Nokia :: 5630 XM / How To To Do Video Calls On Skype?
Jun 12, 2010
The main reason for me to buy the 5630 is the video phone feature. But I'm not yet sure, how to do this. On the PCs I use both Skype and SIP. Now I installed Skype on the 5630 and can do the "Skype testing call" w/o problems via WLAN, but I'm not sure how to activate the video function. Does it work? If so, how? Or do I have to use SIP for video telephony instead of Skype?
Basically is there a Fring alternative now that it has pulled Skype support? I'm looking for a way to video call using iPhone 4's front and rear cameras to the Skype client on a computer.
I'm unpleasantly surprised to discover that the Photon is not an approved device on the Skype android app and there is no way to change that on the Photon's settings. Is there a workaround or am I missing something?
I recently bought Xperia 10. I tried to install skype to make video call. It is not getting installed and it is saying I cannot. Considering smartphone, it should be definately there. I want to make video call using xperia 10 and skype is the best solution. Why is it not supported on xperia 10.
the 5630 comes with a nice function to read text messages aloud. However, this function works only with UK English. Most messages I receive, are not in English, as I'm currently in Germany and bought the phone in Germany. Any chance to get other support for other languages, esp. German and Spanish on the phone?
Can someone tell me how to call a PC with skype from my new Droid Razr with skype? I don't know how to add someone's PC address to my Droid address book.
After yesterday's update, skype video calling now works on the triumph. It does not show in the supported devices list, but I have tested it and was able to videoconference.
First of all, I cannot seem to get the touted video call working through skype. It is a neat feature and I would like to use it. I have read other complain about the poor quality of the webcam, but I cannot seem to get it started, period. How is that done? I don't see any option to make a video call and / or start video during a call. Is it a defective phone, or is it something else?
Secondly, T-mobile lets you dial #646# in order to check your balance, yet the phone says this is an invalid number. Is there any workaround for this?
I have loaded Skype from the Ovi store onto my E72. I have successfully made a voice call, but was unable to figure out how to make a video call! Could you please give me some advice on what I should be doing to get a video call going.
I have just tried to do a video call to a Skype account, but the video doesn't show. I can't see my contact and they can't see me.All i get is a square with an avatar in it. How do I enable video calls for Skype so that we can both see each other?I do have the new firmware update too.
I have been happily using N900 for Skype video calling. When I first received my phone I was told by my phone company that N900 supports video calling without using Skype(using mobile numbers to other compatible phones via the 3G network)My partner also has a N900 and is not able to make Video Calling either, where when we both had an E72 we had no problems at all.I called Nokia 2 months ago and they said that in Australia, they will have video calling to mobile numbers very soon for the N900. Can anyone at Nokia tell me when this is happening? This was one of the main reasons I bought the N900 as it is promoted to have video calling on 3G as well as Internet (Skype or other).I am keen to use video calling as I work with clients who don't necessarily have Skype, but use video calling nonetheless.
Can any of you confirm how is the Video Clarity whilst making Video calls on Skype. is the Video and call clarity good enough.I guess not many people have tried this since the PR 1.2 release. Dont see any posts so far on people confirming it?
My Nokia N9 is Skype ready - I can see my contacts, I can chat with them - but I cannot share video stream with them. I have tried to go to an Options or Setup menu - there is no such menu! Skype is even not listed in the application list. Does it mean it is just a "client" only? Can I get full Skype on my N9?
Like the title says, how do you possibly delete the video call history in the integrated Skype Video app? The history shows, but when you long press on one it just pops up "details." There is no way to delete the history. If you go into phone settings and under privacy turn off access to call history for Messaging+Skype, then app will no longer load/work.
cant use my video call using skype in my xperia play, i tried my video call on google chat and it worx, but in skype, the laptop of my colleague who tries to call me on my skype mobile, crashes, im using data plan/3g
Recently purchased an N900 and I use SIP for voip calls. My workplace supports video through our Voip system.I have two issues. When the 'camera' button does show up on the call options, my phone freezes, or it doesnt show up at all. I have checked the codecs our system uses and I can't figure out a logical reason why it wouldn't work.
and other facebook to 2.0, maps to (3.07), camera img.quality, supports to more new HDgame apps, nokiabrowser to (7.3.1.33), or to symbian anna OS as announced in conversations for s60^5?
i read somewhere that there has been an updated skype and it now lets more android devices to make skype video calls, if so can anyone tell me how? i have skype installed but i cant find the video call option anywhere.
Just got my phone yesterday but there appears to be no support for video Skype. Does anyone know if this is to force you to use Google Talk or will Skype eventually be working with RAZR.
