Nokia Nseries :: N8 Shut Down While Updating

My N8 does not respond anymore!!! I have updated its software, not withoug difficulty, with symbian anna 1/2, and 2/2 one week ago. On friday, Ovi informed me that there is a new update for the software, I accepted the update. While updating the phone jammed and then the computer jammed, I was obliged to reboot the phone and the computer as well. Since then the phone would not turn on!!! I tried the software updated, but still the computer does recognize my N8. I guess it has to be on to be recognized. If I push the power button for 10 sec, it does not turn on, it only vibrates, and the USB lead starts to flash!!! I do not know what to do to have my phone go back to normal.

I have some problems with the display on my 700. Some times when i pick up my phone from my the screen is lit up and will not shut down again.

My N8's shutter is stuck shut. I turn the camera function on and everything loads up BUT, the shutter doesn't open at all. So every picture is complete darkness. I can focus (on pitch black), change all the settings but to no avail. The only thing I see on the screen is total pitch black. The black shutter makes a funny noise and seems to fail over and not open.

I was updating my Iphone 4G and just when it was nearly complete my computer shut down, i tried restoring my iphone but it switched its self off and i am unable to turn it back on!? all that comes up is a black screenwith a white dot in the middle.

My Nokia N8 is restarting from time to time(once at 3-4 days) or one time just freeze when browsing the screens(hard stop needed). This is happening only after update to Symbian Belle. With Anna I do not have this kind of problems.

I bought the X6 a couple of days ago and I want to update the Flash Player on the phone as I cannot view flash content. I've tried to update by going to adobe's website and even downloading Opera Mini. However it still doesn't allow me to download. This is fairly dissappointing since I bought this phone for the Flash Player support.

I have updated my Nokia N8 to Nokia Belle with Nokia Updater for Mac but I cannot find contacts, sms and notes. All disappeared and unfortunately I don't have a backup. It is urgent and important. At the end of the update it was asking me if I wanted to import contacts from another Nokia phone, but as it wasn't the case, I bypassed that option. Surely I did something wrong but I really do hope that contacts, notes and sms are saved somewhere on my Mac.

I connect my phone to computer and check for updates in Nokia Software Update. After some update It get hang . and i push the wire from mobile . the mobile gets switched off . and now its not turning on.

My n8 was working perfectly with pr1.2 . Then the problem started since i updated to symbian anna , It automatically restarts . I've tried everything i could , reinstall , hard reset , flash firmware , but the problem was still there.

So I updated my N8 to Anna recently, it had iplayer before the update but doesnt have it after, the ovi store does not list iplayer and accessing iplayer via the web says that the phone is not supported.How do I get iplayer on my N8 running Anna.

I have 'middle east' version of nokia n97 with Arabic language included."I could write in Arabic" after updating to V22 I couldn't do that any more? Is it possible to reinstall that language back without Hard resetting my phone ?

So far so good since the update but the only problem now that i noticed is the battery. Since the update, my phone now consumes more power and i have to charge it at least once every day. Before the update i was charging it every 3 days.

After six months of heavy use, application installations, removals, etc. my N8 could really use a clean wipe before updating to Symbian Anna. I have a handful of smaller bugs, empty folders and such left on my phone, and I'd like to just have a fresh start before installing the new firmware.Phone memory (c: drive) has just 65mb of free space left and I've noticed that users installing Symbian Anna report that the free space on phone memory drops quite a bit after updating the firmware.Yet another good reason the get this fixed.ut what is the best way to do this?Is it any good to do a full phone format (hard reset) before updating to Symbian Anna?

After updated my Nokia N8 to Symbian Belle my calendar doesn't work. It is possible to save posts, but after closing the calendar and reopening, all the information is lost and the calendar is totally empty.
I have run all updates but it still doesn't work. It's annoying because the calendar is one of my most important tools.

There was an option in N8 to store the files on a remote location via HTTP and it was really useful, but after updating to Belle this option disappeared!
Before, it was found through Settings and Connectivity > Remote drives. Is it missing in Belle or it moved to somewhere else?

So I just updated to Belle on my Nokia N8, and after it made a big thing of backing up my text messages, contacts, calendar entries and media, it seems to have lost most of this. After telling Nokia Suite to sync with my phone, it syncronised all of my media (music, photos) but my texts, contacts and calendar entries are nowhere to be found.

I recently updated my N8 to ANNA. After that I'm facing lot of issues such as the battery lasts only less than 12 Hrs, problems with e-mails, slow response etc. How can I roll back my phones software to Symbian v3. I dont want to take my phone to any Nokia Care centres.

I have a Nokia 5800 which I use as my Sat Nav and MP3 player. I have just updated the maps and voice guidance files but there are no voice guidance files on the phone. When I select 'Drive Guidance' or 'Walk Guidance', I have no voices to choose from it just dsya 'NONE'.

I TRIED updating my nokia 5230 by using OVI suite and during update my nokia 5230 suddenly turned off and updating stopped. I disconnected usb cable and tried to turn on the set but it wont turn on. I tried to recharge it and restart it but it also didnt work. Now its still off and I don`t know what to do anymore.

I have a model N900 and the problem is.Four days ago I was updating software for my N900 on Nokia.com site and, when the updating was finish my N900 goes to restarting again and again, until I remove a battery! I tried to turn on the phone but PROBLEM was same!RESTARTING constantly.Please does anybody know, how to fix this PROBLEM and is it maybe a factory error?

How do you shut off the speaker in the e72? I have read the user's guide for the phone but it doesn't help. I have gone through the usual suspects on the menu (e.g. control panel, settings) but nowhere can I find a way to shut the speaker off.

I went to sleep and when I wake up I find that my Nokia 5233 with a blank screen I thought it shutdown by itself. But when I try to switch it ON it doesnt respond. The batter was fully charged the previous night so I doubt if its a battery problem. Any suggestions / tips on what the problem could be and how I could resolve it.

A few months ago I went on a holiyday abroad. Before I went, I tryed to shut down my internet from my Nokia C6 (3G-connection). I went to the following map:Settings > Connectivity > (Don't know the word they choose in Engels, but it will be something like: Destionations or Objectives or Goals.) > Internet.There I made a new wrong port and removed all the working ports I had. So my internet should only be able to connect with that link.Still, a month later my bill was 70 euro's higher then normal, due my internetconnection on my holiday.
