Samsung Galaxy S II :: Can't Receive Picture Messaging MMS
Oct 4, 2012
I'm using Samsung galaxy s2 unlocked from bell. ISP: Fido prepaid account, with unlimited texting add on. I am unable to recieve picture messaging (MMS). Does it require data to recieve data and are you able to use your wifi to recieve mms? When i receive the mms, it just keeps saying download. I have tried enabling data packet but that doesnt work. My VPN settings is:
Name: Fido Internet
APN: fido-core-appl1.apn
Proxy: Not Set
Port: Not Set
User Name: not set
I have problem with texting with the phone so far because I cant receive incoming text (confirmation code AIM, etc). I can text conversation with my friend only if I text them first, otherwise they cannot reach me through text.
In my Galaxy S5, the "My Info" local profile shows the standard avatar, and only my phone number. I previously manually added my own picture, just so I would see my own picture in the messaging app.
Is there a way to link the local contact with my Google+/Facebook/Gmail picture? I have a contact entry for my own info under "Me" that I manually entered in Gmail years ago.
I have an unusual issue I would like some assistance on since I just got a blackberry, I have the Curve 2 8530. I use Total Call Blocking with my carrier so that when I call anyone my number is automatically blocked / restricted. Therefore, in my contact list, I have my friends or family contacts listed with the *82 in front of the number to unblock for those people. This works fine for phone calls.
However, on Text Messaging / Picture Messaging, the *82 will cause these messages to fail. I am used to LG phones, you have the ability to edit the number while creating a message, before your send one of these messages. The problem I am having is when I send a Text Message / Picture Message it appears from the blackberry as only the 10 digit number (even though the contact has *82 in front of it)...and the message shows it is sent (with the check mark) but it NEVER received.
I have an att samsung galaxy s5. I am on straight talk. I finally got to where i can text and send picture text but I still cannot recieve picture msg back.
Everytime I try to sent a picture message from my S6 (Sprint), On my stock messaging app. I press send and picture just disappears and never sends. And when I tried to receive message l, it says downloading but never does very up happy with this rn.
My phone won't let me send or receive pics messages. it saids unable to attach files and when someone tries to send me a pics it saids downloading but never ends. I tried restarting my phone. my data is turned on. what to do
When I am texting using messaging it takes a Long time to load previous messages a long time to type or press the send button. It only freeze when I'm using messaging any other app is fine to use it have rebooted the phone turned it on and off and cleared cache anything else I can do before I send the phone back
I'm not able to add any Instant Messaging accounts at all. Every time I try to add an account through the Social Hub and through the IM app, I get "Error Occurred".I was able to add Gmail and hotmail but I can't add any of the IM programs such as Windows live messenger and Google Talk.My phone is factory unlocked, stock kernel XWKF3.I tried calling Samsung for support, and they just told me to send the phone back, but I know it's not a problem with the phone.
I keep accidentally texting people's landline phones. Is it possible to stop Android rather stupidly offering me people's home numbers and email addresses when composing SMS messages?
When I use the back button to exit from messaging and check in task manager messaging always shows as still active and I can only exit it from task manager. This also happens if I exit messaging via the home key.Would any one know please if this is usual and if so is there a way of exiting messaging so that it does not remain active in the task manager, or is this a fault?
I just restored 23k messages from my old Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant (T959) onto my new Galaxy SIIX using the SMS Restore & Backup App as recommended here and now it lags for 10s everytime I hit 'back' to get out of a conversation and back into the main window.
I opened the Messaging from one of the shortcuts at the bottom.I checked my message. I clicked the back button twice to reach my home screen.I can see that my Active applications shows that Messaging is still running?I had to "Exit" from Messaging through that.My thought was, when I hit the back button frmo the Messaging screen, it should close/exit that from the background (i.e.) it should not list in the Active Applications window?
i just bought sgs2. my phone always hang when i taking a picture. so,i need to shut down my phone before i can take another pic. sometime i need to take off my battery because all buttons not function.
maybe its just me that cant seem to get this, I got my galaxy S II on saturday added my songs from my other phone on it and every thing was fine but about two days ago I noticed for all my songs without the actual album image on it, shows just one picture on all its display.Like have got a song titled Surrender by Barlow girls but the picture on it when I try playing the song is Britt Nicole's lost & found album, and its like that for hundreds of my songs and I just find it extremely annoying.
Somehow some of the contacts on the "Messaging contacts list" have mixed info. For instance the name doesn't match the picture or the name and picture do not match the related cell no. (1) How do I delete the contact entirely? (2) How do I edit the related info? (3) What if for instance my contact changed their cell no. and I need to edit the list or the info on a particular contact?
have received some video/picture messages but i cannot hear anything. my volume is on....i am somewhat sure of that. why can i not hear the sound? i know with the iphone it is automatic. is there something in my settings?
How to remove a photo set as a music album cover. I don't want to do a restore and I didn't set the pic I don't know how it got on there but it is from my photo gallery.
When I open sent or received picture texts, they appear with a white circle and black triangle as if it were a 'play' button. If I click on the pictures, they open as if they were a video, 'playing' anywhere from 5 - 10 seconds with a play bar below. There's no problem opening or downloading the photos, but it's weird/annoying that pictures are opening this way.
Before this morning, every time I would try to send a picture in a text message it would just sit there, 'sending' but never send. It was the same story when someone would send me a picture. It would just sit there 'downloading' but never actually download. This morning I tried looking online for a solution and tried following the instructions I found here for the multimedia message settings. Now when I try to send a picture (or any attachment) I get a message at the bottom of my screen that reads "Currently unable to send your message. It will be sent when service becomes available." The same basic thing happens when someone sends me an MMS, "Currently unable to download. Please try again later".My phone is currently connected via wifi, but I also have packet data activated and I have auto-retrieve on..what am I missing? I am new to smart phones, but this is something that was happening with my old samsung corby as well.
my SGS2 doesn't receive business cards sent via SMS from other mobiles. I receive standard SMS text messages OK, but when someone sends me contact details from their phonebook via SMS, my phone just doesn't receive the message. (I can receive business cards via bluetooth)
I just got a Samsung s6 and can't receive group messages. neither samsung or AT&T can tell me why it won't work. I can send group messages, but don't receive any responses. is it because the other group participants have iPhones? and if so, how do I get around this?
