Nokia 5230/N900 :: Any Audio Adapter / Remote For It?
Feb 16, 2010I have a nice audio adapter for my e90 (hs-45/ad-46). I has 3.5mm plug, remote control for music player (play/pause, stop, next, previous), a microphone and answer/hang up button and a 3.5mm socket to plug in your favorite earphones.I tried it on my son's 5230, the music can be heard but the buttons don't work. I would like to use a similar device on the N900 I'll get in few days, but perhaps the remote won't work on it either(?)Is there any wired old-school audio adapter/remote for 5230 or N900? Nokia website lists wh-701 as compatible with 5230 and it even ships with N900, but it has fixed in-ear headphones that don't fit me.If there isn't a compatible audio adapter available at the moment please make one.

Aug 31, 2010cool new application that allows you to get access to all your files/folders on your n900 from any pc with IE or another browser so long as you are on wifi.
there are two parts to install:
tiny smb & tiny smb gui.install the server first then the gui.
if you have rootfs installed:
open xterm
sudo gainroot
apt-get install tinysmb
apt-get install tinysmbgui
to get it to work and find out what your ip address is on the n900,
open xterm
/sbin/ifconfig wlan0 | grep inet
then go to your computer, open a browser that is connected to the same network, and type in the ip address of the n900 and you will see all your files/folders pop up like explorer.

Jan 11, 2010I got a replacement n900 and sent my setting to the device(three network) but it wont access the web,it does connect cos i see the two little arrows appear for connection,strangely my previous n900 worked fine,allso it works fine with wlan,any ideas?

Apr 26, 2010i realy your help in this one, now i live in Lebanon, and i'm searching for a n900, but the other day my freind told that you can't check for your balance in your phone operartor, is that true, were i live, you need to recharge your phone in before you make phone calls, send messages etc, and to see how much dollars(or what ever its called) you still have in what you have recharged, you need to press *11# and than the green button, and than a message shows up showing you your phone operator balance, is it true that that can't be done on the n900? i like it how i can overclock the n900 from 600 mhz to 1000 mhz in less than 30 sec.

Apr 10, 2010I bought an E72 some days ago, so my E71 it's free to do some tests.I always wanted to test the "Remote Wipe". According with some web pages (I didn't verified thru specs), E71 has a "Remote Wipe" feature.It works by remote locking and after that, trying 5 passwords, with no luck.I tested, and E71 only says "Too many retries, the phone will be unlocked in 5 minutes" or something like that (the message is in Spanish, so the real English message vary).But, after trying with too many passwords, the phone does not self-wipe.So This feature is for real? Or is just a web hoax?

Jan 23, 2010I have got a new E72 and very please with it so far. I have downloaded the SKY app that allows you to remote record, again no problems but I can't log in to it as I can't get the kepbord to produce numbers ! It does so for any other application, but not this. I have tried copy and pasting the log in details from a word doc, etc etc but it does just not recognise the numbers , just repeats the letter being pressed ! This means I can't log in.

Nov 12, 2011I installed the CK-200 last weekend. Unfortunately the remote managed to work its way off the steering wheel and completely disappear within three days.I've asked about 20 different suppliers whether they stock replacement remotes and they all say no. I asked Nokia UK Support and they tell me to contact suppliers as they no longer have an online shop.Can someone please put me in the direction of a replacement part? Surely a company of Nokia's stature must have a parts supply chain somewhere?!?

Jan 11, 2011There seems to be a bug with remote locking on the E5 (where you send a text message with a pre-defined keyword to lock the phone if lost/stolen, etc) - it works, but then keeps requesting the lock code when switched on, even after it has been entered correctly. Disabling remote locking stops lock code request at startup but then you can't lock it remotely! Re-enabling remote locking makes the problem continue, even if lock code is changed in the mean time.Nokia customer services were useless and didn't understand what I was talking about.

Jun 6, 2010I've just enabled the remote phone locking feature on my S60 mobile device; that is the message text to be sent via SMS to lock the phone and the security code (default 12345).I've sent several times from another mobile phone the security text message via SMS keeping in mind that it is case sensitive. Unfortunately when I receive the lock SMS on my S60 device it does not work. The message arrives as a normal SMS; it is possible to read its content as in case of normal short text messages.What could be the problem? Can you help me to figure it out?

Sep 10, 2011I bought my E6 a week ago and I just now tried to connect it to my pc via bluetooth. Amongst the normal services my pc found was some service " remote control". Can somebody please tell me if that can really function and how? And by the way i read all of the discussion about the batterylife, mine was holdin 3-4 days but i found out that it was because of Whatsapp. So the app forced the phone to connect to wifi all the time, even if the App is completely shut down. And we all know there isn't a wifi-shutdown function, so the phone stayed all night connected to wifi. I deleted Whatsapp just for experiment and since wednsday morning untill now I still have 50% battery, with some internet surfing music and so on.

I get a white screen, and see no virtual Nokia Interface. ( I wrote 2 times to Remote Professional since I have a registred version. I did never get an answer))) Is there a decent software application wich provides this functionality without problems. I have an older WM 5 device, and that is more reliable than this Nokia Device, it misses however radio and max SD card space for 2 GB but the virtual PDA on my Netbook was running without problems.

Jan 27, 2010I am having problems with nokia headphone remote problem. I have nokia 5800, when i plug my headphones in my phone i can only hear in the right ear but the left ear doesn't work. If i plug only the headphones without the remote it works on both ears. I can't figure out how to make the remote work in the left ear, is it a phone setting problem or is the remote broken? Anyone else having this problem? I need the remote because if i only use the headphones without it it would be too short and won't reach my ear ......
