I cant get the ovi store to work. If i uninstall it and reinstall it works but the second time i open it it hangs after the connecting screen (phone doesnt hang, just nothing happens).

First problem:Updating my device;When I try to update my device, it hangs for a few seconds on 'connecting', then I get a connection error. I can connect to the net easy enough, but not update my device.
Second problem.Installing Ebuddy;I've downloaded the popular social networking application to my phone, but when it comes to installing it, i get the error message saying "CONNECTION FAILED! Your internet settings must be activated for Java applications, or try again later.
The Ovi Store on my N8 is not connecting. Everytime i try to connect, the response i get is "unable to connect to service". This makes it impossible for me to add apps to my phone.
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy N8 keeps connecting to OVI Store via WAP when WLAN available. Not only is WLAN available, it is connected and #1 in the list - checked via Connection Manager.
The Browser etc. has no problem - uses WLAN as expected. I can't find anywhere to set the OVI Store access priorities - I assume it's supposed to use Connection Manager?
I have noticed something strange since updating to Anna and the new version of OVI Store application (2.12.042). When I launch the application with 3g connection (over Orange) the application connects to the store without any issues at all. It now has an "Orange Selects" button, which I assume means the application has recognised my sim card as the phone is an operator free version.
The problem is that when I launch the application at home, it attempts to connect via Wi-Fi and is unable to connect to the OVI service. All other internet over wi-fi works fine.
I updated to the new ovi store version but after i updated it it doesnt work it says ovi store cannot connect

My E71 screen goes blank and hangs while charging. This happend two times to me now. I cannot turn off the phone also. But I can answer the calls. My firmware version is 410.21.010.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSince updating to 410.21.010, my E71 occasionally shows a "Insert SIM card" message. This is rather odd, as it's not feasible to do so (the battery blocks the slot), and the SIM hasn't had any trouble before. Worse still, when this occurs the phone becomes entirely useless - not only can I not access running apps (and the model doesn't require a SIM for that), I can't even turn it off.Upon removal of the battery to forcibly restart the phone, it starts just fine, SIM and all - so the card isn't poorly seated or anything like that.

If I restart my phone with the memory card inserted, my phone just hangs on the Nokia white screen and does nothing, but upon removal of the card it starts up fine...
After the phone starts up, I usually re-insert said memory card and everything works fine untill now, after inserting the card, my phone jams up and won't respond to button presses or screen touches....
I've removed the faulty memory card from the phone and done a chkdisk on it, with Windows doing all the repairs to the corrupted files and reinserted it but it still jams the phone up whenever I insert it....
Did a hard reset on my phone and reinserted my card and now it's stuck at a dialogue box thats says : Installing
Are there any ways that I could get it working again without loosing important data on the memory card?
Well when i use the shortcut on my homescreen it says ovi store is not available for your phone.

i've had my 5800 XM about a month now and the ovi store app has never worked. I have installed the latest phone fw and even re downloaded the app from my nokia a few times now but it still will not work. When i launch the ovi store app, all that happens is the ovi store screen comes up but nothing else happens.

I updated it after hard reset a week ago and no Ovi Store with N97 since then. With my other phones it works. Anyone else has the same problem? Perhaps I should try to hard reset again. I have N900, N97, E75, N95, Samsung Ultra Touch and iPhone, and N97 is the one I carry with me. It has great features that cannot be loaded afterwards if they are missing from a device (like great camera, video calls, fm-transmitter...).

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my Nokia software to OVI 2, or whatever its called. I will admit, it does look a bit better than the previous version, seems a bit nicer to use, and I like the fact that music, syncing and updating, is all now done from the same application.
Its about time I didn't have to have 3 separate applications installed for my one cellphone.
But I am having problems.
1. I use my phone to connect to the web, and within the first few minutes I was notified that OVI 2 has stopped working, and needs to close etc. I mean, I hardly used the app, and it crashes just from connecting to the web!?
2. I did a software update for my E63, and halfway through the update, OVI threw up an error and said the device was disconnected. I was nowhere near the USB cable. Thankfully, the software update must have completed, because the phone restarted, and when I checked my software version it was up to 2.00.21.
3. So, I unplugged the phone, plugged it back in to restore my contacts, etc. which worked fine, except I don't have any contacts. Why did the calender entries restore, but not the contacts? Luckily, I have all my numbers saved on my SIM anyways, so I just copied them from there.
Did I do something wrong during the backup/restore?
4. As I write this now, I thought I'd plug my phone in, and just check if I could do the restore again, but the phone no longer comes up with that selection menu allowing me to select PC Suite. I decided to restart my phone.
It has now frozen on the screen where you enter your PIN.
I am having trouble with my phone after updating it recently. I use apps and games from Offscreen Technology which are available on Ovi Store. But after I update my phone to PR1.2, all those Offscreen games and apps are working so laggy. But it was really smooth before I update my phone. I think all the N900 owners are having same problem as me. Is there any solution to fix it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was downloading applications on my phone and during the process it would stop working. I closed out of the Ovi store and now it will not even open. I click on the Ovi store app button and it pops up the symbol(Nokia Ovi) and sits there for eternity. I have reset the phone 3 times and to no avail, it continues. I have uninstalled the application 4-5 times and even tried to download the earlier version. I still can't get into the Ovi store.
I am not sure what happened. I contacted Nokia and they say that my phone doesnt support the Ovi store. My question is HOW was i downloading apps for a week and all of a sudden it just doesnt work. Why would ONE phone not be supported by nokia when clearly on the box, in the instructions, etc., it states that the Ovi store is accessable? I have had this phone for a week and a half and it already has these problems? What kind of smart phone CANT support or download applications, themes, and games.
for a very long time I've been searching for a working OVI Store application for my (Don't kill me now!) Sony Ericsson Satio phone (Jailbreaked), which runs exactly the same OS as the Nokia 5800, Symbian S60V5. It is such a pity that I cant find any applications for my SE ANYWHERE, so I've tried numerous versions of the Ovi Store in my phone. One of them started up, but told me "Resource not exist" when I tried clicking something, one of them didn't start at all, and most of them were unable to install.
