View 4 RepliesMy N8 keeps connecting to OVI Store via WAP when WLAN available. Not only is WLAN available, it is connected and #1 in the list - checked via Connection Manager.
The Browser etc. has no problem - uses WLAN as expected. I can't find anywhere to set the OVI Store access priorities - I assume it's supposed to use Connection Manager?
i am using Nokia E63. I want to use it to connect to my office wi-fi. I have downloaded the CA certificate to my phone from my laptop but it still asks for WEP key whereas while connecting thru laptop it doesnt ask for it.The details of the office WLAN are as below pls help

When I have enabled my WLAN and try to connect an internet based app or open my browser the WLAN isn't always the connection that the phone chooses to connect with. Is there anyway I can force this? Also, the WLAN connection randomly drops when I connect and back out to the home screen of the phone to open, say, my Facebook app on the shortcuts bar.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIīve had my Mini 5 months now and after a learning period itīs been great and in my control. Last week or so it started to connect itself to my wi-fi at home, thus draining my battery. When I turn it off it only takes a few moments before it reconnects. I have read posts here about this problem but none of the advices have helped me. Every setting I have checked has been as I want them: always ask before connecting!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just got a Nokia 500 to replace my X6 and its a great little phone, but I can't find a way to turn off WLAN to conserve the battery. I set it up to connect to my home network, but everytime I disconnect it on the phone using the widgit on screen, it refreshes a few minutes later and reconnects - I've turned scanning off and set connection to manual but it made no difference.

View 2 Replies View Relatedhow do i get my N8 to stay disconnected from wlan when i'm at home? Gone through all my settings but it still re-connects when i select disconnect.
My old 5800 you selected disconnect and it did that and stayed off till i wanted to reconnect but the N8 just keeps on re-connecting. Will this eat my battery life if it stays connected ?
how to use WLan on my Nokia N97 Mini. I was able to detect the free Wi-fi connection in a mall. But after connecting i was unable to access any sites as it gave error: invalid server name. Ive tried at Mumbai Airport as well, but still the same error. I tried many different site but still the same error. Also sometime when i try some sites after connecting to WLAN, it prompts to connect via GPRS which should not be the case I believe. Both GPRS and WLAN are different. How do I access Internet via W-fi and not with the GPRS.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've setup my wlan access in Internet destination. In this destination I set up wlan as priority 1 and mobile data as priority 2.Phone keeps moving wlan from Internet to Uncategorised destination. If I move it back to Internet it stays for some time and goes back to Uncategorised. Sometimes it happens while browsing. I want to go back one page and phone will show that it can't find the address. Have to go to settings and move it back to Internet destination. Ad nauseam. Did not have this problem on N8. My phone has static IP address on my home modem.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that I always have to select my home WiFi network when at home but I am (pretty) sure this used to happen automatically. Is it possible that the menu options have been changed during the update to Symbian Anna.I never managed to be offered the 1/2 update to Anna so maybe something is missing.I have 3 menu's under connectivity in WLAN
- Switch to WLAN
- Data use in home country (user manual says Data use in home network)
- Data use when abroad (not mentioned in User Manual)
Ideally, when I need to access the internet, I would like my phone to automatically connect to my Home network if I am at home, secondly if not at homem, to automatically connect to other WLAN's that I have used previously if or if none available, connect via my ISP (use up some of my Data allowance)Always Nokia since 1994 including Nokia 2140, 7110e, 6150, 6210, 6310i, 6230i, N82Current: Nokia N8 (Anna) - and delighted with it!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've looked around on the net but have not been able to find a solution to this problem.Using an N8 (on Nokia Belle), the WLAN settings does not seem to provide any place to specify the username and password for a proxy based network (Note:this is not the pre-shared key for the WLAN, but the username and password asked by the proxy server). When the browser is used, it prompts for the username and password and then works. However other applications cannot connect to this network as they seemingly lack this feature and the phone does not make this globally available.Nokia Configuration Tool (NCT) 6.3 seems to allow placement of username and password values. When configuration is transferred back to phone, NCT shows successfully configured, but this does not seem to be the case when the settings are used by the phone.
View 9 Replies View Relatedwhenever i see i have a network connection, i have no apps running and the phone is set to only connect when needed. under the connection manager it says its connected to the nokia server and something about xmpp. the nokia chat isn't running and ive deleted it. this didn't seem to be the problem (cannot even re-install it now but that another problem), ovi social is the oter suspect and i cannot delete that at all. i have removed the social networks from it though. i was hoping the anna update would fix the problem but for whatever reason, nokia are preventing me from having it! i cannot wait any longer as my monthly net allowance has nearly gone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was using Windows XP Pro 32bit until recently and never had any problems connecting tot he internet with my N8. Recently I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. I can still connect to the internet without any problems, but the problem I have is that the internet is "slow", although I have a 3.5G connection.
I have watched the "status" of my connection and I can see that what happens is that some data will come through, and then nothing will happen for a while, and then some data will go through again. So it's a kind of intermittent connection. This is super annoying, and it's hard to google this problem.
I also have a Nokia N82 and that doesn't give me the same problem, but i don't want to swap my simcard each time I want to use the internet.
I bought my x6 today, and thought it was a great little phone. I haven't had any of the usb problems that people have, but it just insists on connecting to the internet.I set the phone to receive my emails on a whim and mostly for the novelty, and about 5 minutes after closing it, I noticed it was still connected. I tried exiting it through all the various different menu screens, but it wouldn't go away. Eventually, I deleted the mailbox, but it was still connected. I then took to holding the hang up button to make it disconnect, which I thought was a success, only to find out it's connected its self again a minute later.I'm on t-mobile, and it's connecting to the packet data "T-mobile internet" access point, or at least the little 3G icon is always up.I've just tried setting it to "always ask", and it does it any wa

3. Is there an option to make wifi automatically connect to an UNLOCKED wifi network? Meaning I'm entering my office with my phone for a first time, wifi on - will it automatically connect to the open network in the office?
I bought a Nokia 5230 for my wife a few days ago (neither of us know a great deal about mobile phones) and whenever the phone is on, it seems to connect to the Internet, which uses up all our talk time (we don't yet have a contract with a phone company). We have tried all the settings to keep the Internet disconnected, but it still seems to be happening? This is really infuriating!
