Dec 24, 2011
I download the latest version of the program (Nokia PC Suite 7.1.180.46).In the messages part of the program, Messages does not supported the Unicode characters.
Got my nokia 5800, really happy. Installed Chinese as my second language on the mobile dictionary..... and the phone won't display the unicode characters. How can i get Chinese language support on my nokia?
I am planning on buying x10 mini pro.i am clueless if this is the case for x10 mini.cause on my W995 the Japanese characters are displayed. If it is supported, i wonder is there anyone with the Euro. vers. of x10 mini able to write and send sms in Japanese or Korean??
I've just bought a Nokia Lumia 920. It has a Hindi keyboard and I can type and see Hindi characters. However, when I visit a Bangla (Bengali) website I only see a string of boxes. Do I need to install Bengali fonts? If so, how? Or is Unicode not supported mobile windows (Symbian)?
Recently I purchased new Nokia X6. In the phone i am unable to read South Asian Unicode fonts. All i see is series of boxes. How to Install new Unicode fonts in X6?
I want to read unicode Malayalam text(in email, web site etc) in Nokia E71 mobile. Is there any way to do this? I tried copying unicode font resource/fonts folder(Fonts folder was not there, i created it). But no use.
While browsing blogs, I found that nokia browser doesn't support unicode. I tried with Opera 10 too. Any way to see unicode fonts on Nokia N8. I tried changing the internet settings on my mobile by selecting Unicode (UTF8/UCS2) as default setting and restarted the device. Tried to download some third party tools but the mobile doesn't support those.
recently i did a hard reset on my n8 belle. After a hard reset i can't able to see unicode language such as Bengali language anymore. Before hard reset i can see unicode language on my n8 default web browser. Now what can i do ?
WIth the update to OS 6.0 (6.0.0.6.00) frmo Sprint, I now have the ability to go beyond the standard 160 characters for a text mesage. It appears that I have up to seven text messages worth of 160 chracters that can be composed and sent. This feature was working fine until last week. Here is what is happening. If I compose a text that is 180 chracters long, only the second part (the last 20 characters) comes thru. The message will say "2/2" and then display the final 20 characters. The first 160 characters never arrive. I have tested sending a message like this to a Sprint user, ATT user and T-mobile user. They all arrived in the same manner, only the last 20 characters.I have spoken to Sprint to no avail.
It appears I cannot send messages over 160 characters. Does anyone have the same problem? I am hearing things about bugs in the Andriod 2.1 update. I have tried differeent SMS products on the market such as Go SMS but I am getting the same issues.
is there any possible way to set or add an app so that my bb tour can send sms messages over 160 characters? i have heard it should let you as long as you send to people that have the same verizon carrier as you but it will not work for me?
Me and this other person usually text each other 24/7 and we usually go over 160 characters all the time .. up to yesterday we couldnt do this and we dont know what the problem is?? I can recieve messages that are under 160 characters but i want it back to normal .. also i can recieve message over 160 characters from other people
After updating my Sprint iPhone 4S to 5.1, every text message I send that is >= 80 characters gets split into two texts, often with just the last word in the second text. The outgoing text sound plays twice when this happens. I have comfirmed this with multiple people including myself and it is extemely annoying.
I recently made the switch from an iPhone 6 to a SG6 Edge. I am loving the phone except for one key thing. I am unable to receive text messages that are over 160 characters. I know that once an SMS is over 160 characters, it turns into an MMS. But the thing is, my MMS settings are set up, everything should be working okay.
I don’t know if this matters but this phone is unlocked with Sprint, and I am currently using Rogers as my service provider. If I cant find any resolution to this I think I am going to have to switch phones either back to an iphone (which I don’t want to) or another Android phone.
Here is the list of things I have done to try to fix this problem:
-Factory reset my phone, didn’t work -Configured my MMS and APN settings manually. -Sent myself a picture message, received it fine. -Sent myself a message over 160 characters, received it fine. -Used the stock messaging app, as well as 3 different ones. (currently using textra due to the simplicity of it) -When I had my iphone, I disabled the iMessage, also went on the apple website to make sure my phone isn’t linked to imessage. Its completely off -Rogers said it’s a problem on the other end (contacts aren’t sending messages properly) -this is false because I wont get any messages from android users, blackberry users, and iphone users. Its not just one or two contacts, its my whole contact list. -few of my buddies have the S6 edge and none of them have this problem. (few switched from iphone)
The only solution I can possibly think of is getting a different sim card, but service provider said this will do absolutely nothing.
