View 2 RepliesJust upgraded my wife's phone to the S6 from Verizon Wireless. She had an S4 previously. Problem is with the stock android email app on this phone: On the S4 when she would save an email it would save it to the "Saved email" folder. She could then open the saved emails in that folder and it would have any attachment saved with the email. She could then open the attachment if she wished.
The S6 email app allows her to save an email, but the options menu says it will save the email as a FILE. When accessing these saved emails she discovered only the text of the email was saved. The attachments are not saved with the emails.
This is a completely ridiculous and stupid change by Samsung or Google, whichever is the one who is responsible for that app. I am surprised other users have not complained about this, I did not see anything about this on the 'net when searching.
My wife uses this phone for business and needs to access the attachments in the emails her clients send her. I understand she can save the attachments to the phone, but they go into a location in the "My Files" on the phone. It is a lot easier to access an email from a client, be able to read what they sent, and then open the attachment from within that email. If she has to save the emails and attachments separately there is nothing to link the two together and she would have to do what I think is many unnecessary steps to access both things.
I emailed myself some p12 certificate and key files and was having a problem installing some of them. I hooked up adb and saw the certificate installer getting an exception because of early end of file. After a bunch of debugging and testing I discovered that the email app seems to truncate binary attachments to a multiple of 3 bytes. So a 1 byte file becomes 0, a 4 byte file becomes 3 bytes, etc...
I'm on Verizon and running 5.0.2.
My brother sent me a short 20 second video from his iphone last night he shot of his son and I want to save it to the phone, but so far no luck, any way to work around this or any apps that can doing this, or is this an issue that is hopefully going to be fixed in 8.1?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having a issue with my S6 Edge. Tried to look for a solution but came out empty. When I receive an MMS and save the image, my samsung always names the file imagejpeg_2.jpg. Because of this I have to rename every single picture a receive as an MMS otherwise it will overwrite the picture. Is there any way I can set this option to use sequential numbers like on my other phones?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had less than 7% of battery and I went into Ultra Power Saving Mode where I got only notification upper tab and blank screen below. I reboot my phone but stuck on Samsung logo. How to fix this?
Tried wipe cache in recovery mode and charging phone up to 100% but no luck, still stuck on Samsung logo.
Phone is international S6, not rooted, official. Any options except hard reset?
After activating my Ultra Power Saving mode, I was able to deactivate, however my phone then went into a similar power saving mode, grey scale screen, no apps and no option to exit the mode available on any accessible parts of the settings. Is this a bug? or have I activated a mode I didn't intend to?

I frequently need quick access to these items when I'm out and away from my desktop, and I don't want to dig through a bunch of past emails to re-download the attachment.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded from ios ver 4.something to 5.1.1 on my Iphone 4. I can't open any mail attachments (Jpegs, excel, pdf's). When I click on an attachment it shows that it is downloading the file and then when it is done, the attachment icon blinks and nothing happens. It used to work fine before - I have 2 gmail accounts setup on my phone -they've been on my phone for the past 1yr and working fine. Rebooted the phone by pressing home and power. I deleted the accounts and re-installed with no luck. I went into Mail settings and set images to auto load - no luck. Turned wifi on and off I desperately need this for my work - I've been using Safari to login into Gmail.
