I've had my Nokia N95 8GB since 2008 (It's OLD I get it haha) and I've had no problems with it until recently, where it would randomly turn off and then back on, such as when I'm in the middle of writing a text. The most ridiculous incident was when it turned off and on while just lying on the table! There are no software updates available for this old phone
View 1 RepliesI'm having an odd problem with my Lumia 800, The phone randomly shuts down, it doesn't seem to be related to the power levels as it does it when fully charged. It can go 2 days or 5 minutes before doing this. The odd thing is that to turn it back on I have to plug it into my PC, it comes back on immediately... it does not seem to come on if I plug it into the mains. This is a recent issue it worked for a couple of months without any issues.

Sometimes goes a couple of days without problem, sometimes it restarts couple of times a day. This mornig, for example, I was using Maps and Public Transport apps to find my way to work. When I got to office, I put the phone avay for a few minutes and during that time it had restared itself, while being in my pocket and screen lock on. All I managed to see was the white dot animation, which is shown at early stages of the startup, followed by home screen icons loading one by one.Device had and still has no third party apps or background services running. In fact, only apps I had used recently were offical release versions made by Nokia and downloaded from Nokia Store.Nokia should really get their act together and improve software quality of the both firmware and utilites running on top of it.

View 19 Replies View RelatedIf you encounter the thing that the Nokia N8 won't charge and worst, if the battery was drained and the N8 shutted down and won't charge or power on, try the following steps.
1. Connect the charger supplied with the N8 to other compatible Nokia phones, like E72 like I did.
2. Wait for the other device (E72) to start charging.
3. After it starts charging, remove the charger from it (E72).
4. Now, try to charge the N8 using the supplied charger that you used with the other device previously (E72).
5. Wait for the N8 to charge or start.
6. DONE!
I have been trying to find the reason why it keeps happening and I still can't find out why but i think the battery is not the main problem to it, I think it's the phone.

I left the phone as usual on my computer table and when I woke up in the morning, the battery was dead and when I plugged in the charger, it started charging. I then took out the battery and lightly pushed the copper pins at the bottom (where part of the battery goes into) and then the phone turned on. I put on (or rather, taped back on ), the back cover and the phone turned off. I didn't turn off straight away but in a weird way. You know how, when you update the firmware, then it starts loading (loading bar) horizontally and then the phone screen turns white and some funky colored vertical lines appear? Well, that's what happened and how it turned off.

Okay so I have just got a used BlackBerry Bold from a "pawn shop" and ever since I have got it, when my battery level was 15-30% juice left, it dies whenever im on the phone or when I am on bbm and it wont turn on until I plug in the charger, now once I plug it in, the red light goes solid and the phone resets itself, I then turn it right back on, I go on the main menu, then options, than status, and the battery went right down to 5% power
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought a used 8310 from a bidding website, and the problem ive got is the phone is usable as long as not much is being done on it, but when you start using apps like fb, msn, bbm and others(not at once) somehow the phone shuts down itself without any warning, and it cant be turned on unless its plugged to electricity or battery is removed and replaced, only to be shut down in short time after its turned on, for it to be somehow usable for some time more it must be charged for a few. I checked the status option and its got plenty free space(24mb) ive spent countless hours researching for the same problem online, and many say its the OS, but ive downgraded it, then ugraded it, rebooted it, master rebooted it, done everything to it but technically nothing works(after OS upgrade it worked perfectly with apps for around 3 hours). Oh and i forgot to say battery compsuption seems quite high, after its done charging its at 100%, then use msn and fb for around and hour and goes down to 80% couple of shut downs and turn ons after its at 5%. So, anyone has an idea what the problem might be? I dont want to buy a new battery to later find out its the phone that its deffective, and if its deffective anyone had any luck repairing it? the phone works perfectly while plugged in to an outlet or pc, it does not shut itself off at all.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy Neo V keeps turning up the volume randomly to max and whenever the volume bar near the top shows up I turn it down, but it just goes back up. And it sits there and doesn't let me lock the phone, or occasionally, the phone won't sleep. Then it makes the noise when you press on the volume control repeatedly. It also does that when I have headphones in, just turns the sound all the way up. Is it something wrong with the internal configurations of the phone or the button?

