Nokia Nseries :: N8 Froze While Charging - How To Restart
Dec 10, 2010I have another annoying adventure with N8. It was turned off, charging via USB, then the morning alarm worked, i pressed "snooze", device froze with the message "Alarm snoozed for 5 minutes" on the screen.
It does not react on pressing the turn on/off button.
On any other phone I would just take off the battery. On a PDA I would use the little pinhole button to restart. Neither is possible with this "gorgeous" n8. It never freezes, aha.
So now it's morning, i need to go to work, and instead i'm trying to start the freaking phone. You're losing fans, Nokia. This is the most problematic smartphone i had.

Aug 1, 2012Was checking my settings when I realized I need two updates choose the first one now when it was backing up my stuff it froze at 11% and wont move. tried taking battery out but just goes back to same screen?

Sep 5, 2011My N8 does not respond anymore!!! I have updated its software, not withoug difficulty, with symbian anna 1/2, and 2/2 one week ago. On friday, Ovi informed me that there is a new update for the software, I accepted the update. While updating the phone jammed and then the computer jammed, I was obliged to reboot the phone and the computer as well. Since then the phone would not turn on!!! I tried the software updated, but still the computer does recognize my N8. I guess it has to be on to be recognized. If I push the power button for 10 sec, it does not turn on, it only vibrates, and the USB lead starts to flash!!! I do not know what to do to have my phone go back to normal.

Feb 7, 2012I have updated my Nokia N8 to Nokia Belle with Nokia Updater for Mac but I cannot find contacts, sms and notes. All disappeared and unfortunately I don't have a backup. It is urgent and important. At the end of the update it was asking me if I wanted to import contacts from another Nokia phone, but as it wasn't the case, I bypassed that option. Surely I did something wrong but I really do hope that contacts, notes and sms are saved somewhere on my Mac.
