BB Torch 9800 :: How To Enable East Asian Language?
Aug 13, 2010
Just wondering, I would like to be able to read Chinese/Japanese/Korean characaters, although I don't wish to be able to input them, just to read.Is it possible to do this with 9800? IF so, how?
basically im wanting to write in Korean on my blackberry torch 9810 i know your meant to download the eastern language pack etcc but it actually says "installed" on the blackberry ddesktop.but on my blackberry when i go to switch languages none of the eeastern languages are there.the odd thing is i can still rread korean messages send to me through bbm and facebook, i just cant reply in that language because it isnt an option.so it says its istalled.. but i cant actually get the option on my blackberry.
I would like to know where I can download an East Asian language pack for the BlackBerry Pearl 9105? I can't seem to find it online anywhere, I've also tried searching for the companies email address to contact technical support or customer services. They don't seem to have an email address to contact so I'm wondering if there was a way to install language pack on it, if there is, how do I install it?I'm using Desktop Device Software 5.The reason that I'm asking is because, sometimes my friends' sends me text messages on my phone and I can't see them as it is all in squares.
I would like to install the East Asian language software on my Blackberry Bold handheld. Unfortunately my wireless service provider (Vodafone NL) only supports the multi language software and not the all language or East Asian language software.
So therefore my question, how could I download the Asian language support although my wireless service provides doesn't provides any?
In the old days, and in this age its only one year ago, it was possible to download all the necessary software on the Blackberry website, so on my 4.0 OS I could easily add the East Asian language software. Recently I ubdated my handheld with the 6.O OS and now I am confronted with this problem. Hence I now its possible to get the East Asian language support, and after enjoying its advantages for more than a year I can't do anything without.
I'm just wondering if someone can help me. My device software version is 5.0.0.330 and i'm trying to update the software for east asian language(korean for me), bu it can only display , not input.I downloaded version 5.0.0442.i followed all the instructions and even downloaded other versions of software like 5.0.0.593. so frustrated! is the device software version important?
I'm going through the options on my torch and cant seem to find one to enable a clicking sound when typing on the touchscreen (such as the droids and iphones make the clicky noise when your type) ...does it exist?
I can receive emails that contain other languages, like chinese and korean. However, well I reply emails in those languages, people only receive symbols. I try to send it to my own email address as well, I also only receive symbols, like question marks. I'm using rogers but I don't think it has anything to do with the carriers because it was okay before.
I downloaded China Ovi map, but all the points of interests, such as hotels, are shown with squares, rather than chinese characters. Is there a way to enable chinese language support?
As an avid business crackberry fan (and business manager) for over 3 years, I was appalled to find that I would need to slide the keyboard out to enter my security code, especially when I would do it 50-100 times per day. As every other touchscreen phone on the market has a pattern unlock method, this is the single issue preventing from purchasing this phone(s) PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE/APP/PATCH anything to bring this vital security & efficiency issue up to par.
I have already installed the new Desktop Manager 6.0 that I downloaded from the RIM site.
I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.
Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.
i had a blackberry torch 9800 which i backed up to the blackberry desktop then it was sent away for a repair and they replaced it with anew 9800 i have tried to recover everything from the desktop but it says i need the old blackberry first?

I'm french and bought my N8 at home, but I now work and live in China.I need to have Chinese characters displayed in SMS, mails and some apps.I found how to have them before Anna updates, but since I lost them and the previous trick (/t5/Nseries-and-S60-Smartphones/Nokia-N8-RM-596-Symbian-3-Keyboard-and-Font-Language-Support/m-p/773...) doesn't work anymore.I'm desperately looking for a solution for 2 days, finding nothing.
E52 only supports english fonts, I am looking for Asian fonts like 1. Gujarati 2. Hindi
As it's difficult to view sms in native language. Only read in native language, don't need to write. If we receive SMS in other language, there is problem. Font must be in phone otherwise display square / blank boxes.
I was using BB 9700 previously, running OS 5. When I plugged to the PC, languages and OS will appear under the "applications" in my Desktop Manager. However, it is not so for my new BB 9810 running OS 7. I am unable to amend my input language at my Desktop Manager.
what should I do to get french in my phone?I read french and that's why I need to have french in my phone.how toget french language as my main language of my BB?
i want to add several input languages to my bb e.g. Korean / Japanese / Chinese, but i can't.i've tried via Desktop Manager v7, yet it didn't work.i googled and they said that on the Application section, there'll be Input languages bar, but it didn't appear on my Desktop Manager.
is there a way to lock the language on the tourch or to delete all the ones i don't need? sometimes the language is changed from touching the touch screen in my pocket or purse and i need to switch it back to english i cannot find a lock on language anywhere but really don't need any other ones on my phone so i could delete them if need be if there a function for this?
My BlackBerry truly has a mind of its own. The screen will start switching to other menus and applications on it's own, without any touch. When in a screen, it will start scrolling on its own, up and down. When typing, it will randomly change languages or in mid-text it will automatically position itself at the beginning of the text.
According to this knowledge Base technote, you can enable Device Analyzer by pressing ALT and typing BBDA in the Options screen.

On My Verizon Torch 9850 running 7.1.0.163, can't find it, but without an ALT key, not sure how to activate it.I do see it in Application Management though, just can't find a way to enable it.
I installed Yahoo messenger on new BB and it worked ok. Then I synch old BB to save contacts etc. and now Y IM gives following when I try to log in " "Service not enabled for this handheld" . I've deleted it and reinstalled it. No change.