I uninstalled the app to see if that was the cause, but it is the still doing it. It will sometimes come back on its own. And it will come back after a restart. Until about 2 months ago the phone started intermittedly turning off, I would press the power button to switch back on which wouldnt work for about 5 minutes. The phone would work again for 10 minutes and then the same thing would occur
Battery was fully charged, software was all up to date. After advice from customer support I performed a factory reset and the same problems occured
Since then I have put the phone in for repair and it came back after a couple of days with the fix notes of "software reset"
The phone worked again for a couple of weeks but recently has started to do the exact same thing. I've just put it in for repair again after going over all of the same questions and scenario's as I did the first time around
So bluetooth has been turning it's self off randomly. When I try to connect my ps4 controller via bluetooth I connect and move around for 5 seconds then bluetooth turns off. It's not the controller because I can turn it on and sit at the bluetooth screen and wait abit, then it turns off for 1/2 seconds, says "turning on bluetooth" then repeats the cycle. I just updated to lollipop hoping it would fix it but no luck. I even did a factory reset. The BLE app didn't fix it either.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI got my Nexus 5 on the 2nd of this month. I'm on Android 4.4.4. Just today, I was out and about and I realized that, although I was going into settings and turning Wi-Fi off, it just kept turning it right back on! (I had been using the Wi-Fi at the mall, then later I went to a friend's house and connected to my friend's Wi-Fi, which did not work.) So, I turned on my data, only for it to turn off after I guess about 30 seconds. I turned it back on, went on WhatsApp, in the middle of replying to a text from my friend it goes off yet again! What the... So, I went into settings and turned data on, and Wi-Fi off. As I watched, the Wi-Fi switched itself back on, and, predictably, even though there were no wireless networks to connect to, my data turned off as well.
This is really inconvenient. What could be causing the problem? I don't think I've downloaded any apps recently, but they do sometimes update. It was working fine on Thursday, but I've had my data off since then. I also booted into Safe Mode, and the problem doesn't seem to persist.
I had a contract with Vodafone over 2 years ago and decided on the BlackBerry Storm 9500 handset . After 6 Months of receiving the phone it developed a fault, i have returned it for repairs on a number of occasions and the reoccurring problem has never been solved & fixed . After eighteen months the phone will still not turn on and when it does work it turns off within one hour of it working, i have been to the Vodafone shop in Torquay South Devon and they supplied me with a new battery to try but it still switches itself off . I ave talked to Vodafone and i was told a fault has been found on this particular model of handset. After 24 months of having this contract phone i have now upgraded to a BlackBerry Torch . I would like to return the 9500 handset to get a free full repair or a replacement as i now need to use both phones. This phone has also had problems with freezing and locking up

"Plane mode" is unfortunately not an option as it doesn't allow listening to the radio... (whereas it allows you to connect yourself to a Wi-fi network or to receive GPS signals, for instance) Would be great if there was a widget "Enable/Disable GSM networks" or something like that, as there is for other functions... but I couldn't find such a thing.
Since the day I have purchased my E72(brand new about 6 weeks ago) it has been vibrating at random times. At first I thought it was notifying me of something but I am convinced now that it is some sort of bug. Has anyone else experience this?

given it full charge no change cannot access any function.
removed battery and sin, no joy.
left sim out, no joy.
went to vodafone shop, they said i had to install software from nokia, did that, no joy.
can only stop it from switching on and off by removing battery, can't turn it off with on/off button.
dug out old 6230i and put sim in that, left n95 8gb switched off and on charge for a week got a couple off buttons to beep when 1st switched on, looks like date and time need resetting.
Can't think of anything else, have all my numbers for mates, football and work, diary dates and info and loads of pictures and video clips can't afford to loose any really.
vodafone said that they could send it off to repair shop but i would loose everything and i would have to pay for the privilege.
