I just bought the E72, and to my surprise I am facing connectivity issue. The moment I try connecting to WLAN, it throws an error: 'server not found' when working on internet. Though I am able to connect through GPRS ( from the mobile operator). Can you please help me with this.
i am using Nokia E63. I want to use it to connect to my office wi-fi. I have downloaded the CA certificate to my phone from my laptop but it still asks for WEP key whereas while connecting thru laptop it doesnt ask for it.The details of the office WLAN are as below pls help Wireless Network Key Setting This network requires a key when Network Authentication: Open Data Encryption : WEP Network Key: This key is provided to me automatically : this is ticked athentication: EAP Type -> Smart Card or other certificate crtificate Properties: Use a certificate for this computer, Validate Server Certificate
When I have enabled my WLAN and try to connect an internet based app or open my browser the WLAN isn't always the connection that the phone chooses to connect with. Is there anyway I can force this? Also, the WLAN connection randomly drops when I connect and back out to the home screen of the phone to open, say, my Facebook app on the shortcuts bar.
I have some problems connecting to the school network.
When I am using my notebook, I have to go through these procedures before using the internet:
1) After I connect to my WLAN, I go to Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> Lan Settings
2) And then I have to tick: "Use a proxy server......connections)", type 192.168.0.5 for the proxy and 8080 for the ports.
3) Then I have to tick the Bypass.....
4) After I clicked OK and stuff, I load the webpage again, and it would ask me for the school account and password.
However, after I entered the proxy and port in my 5530 (Settings -> Connectivity -> Destinations -> Internet -> WLAN Name -> Edit -> Options -> Advanced settings), the phone did not ask me for the user and pass, so I was not able to connect to the internet and when I try to connect to internet, the following message shows up: "Web: Secure connection not available"
I have some problemes connecting my N96 to internet using WLAN, i created an AD HOC network with no encryption and i shared my DSL connection, everything worked fine by after 1 day it stopped, i had "no gateway reply" error message, so i created another new AD HOC network by i have the same error, i tried to delete all WLAN connection in my N96 et to reset it nut nothing worked.
I´ve had my Mini 5 months now and after a learning period it´s been great and in my control. Last week or so it started to connect itself to my wi-fi at home, thus draining my battery. When I turn it off it only takes a few moments before it reconnects. I have read posts here about this problem but none of the advices have helped me. Every setting I have checked has been as I want them: always ask before connecting!
I recently bought the nokia c3 because of wlan feature but when i am trying to connect the wlan after entering the security key (as my wlan is protected) it shows wlan connection failed.i am able to access the wlan through my other phone but not through c3?
I was able to connect via WLAN on my E71, for some reason now, it gives me "no gateway reply". I have just read through all the topics, tried different things for about 2 1/2 hours now but nothing seems to work
My router is Tilgin with QTEL. I go to the Wlan wizard and it finds my network, it then ask for the WEP key, no problem there but then it comes up with the error after trying to connect.
I'm having a problem in my 5800. I have a WLAN working at home and it can not find any WLAN anywere. I tryed also in diferent places where they have open networks and it simply starts searching and it never ends. Even if we configure manualy an acess point.
After updateing to 30.0.019 firmware, the program that started the WLAN connecting precedure cannot use the connection. The connection is working in the background and OTHER programs can use it......but, as I wrote, not the first one. Seems to be a bug?!
Hi everyone! I've experienced a problem connecting to a GPRS/WLAN: just in the moment of connection to the access point the browser is closing with no error message, the same with Nokia Maps - no connection to the net, while GPS is working properly. I checked the settings, I contacted my cell provider and they verifyed them, everything is correct, still it doesn't connect. Maybe it's just a software bug and the update will fix it? If not, what should I do?
Firstly My E72 all of a sudden started update problems, this is how i do my updates:
Go to Menu->Ctr.Panel->Phone->Dev.Mgr.From Dev.Mgr i click on options and then i select Check for updates. Phone ask for net connection i select my net connection and all of a sudden i get a message "SYSTEM ERROR".I have no idea why? Please help me on this issue.
Secondly Few days back the elctricity went away and when it came my router started but unfortunately my E72 can see the connection but cant connect to it, After having a word with my ISP i got connected.
After few hours i was surfing OVI Store and then the WLAN problem started. i restared the phone but to my surprise when tried to get connect to my net using acces point the WLAN scanning off came on the main screen. When i tried to switch on WLAN i got a message "Syatem Unable" and my Fring software got stuck.
Now whenevr i try to ge connect using my access point WLAN GOES Switched off with that message and even i tried to re install fring but it gets strucked. The funny part is when i want to surf net using the access point i have to go through the internet ooption and then it asks my WEP key(Though i have already defined) after i enter the key Mobile gets connected to net(It shows sign also) and WLAN goes switched off.Even fring installation is fine but when i start fring it hangs.
I started having this issue when I have updated to 022.009. My E52 would say WLAN network found even when there are no WLAN networks detected. It would only show Hidden WLAN in the scanned networks. I am certain that there are no WLAN networks around when I experimented on it. Anyone having this same glitch?
