unread 1, also the message notification sound has gone although I receive notification sound for all the other things, like whtsapp, gmail, gtalk etc.

Aug 29, 2011ever since I bought my Samsung Galaxy S II 4 months ago If I connected my laptop the phone would enter 'PC mode' or would say 'PC mode only available when idle' and I would have to close whatever was running at the time, this worked fine for connecting to Kies and syncing my contacts, calendar and updating the firmware etc. For the past week whenever I connect it to a laptop (tried 2) the phone only chargers via USB so I can't get it to work with Samsung Kies. I have tried enabling/disabling USB debugging in the options to no affect. I tried a factory reset assuming that would sort it out and it just the same! how annoying.

Nov 1, 2011In Japan, where I bought my SGS II from NTTdocomo, GPS was always working fine. But since I moved to Germany a month ago GPS has lots of problems. Google Maps as well as other map application seem not to be able to get a GPS fix:
- The map shows a location near me but not accurate.
- In Google Maps there is always a large circle around the location mark, indicating low accuracy.
- Even though I move my physical location, the location mark on the map doesn't update for a long time.
- MyTracks (by Google) constantly shows the message "Waiting for a better GPS fix".
Is my GPS sensor broken or could this be related to using a NTTdocomo branded SGS II in another country? All this is happening with a clearly visible sky.
Samsung Galaxy S II :: Mains Charging Stopped Saying Battery Disconnected
Aug 24, 2011Last week I bought a S2 and the charging from the mains has been fine. I bought another S2 for my wife, and she put this on charge in the bedroom but after a few seconds of putting on charge the charge stopped and it said 'Battery Disconnected'. Tried with my charge which was plugged in and worked OK with mine and it said the same. Tried the charger in a different plug socket in another room and the phone didn't show the message and charged ok overnight. My phone charges OK from the bedroom, but the other doesn't, but it charges ok elsewhere so it can't be any issue with the plug sockets.

Aug 26, 2012I have been dragging and dropping files to my OSX 10.6.8 MacBook happily for a while now, but recently my USB connection has failed to work and Kies keeps dropping out. I used to be able to simply plug the USB cable in, click on the drop-down notification and go from there.However, I now have no drop-down (and yes, I have tried a bunch of different cables), and when I go into USB utilities and go through the rigmarole there, I get stuck in an endless loop where it tells me to plug in the cable, and then tells me the cable is plugged in, and I have to "unplug to connect" - it's all very strange.
I have tried it with debugging both on and off and that does not seem to make any difference. At the same time, Kies now is very sticky, and refuses to find the folders I want. I also have Airdroid, which also is doing silly things and will load one file and no others.Has something happened to my S2 ? Is there an easy step to getting things back on track ? I know it is possible to transfer data of all sorts to the SD card with a reader, but that seems to defeat the purpose of everything - it's also a chore and not easy to do in a hurry.

Oct 28, 2011not long had my s2 and do like it a lot, when trying to use the built in alarm (from going in the clock icon), when ever i try to set time it constantly has the alarm sound as 'good morning' and i am having to set the sound to the sound i want every time i create a new alarm, is there anyway to set the phone up so anytime i create an alarm it will use the sound i want by default?
