I want to use the Gmail app only and I did try uninstall the native Mail app in the applications manager but it is still working in the background even though it no longer shows up in the installed apps list.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI set up my Yahoo mail account on the native mail app on my iPhone 5 using my home wi-fi network. Everything works well. But when i switch wi-fi networks, it can't retrieve my emails. This happened when I'm on my office's network. I do not use cellular data (3G nor LTE). I'm strictly a wi-fi person, either at home, in the office or some coffee shop, restaurant or mall.Â
I forgot the error message, it said "can't connect to server".

I then tried to downgrade to v3.03. It goes through the installation and then my phone reports Unknown error -5.I tested again - it believes I have v3.03(246) already, and again error -5.I check in maps and the version is v3.04I have obviously confused matters.
Do you know how to safely remove all versions so that I can start again with v3.03? I have read a few topics where people have been able to uninstall - but then still can't get v3.03 to install. I dont want to be in that situation

I am recently facing disheartening issues with the native e-mail client of Samsung Galaxy S5.All the time the message "e-Mail has stopped" keeps popping up. No matter if I run the client, or not. I had two accounts on that (work & private).
First, it occured just on calling the mails, but then it occured on reading them, too. I tried clearing the cache, clearing the data, force halting the app. And it got worse. While I had to try to look at my e-mails to obtain the error, I now just have to have a lit screen and the message keeps popping every 3 seconds now, even if the app does not run.
Came from the s4, and the alarm app had a lot of different amounts of snooze duration and number allowed. This app on the s6 has only one 5 minute Snooze option. I know I'm probably being lazy but I would like to change it if I wanted.

View 1 Replies View RelatedToday the native calendar (green one) on my Galaxy S5 stopped syncing with my Google calendar. When I checked the settings there were no calendars listed. When I try to add a calendar, the app crashes. In addition to that, all the appointments on my phone have been deleted. The calendar is version 1.0.
It also will not sync to Outlook, which it had done previously.
I am trying to extend battery life and kill some native apps. One that shows as a big battery drain is Geo News but I can't find the app to uninstall it. When I go to the Play Store it only gives me the option to install it. This is on my Galaxy S5 which I've had since November and the last couple of weeks I've been going through the battery huge. When trying to delete it from play store it says: this app is devuce manager app and it has to be stopped before uninstalling (not 1 for 1 because of translation from hebrew)...
My daughter's S5 (AT&T, stock) is low on storage... I think about 400-500 Mb free. Two problems that I'm not sure if they are related.
First... Trying to free-up space. First thought was to move pictures from the phone memory to the SD card. Using the "My Files" app I always get a "Failed to Move" error message. Also, in the application manager, unable to move any apps from phone to SD card, even those where is shows the move to SD as an option.
Second.. Can't uninstall an app. When I select uninstall I get the "uninstalling" message but it never finishes.
So... unable to move stuff to SD card and unable to uninstall apps. I'm not sure if the phone needs a certain amount of storage for any file operation, whether it be moving files or uninstalling apps. If so, it's a catch-22... can't free up enough space to allow the file operations.
I tried a wipe of the partition cache, but doesn't work.
I usually watch all my tv shows on google chrome, through certain websites. They always had the same video player. and I loved that video player, but recently, I went on a site to watch a show and the video player had changed. Now I can't even watch my shows on that specific site anymore because the fullscreen button is doesn't appear, but it's not the site. It's the video player. On other sites I can watch videos but on this site, the fullscreen button doesn't work with this new video player. I want to factory chrome video player.
(and no I don't want to uninstall chrome updates because chrome looks horrible in it's factory version)

View 1 Replies View RelatedAn OTA update to 5.1.1 loaded last week for my G920I and I am unable to uninstall Knox or disable it. How to do it without root? I am a huge supporter of rooted devices but this one does not have a whole lot of bloat so I would rather keep it unrooted. All the instructions point to a Knox icon and main settings in Knox which I do not have.
Knox is loaded and running and alsmost using up a gig of ram. I had Knox enabled in 5.0.3 before the OTA update and it appears to be enabled still in 5.1.1. I do not care about security and I am careful about what I install and I don't need a system app running and wasting battery and ram.
