At the moment I have several wifi networks which have higher priority than the gprs data connection. But when i start web browsing it automatically chooses the gprs connection. Why is that?

the problem is the connection gprs is start automatically , when i use the chat or nimbuzz or ebuddy the gprs start automatically i can't work the apliquation with WLAN !

Although it's cumbersome I'm managing, but the native web browser always chooses the wrong access point without giving me any option to choose the other. View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using ovi maps v3.01 on my 5730 XM, and whenever I open the maps application it connects to the internet using the gprs connection without asking for about 3 seconds then disconnects. and I have the setting to 'go online at startup' disabled. I get charged by the day so i want to prevent connection every time i open the maps.

For the determination of the location only the internal gps is switched on. I don't want any roaming connection to internet during my stay in Spain.Starting OVI maps pops-up immediately the question for a connection to GPRS which I canceled.It is, if a connection is made to GPS, possible to find my possition but finding a route to a address doesn't work. All I get is the question to connect to GPRS and if I canceled that nothing happens, in other words it was not possible to search for a location / planning a route.Do I something wrong or is this standard behaviour of OVI maps?

I have got settings from reliance from GPRS, WAP and MMS setting.The problem faced is whenever, I connect to opera mini browser, it connecting for 3 minutes and shows failed to connect to the internet. I thought, it is GPRS setting or network problem. But, after lot of enquiry with Reliance, they forwarded the settings.

I just got my invoice today and it claims that a lot of times I used the internet, while I only allowed the GPS to use the internet once. What can be the reason for this? View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using the Lumia 800 for the past three days and am in love with the phone. Works beautifully on WiFi the naviation once the maps are downlaoded is perfect and the touch and feel of the phone is absolutely brilliant.A sore point in the past three days is the patchy connection to GPRS on Airtel India. I have spent a few hours with their tech support and they are unable to get me online. I have update the firmware to the latest avaialble - 1750.0805.8773.12220 with no luch in connecting to the GPRS connection. The display shows an "E" next to the signal strength indicator but no luck in conncting.
The steps I have tried so far are as follows: a. Settings - Mobile Netwok - APN set to airtelgprs.com which is recomended. b. Used the default Network Setup software to update the settings,Reset the phone to uninstall all applications and bring back to default state assuming that one of the software issued caused this problem. Is there anything else for me to try before I take it to a Nokia Care centre for trouble shooting?

View 9 Replies View Relatedfirst of all i had the problem that the programm was unable to download the content of the mms after it arrived, it only worked after i manually started a internet connection. but after that hell broke loose! every single time i opened the ovi store via icon, refreshed the weather app or tried to refresh the email client the n900 would all of a sudden pick the mms connection over my provider internet connection although my provider internet-connection was set to up under "settigs"->internet connections. i had to deinstall fmms and had to remove the mms-internet connection point using fapn. a total mess..

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy phone will no longer automatically connect to saved WiFi networks. It knows they're there, because if I go to Settings -> WiFi, it shows up in the list as a "saved" one. Tapping on it and selecting "connect" does nothing. I have to turn off the WiFi and turn it back on, and it will then automatically connect.
Additionally, WiFi will not stay off. If I'm some place I don't want it to connect to WiFi, I turn it off so that I don't get messages that networks are available (specifically when I'm driving, it's really annoying to deal with that over Waze).
I've got a Sprint GS5, running stock (not rooted), on 5.0. No updates available for the phone. It does this on every WiFi network I have saved (home, school, and school apartment, among others). I've also tried turning Smart Switch off and on, it makes no difference for either issue.
When I use the browser application that came with the phone (earth logo), the internet connection got interrupted randomly. Sometimes it's 20 sec and sometimes it's 5 min.It doesn't really matter where I use it, school, home or other Wifi areas.I was told there's no solution to this problem. it's just a known Nokia issue, but I believe there's got to be something I could do. I tried downloading another browser from Ovi. It worked fine on WiFi without password/security. But when it comes to school's network or other password-protected Wifi, it is not able to connect without using the orginal browser to connect first and leaving it on while using the new browser.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't get past the checking connection stage on my phone. I live behind great CHinese Firewall. When I first got the phone I set it up at work which has a VPN-ized network. I waited until my holidays (now) to unlock, root, etc.
However, I do not have access to vpns that are router based - only computer based. I can't seem to share these connections to get the Nexus to register and check a connection - phone times out rather than taking suggested 2 minutes. I can't seem to skip the process either. I CAn't get back to work at the moment so I am left with 'Couldn't connect to the Internet' message and of course LTE won't work either as it's behind the great firewall.
How to gain access to my phone?
Got a problem with my 5800 - just today, the touch screen has started being odd. It sometimes works perfectly but then i try and press a button on the left hand side of the screen and it chooses the one at the right-hand side. This obviously makes everything very difficult! Any ideas as to why this might be/how I could repair it? I've tried the touch screen calibration about 10 times, it sorts it out for about a minute.I can send it to Nokia to replace but I could really do without sending my phone away

On the phone it shows as eather and x over the smartband icon, or that the SmartBand apps says 'Connecting' without anything happens. Some times it's enough to turn of the smartband other times i need to reboot the phone to get the connection up and running.

I've got all the altest SW for Z5 (32.0.A.6.200) - SmartBand (05.00.12 - 1.7.0.873) and Lifelog (2.9.A.3.8)Since I use the smartband to wake me up in the morning, it's very enoying that it don't work. Until now I've managed to wake up by myself...The phone is charging over night, and in the cradle, with the sound turned of. The phone is turned of with the exeption for notifications. The phone is set to vibrate and make a soft low sound. The Smartband is set to vibrate. If the connection is droped during the night, neighter the phone nor the smartband gives any indication on the alarm.

I've experienced that the phone and the smartband is vibrating, but there are no sound from the phone. Another version is that the phone is vibrating and making a sound, but the smartband don't vibrate. Before going to sleep i check that the phone is turned down, and that the connection to the smartband is OK.