So I picked up my brand new X6 today, and it's a really great phone. However what I notice is that for certain apps like the ovi store or maps, I cannot choose a connection which it should go through, and it always connects through my operator's network instead of my WLAN which is in range...How can I change connection behavious for these (and other) applications? I already set my connection order to Wlan first and then the operator connection, which works fine for ebuddy to give an example...so what's wrong with the other stuff?
How do you use the GPS under your WLAN? I got the GPS working once.used it and it was fine. But ever since then I haven't been able to get it to work. I have set my connection to 'online' and the Network destination to 'Internet' (VF Au Internet). When i try to use it all it says in the top right hand corner is connecting, but never connects. Other times it says sign in and I attempt to but says there is 'no connection'.Sometimes when i change some of these options to test it it freezes on me and sometimes resets itself. What settings are wrong or what am I doing wrong?
1 Access your router through internet brower by entering 10.0.0.02 in the web address.
2 Click on Interface Setup, and click on WIRELESS and enter following settings:
Access point = Activated SSID = enter any name you want Broadcast SSIS = Yes Channel ID = choose want you want Authentication type = choose WEP 64 bits (easier to work with)
Then Enter 4 hexadecimal keys with a prefix of 0x (zero x) e.g 0xa9bc1d3ef2
Make sure you use 802.11 b+g option, under advanced settings depending on your router
SEARCHING WLAN CONNECTION ON E51
3 Then USE your NOKIA E51 to scan for WLAN networks. when you find this network - with SSID name you set above, try to browse so that you get an option to save it as a DEFINED ACCESS POINT. save it
GETTING ROUTER IP SETTINGS
4 Now go to DOS command on the computer where the ROUTER is connected, and type ipconfig /all Then a list of your windows IP configuration will come on. Write down the IP Address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway, you will need these later on
SETTING UP YOUR E51
5 Now go to your E51 and go to MENU-TOOLS-SETTINGS-Connection-Access Points-Choose the WLAN name that you just saved and ENTER- now you are the Access points ( Network SSID name) configuration page. Enter the following settings:
WLAN SETTINGS ON E51
Connection Name = should be the same with your SSID Data Bearer = Wireless LAN WLAN Network Name = SSID (as the connection Name above) Network Status = Public WLAN Network Mode = Infrastructure WLAN Security Mode = Same as your authentication mode/type in the ROUTER e.g WEP WLAN Security Settings = Enter the Keys as they appear in the Router
You are done with this,
IP SETTINGS ON E51
On the same screen Press OPTIONS - Advanced Settings. LEAVE everything else AS IS. Just change the following: IPv4 Settings (press enter) Get these from the "GETTING ROUTER IP SETTINGS" section above, DOS- ipconfig /all command- remember?
Phone IP Address = the one you wrote down, but with a bit of modification e.g if your wrote down IP is 10.0.0.100, here you will put 10.0.0.110 or so, only change the last 2 digits. Make sure you understand this
Subnet Mask = the one you wrote down
Default gateway = the one you wrote down
GO back to CONNECTION then choose Wireless LAN - Show WLAN Availability (enter your preference - YES or Never)
Now on the same screen Press OPTIONS button on the left side- Choose Advanced Settings and YES to continue
LEAVE everything else AS IS, ONLY CHANGE the following settings
Automatic configuration = Disabled Long retry limit = Choose higher number eg 20 Short retry limit = Choose higher number eg 60 Power Saving = Disabled
EXIT by pressing BACK button. BROWSE THE INTERNET YOU ARE SET
I am going to order Nokia CS-15 internet stick. I need to share that connection for two computers, one with LAN cable and other with WLAN. Now I'd like to know which WLAN -routers support that stick, if someone knows.
I have a N80 for almost two years. I used to be able to detect and access the wifi connection at home through a Belkin N1 wireless router. Ever since the wireless router went faulty and I have it for an one-to-one exchange, my N80 is not able to detect the WLAN signal at all.
There is no issue of detecting the Wifi signal on my N82 though. This is the setting I have on my router. Doea anyone able to shed some lights on what is wrong here? My N80? The router settings (which one?). FYI, i tried on another N80 and it is not detecting the signal too.
I cant connect to my WLan, yesterday till night it was workin fine and now it isnt. i installed Fring on it, for 2 days it worked fine, thn this happend now i hav even uninstalled tht, still it hasnt helped. Now, i also uninstalled the connected on set, thn created it all again, but whn i start to browse, it says connection not available. and closes. I have no idea wats wrong wid it. I dnt wanna lose the data on it ..
I just bought a E63 yesterday and tried to connect to the WLAN at home. The scanning can detect my WLAN but after connecting and selecting the address that I want to go to, my phone shows, WLAN not found. I reckon it has something got to do with the connectivity. However the WLAN connection on my laptop is excellent as I was just sitting right in front of the router when I tried it out. It seems like the reception on my phone is not quite good too as it cannot detect my WLAN when I'm not too far away.
When I disconnect my home router in conn mgr it disconnects, but then reconnects about a minute later, despite seeming not doing anything. Is there a way to turn it off so it only connects when needed? I don't want this to affect my battery life and be connected when it needn't be.
