Basically is there a Fring alternative now that it has pulled Skype support? I'm looking for a way to video call using iPhone 4's front and rear cameras to the Skype client on a computer.

The main reason for me to buy the 5630 is the video phone feature. But I'm not yet sure, how to do this. On the PCs I use both Skype and SIP. Now I installed Skype on the 5630 and can do the "Skype testing call" w/o problems via WLAN, but I'm not sure how to activate the video function. Does it work? If so, how? Or do I have to use SIP for video telephony instead of Skype?

The history shows, but when you long press on one it just pops up "details." There is no way to delete the history. If you go into phone settings and under privacy turn off access to call history for Messaging+Skype, then app will no longer load/work.

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust got a loan iphone 5 today while my Dad's phone has been sent for repair, it has sound on facetime but not on calls or skype. I have checked volume is on, cleaned the speakers and it isn't connected to anything. Is this a hardware fault or is there a way of fixing it?

I know this may be speculation but this may be the deal breaker for me to get the next phone. I have a child off to college pretty soon who uses skype video regularly with her friends and I will assume with me also. I have actually gotten the skype video to work on my little Nokia N79 fairly well and would like my next phone to also have this capability so I can talk with her when she's away but I am not near my computer.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen making or receiving voice calls via my network operator's service, no one can hear me, i.e my audio input. I can hear the person on the other end of the phone fine but they can't hear me whatsoever. However when I use the likes of viber, skype and facetime, my audio input is perfectly fine and the person on the other end of can hear me. Note both viber and skype calls work just fine and 2 way communication is audible regardless if I have a 3G or Wifi connection. Plus I have full signal bar strength when near a mobile tower so that eliminates antenna issues. Also have taken alternative turns to cover both the top mic and the bottom mic during a viber or skype call and my audio input can still be heard. I've done a reset, a hard reset of the phone and a reset of the network settings, still to no avail. Have updated iOS to the latest version 5.1.1.

First of all, I cannot seem to get the touted video call working through skype. It is a neat feature and I would like to use it. I have read other complain about the poor quality of the webcam, but I cannot seem to get it started, period. How is that done? I don't see any option to make a video call and / or start video during a call. Is it a defective phone, or is it something else?
Secondly, T-mobile lets you dial #646# in order to check your balance, yet the phone says this is an invalid number. Is there any workaround for this?
Is Skype Video not available? It doesn't seem to work. I thought they had released video to the android market.
