View 1 RepliesI am trying to extend battery life and kill some native apps. One that shows as a big battery drain is Geo News but I can't find the app to uninstall it. When I go to the Play Store it only gives me the option to install it. This is on my Galaxy S5 which I've had since November and the last couple of weeks I've been going through the battery huge. Trying to follow all the advice here to delete and disable, but so far not terribly successful.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am recently facing disheartening issues with the native e-mail client of Samsung Galaxy S5.All the time the message "e-Mail has stopped" keeps popping up. No matter if I run the client, or not. I had two accounts on that (work & private).
First, it occured just on calling the mails, but then it occured on reading them, too. I tried clearing the cache, clearing the data, force halting the app. And it got worse. While I had to try to look at my e-mails to obtain the error, I now just have to have a lit screen and the message keeps popping every 3 seconds now, even if the app does not run.
I would definitely consider the M8 the problem is that there is no widget for the included email app. That's a key feature. Being able to see my inbox from my home screen is something I do all the time. I don't want to have to buy a 3rd party app for email (and only maildroid offers this at 19.95). Especially since an email client is built in. Any widget that works with the built in email app that will let me see my inbox without opening the app?

View 4 Replies View RelatedBefore this morning, every time I would try to send a picture in a text message it would just sit there, 'sending' but never send. It was the same story when someone would send me a picture. It would just sit there 'downloading' but never actually download. This morning I tried looking online for a solution and tried following the instructions I found here for the multimedia message settings. Now when I try to send a picture (or any attachment) I get a message at the bottom of my screen that reads "Currently unable to send your message. It will be sent when service becomes available." The same basic thing happens when someone sends me an MMS, "Currently unable to download. Please try again later".My phone is currently connected via wifi, but I also have packet data activated and I have auto-retrieve on..what am I missing? I am new to smart phones, but this is something that was happening with my old samsung corby as well.

I just got a Samsung s6 and can't receive group messages. neither samsung or AT&T can tell me why it won't work. I can send group messages, but don't receive any responses. is it because the other group participants have iPhones? and if so, how do I get around this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought my Galaxy S2 on the 21st of July from Carphone Warehouse on a new contract (Panther 30). I've been with Orange for a few years now but it was time for an upgrade.Ever since I've had the phone, I recieve duplicate txt messages from anyone who txts me. It could be Iphone users, Blackberry users, other networks, you name it. I even get multiple txt messages from competetions (you know, when you try win all that gear on The Gadget Show and they send a conformation txt acknowledging your entry). I can recieve up to 5-6 of the same txt message throughout the day (they usually come in quite quickly) and I can even get them days after me first recieveing the original.I went back to Carphone Warehouse for their help but they suggested I rang Orange first to find out if it was a network problem or handset issue.Orange were useless at first but then I got through to technical support team 2. An action was opened and so we tried different solutions.
1. Factory reset of the handset. Didn't work.
2. Put my SIM card into another phone (Samsung D500). Suprisingly this worked and I didn't recieve any duplicates the whole day, which indicated it was indeed a handset problem. We agreed that I should go back to Carphone Warehouse and get a new handset but if the problem continued then I should get back in contact with the same chap in techincal support team 2.
3. Went off to Carphone Warehouse. Got the new handset. Unfortunatly the problem remained. It actually got much worse!
4. Got back in contact with the chap at Orange and he could see on his system that there were error codes and that the recieved txt messages weren't recognized at being recieved, therefore would be sent again and again. All the information we had was sent off the tech boffins at Orange to see if they could think of a solution.
5. Finally Orange came back with an answer, which was that I should try a new SIM card (register it and everything). So they sent one, which has only arrived this morning (took 8days). I've recieved the Orange txt that should come within 24hours and then deleted it and turned the phone off. BUT NO! This hasn't worked either. I've already recieved duplicate txt messages from someone. Three of one, and two of another txt.
I usually have 3bars to full signal where I am so it's not as though poor signal is causing this. Everyone else in the house is on Orange too and doesn't have this same problem. I never did either on my old Nokia 5800. It doesn't just happen at home though. I could be anywhere.
Signal strength (right now), -83dBm 15asu
Mobile network, GPRS (there is no 3G around us so I turned it off).

Android version, 2.3.3
Baseband version, I9100XXKE4
Kernel version, 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKE7-CL215725root@DELL103 #2

I've just upgraded my Galaxy S II to ICS, and since upgrading I can't receive any phone calls from a specific number. However, I don't actually receive any phone call, just a missed call in my call log, with a weird symbol (attached). I can't find this symbol in the user-manual, or via a Google search.I'm on O2, and the caller has a HTC Desire (Froyo) on Vodafone.
View 7 Replies View RelatedAnyway, last night I set my alarm as I normally do before bed and this morning I over slept by a disgusting amount because somehow all of my apps had spontaneously crashed while I was asleep! The force close notification kept coming up for a number of different applications before I was forced to simply turn it off. When I turned it on again a few seconds later, most of my settings had been wiped along with much of the data kept on the actual phone memory. Some stuff was still there, like all my apps, my connections and passwords, but my home screen was defaulted, as were my message tone, ring tone and input settings. Also gone were any phone numbers I had stored on the phone itself as well as all of my inbox messages.
So, I went into the settings to put my screen lock back on because I noticed that had been reset, too. I did the normal routine, picked the pattern, confirmed it and so on. But after I put my phone down and locked the screen, when I picked it back up again and pressed the home key to activate the screen, it was just unlocked. I didn't have to input the unlock pattern. However, when I went back into the settings to make sure they were all okay, it made me enter the unlock pattern to get into it! How odd.
I was able to send and receive text messages on my Samsung Galaxy SII which I have had since July 2012. I am on Bell network. A Bell customer service agent told me that Bell needs to update their towers to accommodate the programs that newerSamsung phones are using.

View 5 Replies View RelatedToday the native calendar (green one) on my Galaxy S5 stopped syncing with my Google calendar. When I checked the settings there were no calendars listed. When I try to add a calendar, the app crashes. In addition to that, all the appointments on my phone have been deleted. The calendar is version 1.0.
It also will not sync to Outlook, which it had done previously.
