Mar 16, 2010I back up my mobile thru th pc suite..and i update the phone to newer version.when I restored my files back i found that the memory card content did not restored at all while i was backing it up? how can i restore my memory card content back?

everything was working fine until I updated the Ovi Suite to v 2.1.1.245 then phone wouldnt sync anymore. I restore the computer back to the date before the Ovi suite was updated taking it back to v 2.1.1.1. now the phone still wil not sync. any ideas ? (Im syncing with the usb cable). I often get a messege telling me to set my phone to "set my phones usb mode to ovi suite or PC Suite" which I do of course but no success just fails to sync evrytime now. wish I had nevver tryed to update the ovi software now.

Jun 8, 2010I just bought a N97 Mini because of the free navigation. Using the phone for calls works fine, however I cannot connect it to Ovi Suite. Somehow Ovi Suite keeps on trying to contact my phone, which is connected via the USB cable. I've installed and removed Ovi Suite a couple of times, but it still doesn't work. Even synchronisation of contacts doesn't work.
Software version is 11.0.102. (adapted version 11.0.102.c01.01)
PC is XP and I've downloaded the latest Ovi Suite.
Nokia :: Connection Fails Between N97 Mini And Ovi Suite
Jul 15, 2010I have had many kind of problems connecting my N97 mini with my laptop but have finally hitted the edge in this issue and didn't find an answer existing here. When I updated my Ovi Suite to the latest version the connection to my N97 mini was cutted off. This was maybe two weeks ago and I haven't been able to connect the phone to the laptop with PC suite connection form ever since (and no further updates available). I can sure connect with the Ovi Music in other connection forms and store the music to my phone but any connections with the Ovi Suite fails. There for I cannot sync my photoes or address book or get the new updates by my computer. What could I do to get the connection back? Install an older version again? Where to get one?
Today I checked the program updates with my phone application and there is software version 12.0.110 available to upload. Well, my phone does offer for other updates to "start to update" but this one gives only option to "update via computer" (I don't know the exact terms for the option written in the quotes since I use my Nokia in Finnish). How could I get the updates to my phone via computer when I cannot connect with the Ovi Suite anymore?

Aug 21, 2010When syncing pictures with PC suite the files on the PC get the sync date. Is it possible to set the file date to the date the picture was made? Or is it recommended not to use the PC suite and just copy the pictures over?

Aug 16, 2010I recently plugged my Nokia N97 mini into Nokia Ovi suite for the first time in weeks to manage some of my pictures. When I go into the pictures section and view those on my phone,3 pictures appear that are months old,and I was sure I had deleted from the phone.When I go to delete them it tells me the deletion has failed,and the pictures stay there.I can't find them anywhere on my phone by going though its menus,or by going through the folders in my computer! Apr 8, 2010I am using Windows Vista, and am using Suite version 7.1.40.1 and connect my phone (a Nokia 6600 Slide) with a USB cable.The problem I'm having is that when I view my messages on my computer, it doesn't recognise a majority of the messages from my favourite contact, whether the messages are in a folder in the "saved items" section, or in the inbox itself.It's very frustrating because I want to save the messages onto my computer, but I can't save them if the PC Suite isn't recognising them. Mar 29, 2010Using the latest Ovi suite (updated through updates, not sure v number though). I received an X6 today. Seems pretty nice so far. However, had some issues transferring text messages between phones - it broke the dates on the MMS and left me with a bit of a messy inbox on my X6. So, I synced messages using Ovi suite from my old N82, and they all copied onto my PC fine. However, if I now connect my X6 to my PC and hit sync messages, it just says 'done', and doesn't copy my messages from my PC to my X6. Is there any way to do this? I'd like to keep all my old texts from my N82 and transfer them to my X6.

