Jan 9, 2011I am planning on buying x10 mini pro.i am clueless if this is the case for x10 mini.cause on my W995 the Japanese characters are displayed. If it is supported, i wonder is there anyone with the Euro. vers. of x10 mini able to write and send sms in Japanese or Korean??

Jan 23, 2012recently I received a Nokia 500 for my business trip to Japan next week.However, the internal dictionary can translate English or German to Japanese, but it doesn't show any characters besides boxes. Deletion and re-installation of Japanese language did not solve.Currently I installed the cure-all YBrowser, and now I can see the Z:esourceFonts folder with its content.Now, which font is needed to get Japanese text display, and where can I get it?

Nov 4, 2010While browsing blogs, I found that nokia browser doesn't support unicode. I tried with Opera 10 too. Any way to see unicode fonts on Nokia N8. I tried changing the internet settings on my mobile by selecting Unicode (UTF8/UCS2) as default setting and restarted the device. Tried to download some third party tools but the mobile doesn't support those.

Nokia Nseries :: 5800XM Can't Run The Apps
Dec 22, 2011I just bought a new memory card for my 5800XM, and tried to use back up/restore from Nokia Suite to move the existing messages, apps etc to the new card. Somehow it didn't work as I expected. While the everything was restored to the new card, I can't run the apps (there's a key symbol on them, I suspect that means they are locked), and it says I have no messages.

Sep 17, 2011I've been experiencing poor battery life on my Nokia 5800 XM recently. Sometimes on a full charge I could only get a day to a day and a half of standby time with minimal usage (2-3 texts, no calls and 5 photographs). I put this down to an old battery and ordered a new one.In the meantime we went to my parents-in-law and the battery lasted 5 days on a full charge including a reasonable amount of web browsing via WLAN.Got back home and the battery died a couple of days later despite being fully charged.
Put in a brand new battery, charged it up and used the phone - 2.5 days later it was dead (minimal texts and a couple of photos). Charged it again - 2 days standby before dead.Downloaded the power profile app - everything seemed to be fine. The phone idled nicely on standby with minimal power drain.Then I used the bluetooth and everything became clear. After connecting to OVI for a minute or two, downloading my photos then closing OVI and disabling the bluetooth on the phone, I noticed my power consumption didn't go back down. I was getting regular peaks of around 150ma and the battery life was considerably reduced.
If I left the bluetooth disabled and power cycled the phone, it would settle down to minimal usage. The moment bluetooth was enabled, the problem reocurred.I then backed the phone up, totally wiped the sd card and reinstalled from scratch.Exactly the same problem - fine until BT enabled then even when disabled, the phone started drawing excess current on idle.

I tried to install some versions (beta) that i found and the problem is more or less solved but that versions had bugs etc, are not stable.. how can i get the stable version (no beta version) of the firmware or whatever?

A new batt (actually, two - the normal battery and the clock's batt), a screen (cheap nowadays) and a lot of WD40 on the board, to flush out the oxidation. Nokia Nseries :: 5800XM Contacts Bar Not Showing All Comms Events?
Mar 22, 2010I have 4 contacts on my contacts bar. When I click one of the pix, I get a list of all the events relating to that contact - great, that's as it should be. But when I click on one of the other three, there are no events shown - the message is "(no communication events)". But I know there should be some, because I remember calling them yesterday and if I check the call log I can see the call there. If I then do something with one of the three (send a text or call them), then as if by magic the missing lists of events appear. It's always the same one that's complete initially, and always the same three that seem to need a reminder to behave themselves.if there's anything I can do to get all comms events showing all the time?

Recently I've updated my n8 to symbian anna and unfortunately I cannot see Chinese text messages from my friends. All the Chinese characters become small squares. In the language settings of the phone, I can only see English, French, Spanish.....All of them are European languages. I heard that only Asian versions of Nokia can support Chinese, I don't know why Nokia carries out this god damned **bleep**ing policy but can anyone show some tips to me in how to make Chinese charaters appear again on my N8?

Dec 8, 2011I recently hard reset my phone & installed the latest Nokia software (60.xxxx).(I could never understand why the memory was so low before as all my apps were installed to the memory card)Anyway, since then the only things I've installed to the phone memory are Mobbler, Nokia photo sharing & the upgrade to Nokia Store.This dropped memory to around 56MB.However it seems to drop further gradually for no reason I can see - and is now down to 50.8MB !

Jun 10, 2011Now this is one wierd problem i am facing since the past 2 days. I m not getting notification for any SMS i recieve on my phone. Usually the phone shows missed calls and text message notification at the bottom of the screen and also icons represting missed calls and message (envelope like icon) on the right hand corner of the screen. however since the past two days i m not receiving the sms notification. I receive it only for missed calls. Also wenever i receive a message, there is no sms tone. so everytime i need to check messages i have to get into the message folder.
To sum it up, when i recieve a missed call, my sreen says one missed call, similar it should 1 message (wen i get a message). However it only shows one missed call and DOES NOT SHOW one message, even if i have actually received a message.

Apr 15, 2012I am noticing this issue from the past couple of weeks and probably after the last update. When I open the calendar Icon, the dates do not load on the phone. It just doesnt show any dates?
Also if a reminder is past, it shows a past reminder and the reminder also doesnt open up.
Whenever I do the hard re-boot i.e keep the power button pressed till it vibrates three times and shuts and re-starts, then initially the calendar shows the dates, but again after sometime if I have to open the calendar, it doesnt show the dates at all, and goes back to the same issue.

Aug 29, 2012I am having this annoying problem after the belle refresh update. Earlier the music player used to show track progress bar perfectly. Now after the update it does not show progress bar most of the time while playing a song.
On further observation, I noticed that the progress bar shows up correctly everytime for the songs which does not have a album art embedded in it. But if I play a song with a album art, most of the time the progress bar does not appear at all. Try playing few different songs with album art attached.
Also earlier tapping on the album art/icon used to display the volume up-down slider. Now that feature is gone. Since I use a hard cover, it's difficult for me to use the hardware volume buttons every time. Why did you remove a useful feature nokia?

Feb 9, 2012After updating to Bella N8 has synchronized with Outlook via Nokia Suite. The Calendar shows all the dates. I have two calendars. The first calendar comes with Mail For Exchange, the second from Outlook (synchronization with the Nokia Suite). Calendar Widget only shows events from the Exchange account, and newly added to the second calendar. It does not matter whether the added element: task, meeting. I can only see those that will add to the phone. Synchronized with Outlook do not appear.
