Nokia Nseries :: Asian Characters On An European N8?
Aug 27, 2011
I'm french and bought my N8 at home, but I now work and live in China.I need to have Chinese characters displayed in SMS, mails and some apps.I found how to have them before Anna updates, but since I lost them and the previous trick (/t5/Nseries-and-S60-Smartphones/Nokia-N8-RM-596-Symbian-3-Keyboard-and-Font-Language-Support/m-p/773...) doesn't work anymore.I'm desperately looking for a solution for 2 days, finding nothing.
I am a Chinese nokia user with an European version of N8 because I am in France now. Recently I've updated my n8 to symbian anna and unfortunately I cannot see Chinese text messages from my friends. All the Chinese characters become small squares. In the language settings of the phone, I can only see English, French, Spanish.....All of them are European languages. I heard that only Asian versions of Nokia can support Chinese, I don't know why Nokia carries out this god damned **bleep**ing policy but can anyone show some tips to me in how to make Chinese charaters appear again on my N8?
anyone know when will the asian product codes get the FW update?hopefully the bugs are ironed out specially the space bar and the BT connectivity problems, keeps bugging me out!
I have an iPhone 4S with AT&T. I am going to France to visit relatives. I do not have an international plan with AT&T. I have been told that I will get roaming charges but that I will be able to use my iPhone in France. I do I use my iPhone in France? When I get off the plane and take it off airplane mode is there something I have to set in Settings? I have not found anything? Does it automatically recognize the European protocol? I see International Assist but I'm not sure that enables.
I cannot get this phone to work with a SIM from companies in Poland. I tried Orange,Play and T mobile.Voice worked with Orange but no data. I am more interested in data. The sim lock is unlocked and I set up the APN per instructions provided with the SIMs?
I would like to know where I can download an East Asian language pack for the BlackBerry Pearl 9105? I can't seem to find it online anywhere, I've also tried searching for the companies email address to contact technical support or customer services. They don't seem to have an email address to contact so I'm wondering if there was a way to install language pack on it, if there is, how do I install it?I'm using Desktop Device Software 5.The reason that I'm asking is because, sometimes my friends' sends me text messages on my phone and I can't see them as it is all in squares.
E52 only supports english fonts, I am looking for Asian fonts like 1. Gujarati 2. Hindi
As it's difficult to view sms in native language. Only read in native language, don't need to write. If we receive SMS in other language, there is problem. Font must be in phone otherwise display square / blank boxes.
basically im wanting to write in Korean on my blackberry torch 9810 i know your meant to download the eastern language pack etcc but it actually says "installed" on the blackberry ddesktop.but on my blackberry when i go to switch languages none of the eeastern languages are there.the odd thing is i can still rread korean messages send to me through bbm and facebook, i just cant reply in that language because it isnt an option.so it says its istalled.. but i cant actually get the option on my blackberry.
Just wondering, I would like to be able to read Chinese/Japanese/Korean characaters, although I don't wish to be able to input them, just to read.Is it possible to do this with 9800? IF so, how?
I would like to install the East Asian language software on my Blackberry Bold handheld. Unfortunately my wireless service provider (Vodafone NL) only supports the multi language software and not the all language or East Asian language software.
So therefore my question, how could I download the Asian language support although my wireless service provides doesn't provides any?
In the old days, and in this age its only one year ago, it was possible to download all the necessary software on the Blackberry website, so on my 4.0 OS I could easily add the East Asian language software. Recently I ubdated my handheld with the 6.O OS and now I am confronted with this problem. Hence I now its possible to get the East Asian language support, and after enjoying its advantages for more than a year I can't do anything without.
Please see the last row of the keyboard. At your right end there is a control key which can mute the sound next to that " & " and " ' " are in the same key. but when i press that key dot " ." is coming next " ," (comma) is coming after that its written " ? " and " ( " but when i press " ` " is coming. Is there any problem in the mobile?
When I send mail through MfE, Swedish and other special characters do not reach the recipient, they are just ignored. No blanks or nothing. Every word with a Swedish character ends up one letter short. Before the firmware upgrade this was intermittent, happening only on about half of my mails. Now I upgraded yesterday, and it seems the problem is now permanent.Have seen similar posts from E75 and E90 owners, their problems seem to have been fixed by newer firmware. Our setup is: Exchange 2003, Portwise authentication. All other phone models work fine, like iPhone, E71 etc.
I cannot type in the circumflex and tilde characters (as well as some others). When using the hardware keyboard, I use the Sym key to get the onscreen selection of symbols/chars and from there, all the characters work except for all those on the row that contains the circumflex and tilde. I also tried enabling the onscreen keyboard and selecting them from there, but they don't work in that either. When touching the tilde button, it turns orange, but does not transfer the character into the text area like it does with the less than character for example.Does anyone know how to get that working please?
I'm just wondering if someone can help me. My device software version is 5.0.0.330 and i'm trying to update the software for east asian language(korean for me), bu it can only display , not input.I downloaded version 5.0.0442.i followed all the instructions and even downloaded other versions of software like 5.0.0.593. so frustrated! is the device software version important?
I can receive emails that contain other languages, like chinese and korean. However, well I reply emails in those languages, people only receive symbols. I try to send it to my own email address as well, I also only receive symbols, like question marks. I'm using rogers but I don't think it has anything to do with the carriers because it was okay before.
Got my nokia 5800, really happy. Installed Chinese as my second language on the mobile dictionary..... and the phone won't display the unicode characters. How can i get Chinese language support on my nokia?
I download the latest version of the program (Nokia PC Suite 7.1.180.46).In the messages part of the program, Messages does not supported the Unicode characters.
My Nokia 3600 converts SMS into MMS automatically if the numbers of characters exceeds 918 (6 SMS).If I delete some characters sometimes it offers the possibilty to reconvert to SMS in the 'Options' menu (other times not); sometimes it does it automatically (not consistent).
But sometimes even if I have a lot less characters and then I use certain accented characters (French) it does the same and it can't be reconverted to SMS. Other accented characters don't have the same effect.(I spell them out because I don't know how they would be displayed: - characters always OK: 'a' grave, 'e' acute and grave, 'u' grave - characters not accepted: 'c' cedilla, 'o' circumflex)
My 2600 and 2610 never did this: I could write much longer messages up to the total limit (split into more SMS) without any problem. Is there a fix for this bug?
I have a nokia 6303 classic for more than a year and I am very happy with it. But because I moved to China I need support of Chinese characters for short messages. Is it possible to get it on the phone somehow?
We use many accents in words, what happens to me when writing messages is that I have to write 160 letters (1 message), but if I put an accent on a word he is soon to 70 letters available to write ...
I've just started getting what looks like Chinese characters and the string 500 in Stocks on my iPhone 4 with iOS 5. No similar thing happening with DOW J and NASDAQ. I deleted and added it back using a search on ^GSPC with the same result.