My problem is that when I open the Nokia Communication centre in PC suite (messages), I see the following issues in the messages.For example, if the total number of messages in inbox is 250, in the PC suite, it is listed as a number less than 250 (e.g 242 or so). On a closer look, I discovered that a few of the messages are "mixed up" with other messages.For example, let's take the two messages:
"Hello, how are you? Hope you are fine?"
"Where are you, and when will you be coming?"
In PC suite, the two messages sometimes are merged together as one message in a jumbled manner like this "Hello, hoWhere are you, an w are you? Hope you are fine? d when will you be coming?"However, they will be visible as "normal" in the phone inbox when I check in the phone screen.This issue happens on PC suite in both Nokia 2330 and 2730 in both inbox and sent items. I uninstalled PC suite, cleaned out my system registry and reinstalled PC suite, but the same problem occurs.Any ideas on why this issue is happening?

Nokia :: 7373 Incorrect Amount Of Messages Shown In PC Suite?
Jun 6, 2010I am using the latest PC Suite 7.1.40.1. My phone is a 7373. When I connect with PC Suite (either Bluetooth or USB able) it is *constantly* showing me less messages on my phone then I really have. E.g. I have 782 message in a folder, but it shows me only around 600. And for other folders too. A few look normal. Even breaking up folders into more doesn't help. When I look at some messages, then PC Suite seems to concatenate a lot of messages into one message.And also when backing up messages, this backup is totally garbled and useless concerning my messages. My memory is running low on the phone, so I desperately want to save/export them on a card, but this way i can never do this and messages get lost (Btw on my phone itself everything is normal.

Oct 28, 2010I had faced this issue when i last updated my phone when the 2.1 had come out.. I installed the latest Backup and Restore application as recomended by the SE update site.. Then backed up my files onto an already existing backup (which i think has corrupted the backup), hence overwriting the file.. After that i upgraded to 2.1 and restored my files, which failed because the contacts were not successfully imported (even though the Backup and Restore app said that the import was succesful.)
i was asked to repair the firmware using PC companion and hence want to backup succesfully without any problems. I cant risk loosing my contacts again. And i want to know from others in this forum if they have faced this issue on normal backup (not overwritten on an existing backup). [URL]

Jun 18, 2010I used the Ovi suite to install the free maps on my E72 which work great but the software itself is very poorly written, too many bugs and problems so i would like to uninstall it and use the PC suite instead. can I now update my phone using the PC suite with it's updater software or do I have to now rely on the Ovi suite.
The reason I ask instead of having two pieces of software is i want to a Vista/XP (two machines) clean install followed by a Ghost DVD so the smaller image the better (plus i dont like to have **bleep** installed on my machine:-)

I have a Nokia E71, and i was using Nokia PC Suite to sync it with my outlook 2007 it all worked fine, contacts, to do notes and calendar (i wasn't syncing mail cuase i use gmail), untill the new ovi suite came out and i decided to try it since It sounded better.turns out It really sucked this ovi suite!! one of the worst softwares I've ever used, it duplicated all of the appointments that had color categories in outlook 2007, it is dead slow to sync!!!(i mean reeeaaly slow), even tough the Suite integrates more stuff in to one place it has reduced funcionality to sync stuff with my phone, it offers less funtions, not to mention that the user interface sukcs (its poorly desingned, it takes long to accses stuff, it shows me stuff as if it was advertisement).PC suite was very simple but funcional, oviously i went back to pc suite, to my surprise i couldn't sync, pc suite & the phone would do as if they were syncing, but when i checked at the end it wouldn't sync stuff.

Jan 12, 2010I lost all my Text Messages eventhough I did a backup and restore using Content Copier. What I did was:
1) Backup my n95 using Content Copier (backup log is shown down below)
2) upgraded my n95 to the latest firmware and it was a success
after the upgrade it deleted all my Text Messages
3) Restore using Content Copier: Contacts, Calendars, etc. were restored except none was restored on any of my Text Messages folders (Inbox, Sent, etc.) are all empty.
What did I do wrong given the log even stated I can transfer the Text Messages to another phone?

Apr 15, 2010Have a N900. Got the phone to work against Smart Suite and later Ovis Suite very well for the first 3 weeks. Then the trouble started. I used it both with USB cable and BTooth. First my synchronization with Lotus Notes calendar stopped (have to go by the PC), then contacts and messages. And today it does not even recognize the phone as a compatible phone. In the whole period I have been installing all kind of applications. My suspicion is that the trouble is due to an installation of a particular application - my question is:Anyone that got an idea what might have caused this??