I run a business and I need to be able to receive SMS messages over 160 characters (no I will not use a 3rd party app which Samsung suggested. I need my texts to work.)
A client of ours uses a specialist software which sends emails to them when anything goes wrong. Recently the emails have been displaying oddly. There support company has asked the following;
"You need to make sure you are viewing the emails in HTML mode in order for them to display correctly. If they still do not display correctly with html mode on this is either going to be an issue with the blackberry model you are using or the encoding used to read the emails on your device. Our helpdesk emails require Unicode UTF 7 or 8 encoding to be displayed correctly."
How can we check what Unicode encoding the BB is using?
Please see the last row of the keyboard. At your right end there is a control key which can mute the sound next to that " & " and " ' " are in the same key. but when i press that key dot " ." is coming next " ," (comma) is coming after that its written " ? " and " ( " but when i press " ` " is coming. Is there any problem in the mobile?
When I send mail through MfE, Swedish and other special characters do not reach the recipient, they are just ignored. No blanks or nothing. Every word with a Swedish character ends up one letter short. Before the firmware upgrade this was intermittent, happening only on about half of my mails. Now I upgraded yesterday, and it seems the problem is now permanent.Have seen similar posts from E75 and E90 owners, their problems seem to have been fixed by newer firmware. Our setup is: Exchange 2003, Portwise authentication. All other phone models work fine, like iPhone, E71 etc.
I cannot type in the circumflex and tilde characters (as well as some others). When using the hardware keyboard, I use the Sym key to get the onscreen selection of symbols/chars and from there, all the characters work except for all those on the row that contains the circumflex and tilde. I also tried enabling the onscreen keyboard and selecting them from there, but they don't work in that either. When touching the tilde button, it turns orange, but does not transfer the character into the text area like it does with the less than character for example.Does anyone know how to get that working please?
I'm french and bought my N8 at home, but I now work and live in China.I need to have Chinese characters displayed in SMS, mails and some apps.I found how to have them before Anna updates, but since I lost them and the previous trick (/t5/Nseries-and-S60-Smartphones/Nokia-N8-RM-596-Symbian-3-Keyboard-and-Font-Language-Support/m-p/773...) doesn't work anymore.I'm desperately looking for a solution for 2 days, finding nothing.
I am a Chinese nokia user with an European version of N8 because I am in France now. Recently I've updated my n8 to symbian anna and unfortunately I cannot see Chinese text messages from my friends. All the Chinese characters become small squares. In the language settings of the phone, I can only see English, French, Spanish.....All of them are European languages. I heard that only Asian versions of Nokia can support Chinese, I don't know why Nokia carries out this god damned **bleep**ing policy but can anyone show some tips to me in how to make Chinese charaters appear again on my N8?
My Nokia 3600 converts SMS into MMS automatically if the numbers of characters exceeds 918 (6 SMS).If I delete some characters sometimes it offers the possibilty to reconvert to SMS in the 'Options' menu (other times not); sometimes it does it automatically (not consistent).
But sometimes even if I have a lot less characters and then I use certain accented characters (French) it does the same and it can't be reconverted to SMS. Other accented characters don't have the same effect.(I spell them out because I don't know how they would be displayed: - characters always OK: 'a' grave, 'e' acute and grave, 'u' grave - characters not accepted: 'c' cedilla, 'o' circumflex)
My 2600 and 2610 never did this: I could write much longer messages up to the total limit (split into more SMS) without any problem. Is there a fix for this bug?
I have a nokia 6303 classic for more than a year and I am very happy with it. But because I moved to China I need support of Chinese characters for short messages. Is it possible to get it on the phone somehow?
I have an E72-2, when i bought it, the phone was without a memory card so i purchased a blank one. Lately i am having repeatedly a message on the screen saying "remove memory card and press ok". I called nokia care and they told me to format the memory card which i did but still having the same problem. I tried backing up, formatting and then restoring many times : still the same. so i emptied every thing from the card : removed installed apps and music files and pictures and used the phone for a couple of days , everything was ok. Now i put back the music files on the card (through usb connection) and re-assigned ringing tones, the problem appears again and the phone is not reading the card (it's there but it's like blank) like it's rejecting it.
My question is : is the problem in the memory card (corrupted, defected) or in the phone? if it's the card I don't want it to damage the phone, should i buy a new one to resolve the problem? At nokia care they told me that just formatting the card will make it as new, is that correct?
I've recently got my E72 and added a bunch of songs on the memory card under Digital Sounds and refreshed the music library, they were all found but some of them have a little key icon next to them and won't play and say that its because of Unknown Content Provider, any idea how i can solve this?
