My N8 keeps connecting to OVI Store via WAP when WLAN available. Not only is WLAN available, it is connected and #1 in the list - checked via Connection Manager.
The Browser etc. has no problem - uses WLAN as expected. I can't find anywhere to set the OVI Store access priorities - I assume it's supposed to use Connection Manager?
My N8 finds WLAN network and when I enter pre-shared key nothing happens?! it doesn't connect.

When I have enabled my WLAN and try to connect an internet based app or open my browser the WLAN isn't always the connection that the phone chooses to connect with. Is there anyway I can force this? Also, the WLAN connection randomly drops when I connect and back out to the home screen of the phone to open, say, my Facebook app on the shortcuts bar.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have some problemes connecting my N96 to internet using WLAN, i created an AD HOC network with no encryption and i shared my DSL connection, everything worked fine by after 1 day it stopped, i had "no gateway reply" error message, so i created another new AD HOC network by i have the same error, i tried to delete all WLAN connection in my N96 et to reset it nut nothing worked.

Last week or so it started to connect itself to my wi-fi at home, thus draining my battery. When I turn it off it only takes a few moments before it reconnects. I have read posts here about this problem but none of the advices have helped me. Every setting I have checked has been as I want them: always ask before connecting!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just updated to Nokia Belle and I am having a few issues with Nokia Store (as are a number of other people by the looks of it).
Although I have correctly set up my access points (the update wiped them) and have selected my wifi as the access point with the highest priority, Nokia Store is refusing to connect via WLAN and is giving the warning "mobile data off - no connections made" (this is with mobile data turned off and Wifi on), clearly there is something that is preventing the app using this access point and is sticking to Mobile data only. I have re-installed the program to no avail.
I can still access Nokia Store via my O2 wap access point (priority 2) however as some of the apps I will need to reinstall are quite large I want to do this via Wifi.My browser works correctly through Wifi as does Ovi music. I have tried setting the browser to ask which access point I want to use, however to no avail.Out of interest the other programs that I have noticed do not work like Nokia Store (Mobile data turned off and Wifi turned on) are Shazaam and Weather. Not sure if there is a link.
Models having the problem: Nokia E71, E72 Basically, Ovi Store keeps on Loading for sometime then gives me an error of "Unable to connect to Server". This only happens whenever i choose a WLAN connection. However it works fine on packet data connection.I was able to resolve this on my E71 with a workaround, by editing the access point information, and changing the data carrier of my WLAN to Packet data so my phone sees my WLAN as a packet data connection. I tried doing the same on my E72, but it didnt allow me to change the data carrier field.This problem prevents me from enjoying Ovi Store, because Packet data connectivity is more expensive than WLAN here in Saudi Arabia.it seems that many are experiencing the same problem and Many are suggesting to reset and format the phone or re-installing ovi store, but I will not be doing trial and error on my phone which can result in losing valuable data.it seems that Nokia has not provided a cure for this, and I am seriously looking into leaving Nokia for good, till they come up with more reliable and creative phones and services.It seems that Competition has blinded nokia about Quality which me and many others are missing lately.

I set it up to connect to my home network, but everytime I disconnect it on the phone using the widgit on screen, it refreshes a few minutes later and reconnects - I've turned scanning off and set connection to manual but it made no difference.

how to use WLan on my Nokia N97 Mini. I was able to detect the free Wi-fi connection in a mall. But after connecting i was unable to access any sites as it gave error: invalid server name. Ive tried at Mumbai Airport as well, but still the same error. I tried many different site but still the same error. Also sometime when i try some sites after connecting to WLAN, it prompts to connect via GPRS which should not be the case I believe. Both GPRS and WLAN are different. How do I access Internet via W-fi and not with the GPRS.

In this destination I set up wlan as priority 1 and mobile data as priority 2.Phone keeps moving wlan from Internet to Uncategorised destination. If I move it back to Internet it stays for some time and goes back to Uncategorised. Sometimes it happens while browsing. I want to go back one page and phone will show that it can't find the address. Have to go to settings and move it back to Internet destination. Ad nauseam. Did not have this problem on N8. My phone has static IP address on my home modem.

OK my n8s wifi has just stopped working. It will not stop searching when I search for wlan and it has no results. ive had the phone for a year now and always work and not its not working. all the info i had set up for the home network are gone as well its like the phone never had wifi..
and no nothing is wrong with my network... all other phones find and connect while mine does not even find

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've looked around on the net but have not been able to find a solution to this problem.Using an N8 (on Nokia Belle), the WLAN settings does not seem to provide any place to specify the username and password for a proxy based network (Note:this is not the pre-shared key for the WLAN, but the username and password asked by the proxy server). When the browser is used, it prompts for the username and password and then works. However other applications cannot connect to this network as they seemingly lack this feature and the phone does not make this globally available.Nokia Configuration Tool (NCT) 6.3 seems to allow placement of username and password values. When configuration is transferred back to phone, NCT shows successfully configured, but this does not seem to be the case when the settings are used by the phone.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have noticed something strange since updating to Anna and the new version of OVI Store application (2.12.042). When I launch the application with 3g connection (over Orange) the application connects to the store without any issues at all. It now has an "Orange Selects" button, which I assume means the application has recognised my sim card as the phone is an operator free version.
The problem is that when I launch the application at home, it attempts to connect via Wi-Fi and is unable to connect to the OVI service. All other internet over wi-fi works fine.
I updated to the new ovi store version but after i updated it it doesnt work it says ovi store cannot connect
View 2 Replies View Relatedwhenever i see i have a network connection, i have no apps running and the phone is set to only connect when needed. under the connection manager it says its connected to the nokia server and something about xmpp. the nokia chat isn't running and ive deleted it. this didn't seem to be the problem (cannot even re-install it now but that another problem), ovi social is the oter suspect and i cannot delete that at all. i have removed the social networks from it though. i was hoping the anna update would fix the problem but for whatever reason, nokia are preventing me from having it! i cannot wait any longer as my monthly net allowance has nearly gone.
