Samsung Galaxy S II :: BBC IPlayer Not Showing Video
Apr 28, 2012
This is my first post and I'm new to the Galaxy S2. I took ownership of a new phone early this week (S2) and did the firmware upgrade over Kies - this seemed to make sense given that it was the official latest release firmware.
I tried to use BBC iPlayer last night. The first time I ran it, it said I needed Flash. It took me to the market and I downloaded Adobe Flash 11.0. I tried iPlayer again. All the menus, navigation etc work, but when I select a program it doesn't show any video. I don't even get the little triangle to click on to play it. I went to the iPlayer website and tried viewing from there - I assume that uses Flash as well, and all worked fine, video and sound.
Just bought S2. First smart phone; choose the S2 rather than iPh.
Live just outside London and would like to use my S2 to play programs provided on BBC iPlayer. My S2 came with a BBC iPlayer icon available straight out of the box. When I click the bbc iplayer icon it displays a program that the bbc iPlayer site is promoting (the Graham Norton show in this instance). Firstly I'd like to play any program from iPlayer but when for example I click on Graham Norton show nothing happens but a message shows on the s2 (within the BBC app) stating "Please switch to Wi-Fi connection to play this program" - note: from the settings screen on the S2 I have wi-fi set on (I am also at home, where other devices are using my home wi-fi).
When users send me pictures, my S6 edge chooses to play them as videos, so i have to wait for the picture to pop up, and when it does its super tiny. Any settings I can use to fix this?
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 and the default (stock) video player app is giving me some problems. A few days ago the video player stopped displaying the mini controller (play/pause, rewind, forward) at the bottom of the screen and I can no longer swipe to control volume or brightness like I used to. It does this for all types of videos, whether they are my own or ones streaming from the internet. How can I get this feature back? I'm not sure what I did to make it go away!
I just upgraded to ICS and now my call log screen shows all the incoming text messages I've received as well as the calls. This is the case in both Go Dialer, which I normally use and the native samsumg dialer.
what setting I need to change to make it just show calls again?
Problems with Galaxy s2 rebooting and the signal issue for me is the worst my friends are constantly complaining that they can't reach me getting a message I believe it is because my signal is so weak any other phone I have ever had I have always got full signal bars at home but I am lucky if I get 1 bar with the s2.
I have my SGS2 set to sync facebook/twitter with existing contacts only but when I go to send a SMS the phone shows ALL people on my facebook and twitter. Is there anyway round this?
when Im texting an sms and Im suppose to look up my contact, the Galaxy shows fex 3 options for the very same name (before I even choose one of them), where 2 of these are email addresses and not a phone number. The 3rd option gives me the alternative to choose either the mobile number (which is the option I want..) or again the two email addresses, which is ok. So, the first 2 options coming up here are confusing, and more than once Ive sent text messages that never reached the persons text inbox.. How can I fix this, and clear up my "text contact list" ? (in my Contacts app there is only one contact for this person)
Recording is fine with the stock camera app, BUT none of the other market apps I've tried can record in HD. e.g. 'aLapRecorderHD', 'Daily Roads Voyager', etc. The market Apps seems to record OK @ 720x480 or anything below. All of the apps I've tried produce corrupt HD video with green artefacts all over the screen. They all work OK on my Nexus1 @ both 720p & 1080pCould anyone with a newer firmware?, try one of the above market apps and see if HD video can be recorded?
Just bought the sgs2 and cant seem to send videos to other mobile phones.Keep getting a message showing (Video file to large).Hmm this might be a silly question but here i go.How the heck do i shrink the file.I take it that the file is ment to be MMS? is this correct and ifso how can i change it over.I was told once that you dont need a long neck to be a goose.
I can't find them in any files. They show up on my phone in the gallary. My phone is plugged into computer. I can see pics to transfer them, but no video.
I've got the latest version of Kies 2.3.1.12044_18, and have checked for updates.I'm an UK O2 customer, but with a replacement handset that was provided by an insurance company rather than the original carrier supplied one.Kies says the current firmware version as:
PDA:K14 / PHONE:KI1 / CSC:KE1 (MTL)
And says this is the latest firmware.Which seems incorrect, as the phone is still on Gingerbread.
i did something wrong while transferring images via samsung kies. Now my gallery is displaying images / textures from games etc that i have installed on the phone. Is there any way to fix this to not show these extra images in the gallery?
Starts normally and goes on to charging applications. Start showing messages saying "Sorry! The application TW Launcher has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" and the button FORCE CLOSE Cannot make calls, cannot receive Call, also did try holding the power button in for a while and resetting it that way.
i just bought a samsung vibrant and after looking at videos sample test on Internet. what's the best setting for video on a samsung vibrant? can you tell me the best setup for the settings if i'm trying to record it as hd.
When I was using Nokia N97, I had an option to use video files as Phone's ringtone. I tried to do the same on my GT-I9100 (ICS 4.0.3) but i am not able to do the same.
I have a problem with my new SGS2 and could not find anywhere a solution for this. When I record a video there is no sound recorded also, only the image... In the camera application there is no option for enable/disable this feature like in the SGS1.
I have had my Galaxy SII for around six weeks now and very happy with it but unfortunatly my camera seems to have developed a fault just a few days back. It has three thin black vertical lines down the left of the screen if i view as a portrait or along the bottom if viewed as landscape. The lines are always on the screen when the camera display is active and in any pic or video I would take.
I'm very new at using Android, and followed a bunch of tutorials to root and delete all the bloatware apps that my gs2 came with.I replaced the stock camera app with Camera Zoom FX, and noticed that the app would crash and force close when I tried switching to video mode.I installed other video-recording apps only to find that they would crash as well.My camera works fine but I think I may have deleted somethin relating to video-recording; is there a way to restore the function
Who has used the GS II for Video Conferencing? Is it possible to use AllShare while Video Conferencing so I can see the video feed and sound on a large screen TV or Projector?
My new galaxy s5 has the Lollipop update....my notifications don't show up on locked screen....In my settings I have it set to show up....I have did a hard reset and factory reset and it still doesn't work....
I just got the s2, and i have 4 email accounts (2 work, 1 hotmail, 1 gmail). I have them configured and working, but they are all under the standard mail app (white envelop with blue @). When I get a new message, this icon will show how many unread messages there are. But, it shows for all of my accounts. I'm trying to have separate apps/icons for each email address that'll show some type of "unread messages" notification on the icon itself. Came from a blackberry and i had 4 individual accounts setup, each would have a red star if there was an unread msg in that account. I tried the hotmail and the gmail apps but they don't seem to show anything like this either.
