Recently purchased an N900 and I use SIP for voip calls. My workplace supports video through our Voip system.I have two issues. When the 'camera' button does show up on the call options, my phone freezes, or it doesnt show up at all. I have checked the codecs our system uses and I can't figure out a logical reason why it wouldn't work.
Since both Skype and Fring fail at providing any video support from calls to PCs, do we N8 users have any other option at all?For the developers out there, just how much effort would it take one to learn Qt and write a simple calling application (no contact management, P2P) ?
I bought a Lumia 900 for my girlfriend. She really wants video calling, and while, my phone is capable of it, it doesn't have the comfort of skype, so we have no choice but to use 3G+ video calling through the operator, which should be fine with my subscription, except, her Lumia doesn't seem to work with this variety of video calling. .
I can use my phone to video call other phones, but not a Windows Phone. Our operator's Customer Service agents aren't exactly familiar with Windows Phone, so they seem clueless. I can't resort to Skype-to-operator type of calling, because then I'd have to pay for Skype Credits AND her 3G. .
In a nutshell, I need ideo calling without using Skype or Tango.
Model: Nokia Lumia 900 OS Version: WP 7.5 Issue: 3G+ Video Calls (without using Skype/Tango/etc)
The main reason for me to buy the 5630 is the video phone feature. But I'm not yet sure, how to do this. On the PCs I use both Skype and SIP. Now I installed Skype on the 5630 and can do the "Skype testing call" w/o problems via WLAN, but I'm not sure how to activate the video function. Does it work? If so, how? Or do I have to use SIP for video telephony instead of Skype?
Whenever I use my phone (N95 - RM159 v 31.0.017) for video calls or broadband connection the phone getting restarted automatically and it is getting unusual heat as well. So my video calls end up after 3 - 4 minutes talking time and I lost some important calls as well. Please help if you know how to solve it. The problem still persist even after I updated the firmware.
i want to use it to make video calls and everyone I ring, it says' not supported. I would have thought I could use the latest nokia n8 to video call the latest appie iphone 4 - it is just crazy that you can't . I tried using fring as well, but that doesn't seem to work either - they say 'free' video calls, but I can't see that it is free, they try to charge you?
This is the second time I'm downloading skype to my Nokia mobiles, The first mobile was Nokia N97 and the current is Nokia E6, Still can not make video calls or even see the caller! Do i have to download a support software ?
When will Nokia make Tango or any other video calls application available on Nokia Belle mobiles, such application are very imoprtant to have, and Nokia should invite the developers to make such applications compatible with our Nokia latest mobiles.
Experiencing super low microphone volume when using hangout calls on speakerphone/video calls? The other person i'm calling says they can barely hear me.
Basically is there a Fring alternative now that it has pulled Skype support? I'm looking for a way to video call using iPhone 4's front and rear cameras to the Skype client on a computer.
When using video chat apps such as Google Hangouts with Z2, I experienced severe audio echoing throughout the call.
I understand the usual way to solve this issue is to use headset. But this echo issue wasn't so bad with my previous devices (Z, Tablet Z)
Echoes on Z2 starts as soon as I speak and it doesn't end until I mute the microphone. It's also loud enough to make me unable to hear anything from the other end of the call.
is Xperia Pro capable to make traditional video calls over UMTS networks in Europe? I mean to make video calls dialing another GSM recipients, similarly to voice calls. Not the video connections via i-net, ie. VoIP!In "Your first impressions about Xperia pro" thread I wrote (Feb 17, 4:34 PM):"(...) Although this is not clearly spelled out in White Paper, video connections are restored at last. This also applies to video calling, as I guess.Am I right? If so, that's great - in the era of VoIP and video chat - this option is required.Correct me if I am wrong about video calling. As long there is no LTE, regular video calling (via UMTS) is a necessity..."I didn't get clear answer for it.In We know you have questions about the Xperia neo - We have answers! user rspete wrote:"hi, i'm thinking of joining the sony ericsson family, coming over from nokia! but i use video calling quite a bit to talk to my family when working away,my wife also has a nokia that we use for this.will the xperia neo be able to video call to a nokia or likewise? i.e over the air ( 3g ) ..." All the answers he got was VoIP concerned, ie. Skype, Fring, etc. I think in this case (rspete) it was misunderstanding. Wasn't it? So how it is with Xperia Pro - can I make video calls without connecting to the web? Just via UMTS (3G)?
As Defy has no front facing camera is there anyway that we can make a video call? Even if its only somenoe seeing us and we not seeing them? What software would I need to use to achieve this.
Way to make free video calls on htc chacha. Like iv heard fring works and even seen works, but is thre anyone who has done it, i want to make video calls on htc chacha.
I'm unpleasantly surprised to discover that the Photon is not an approved device on the Skype android app and there is no way to change that on the Photon's settings. Is there a workaround or am I missing something?
Why video call are not possible on xperia ray ? All 3G networks include now 3G video call at the same price as classic call. I mean by "video call" real video call, not call using internet network (over WIFI or 3G) that needs special application on both mobile phone (google talk, face time).
Video calls allows to call any mobile phone. These feature was a standard before android. My old Nokia supports it. So why SE android phones doesn't support it whereas Samsung allows it? Moreover, if video call are not supported front camera is useless whereas nearly all old 3G phones can uses video call.
I recently bought Xperia 10. I tried to install skype to make video call. It is not getting installed and it is saying I cannot. Considering smartphone, it should be definately there. I want to make video call using xperia 10 and skype is the best solution. Why is it not supported on xperia 10.
