Nokia Nseries :: X6 Keeps Connecting Its Self To The Internet?
Feb 28, 2010
I bought my x6 today, and thought it was a great little phone. I haven't had any of the usb problems that people have, but it just insists on connecting to the internet.I set the phone to receive my emails on a whim and mostly for the novelty, and about 5 minutes after closing it, I noticed it was still connected. I tried exiting it through all the various different menu screens, but it wouldn't go away. Eventually, I deleted the mailbox, but it was still connected. I then took to holding the hang up button to make it disconnect, which I thought was a success, only to find out it's connected its self again a minute later.I'm on t-mobile, and it's connecting to the packet data "T-mobile internet" access point, or at least the little 3G icon is always up.I've just tried setting it to "always ask", and it does it any wa
since im not connected to wifi and got no mobile data i always see this message at the top of my screen "Connection Failed: connection unavailable " for every 3 secs or so. i suspect i installed this anti-theft stuff that went hide and i cant see it anywhere anymore. noteven on list of installed applications.
I was using Windows XP Pro 32bit until recently and never had any problems connecting tot he internet with my N8. Recently I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. I can still connect to the internet without any problems, but the problem I have is that the internet is "slow", although I have a 3.5G connection.
I have watched the "status" of my connection and I can see that what happens is that some data will come through, and then nothing will happen for a while, and then some data will go through again. So it's a kind of intermittent connection. This is super annoying, and it's hard to google this problem.
I also have a Nokia N82 and that doesn't give me the same problem, but i don't want to swap my simcard each time I want to use the internet.
I bought a Nokia 5230 for my wife a few days ago (neither of us know a great deal about mobile phones) and whenever the phone is on, it seems to connect to the Internet, which uses up all our talk time (we don't yet have a contract with a phone company). We have tried all the settings to keep the Internet disconnected, but it still seems to be happening? This is really infuriating!
connecting nokia N8 to internet via Talk Talk router with WEP. I have just updated my Nokia's software and now I can use an internet because I'm getting error. I can connect to the router, there is a status "connected" but then the internet not working.
I am using nokia 5800 which supports hsdpa upto 3.6 mbps.but when i connect to the pc via usb the modem is showing max link speed of 921.6 kbps.So my Q is if the 3.5g network supports 3.6 mbps the how much speed can i get using my pc?

whenever i see i have a network connection, i have no apps running and the phone is set to only connect when needed. under the connection manager it says its connected to the nokia server and something about xmpp. the nokia chat isn't running and ive deleted it. this didn't seem to be the problem (cannot even re-install it now but that another problem), ovi social is the oter suspect and i cannot delete that at all. i have removed the social networks from it though. i was hoping the anna update would fix the problem but for whatever reason, nokia are preventing me from having it! i cannot wait any longer as my monthly net allowance has nearly gone.
i have been using my phone on the 3g 3.5g networksince last week i have not been able to connect to either, no logo comes up above the clock on my phone
I have problem for connecting N79 to PC I use OVI Suite version 2.2.0.245. when i connect PC to internet via OVI suite for first time , there isnt any problem and connects to internet and all webpages completely are loaded , but after a few minutes my browser doesnt work and doesnt load any page and shows " server not found". but the connection between the PC and mobile still exists. after that i disconnect the connection and reconnect but this time the connection doesnt establish and shows an error with the content of "PPP link". after that i go to "device manager" and disable the Nokia GSM Modem and then enable that. then i connect PC to internet via OVI Suite with no problem AGAIN!. there isnt any problem for loading page But AGAIN after some minutes the browser doesnt work ! recently I reinstalled windows XP, but still nothing changes!. even i use latest Nokia Connectivity cable driver version 7.1.31.0. my cellphone has RM-348
My phone will connect to my WLAN at home for no apparent reason (as in I'm not using the any application which requires interweb) and when I get annoyed and disconnect from that because it is just EATING my battery it think "Jesus there's no internet connection" panics then connects via gprs or whatever. Now I turned off the email program because it is eating my battery constantly being connected and am having to charge it every night! But is there any way of making it so that it only connects when the program is open? Any thoughts?
I tried steps given in manual and websites but failed. First it tries to connect with Vodafone network but then after sometime it says "Failed"..In Nokia Device indication showz it is connecting to internet as it does without PC..but does not get connected.i have taken Vodafone mobile connect package and after disconnecting it showz some data transfer but in PC no it always says Connect failed...and when i try to connect second time it says..Sim Card Missing..i have updated all Nokia Suite and Nokia Device software and i have purchased it in Sep 2011 with 5 megapixel camera.
I bought Lumia 900 so I could finally listen music on the move, play games and basically do something else than just send messages and make phonecalls, but for now that's all I can do.
From the very start after I entered the PIN code it couldn't connect to my Windows Live ID. The Wi-FI won't work, the cingular won't work etc...
My screen has is blacked out.I have downloaded and installed nokia suite 3.386. I want to save my contacts and messages to the computer.
I tried connecting the phone with the usb but because I dont see anything I cannot make the right choice. post a step by step guide which will enable me to connect my phone to the pc suite.
E.g (1. Click the menu, 2. then click left soft key. 3. then go down 3 times.)
My 5800XM keeps connecting to the internet, at least once per day. I don't want it to do this because I'm on PAYG and would like to be in control of when I pay to connect to the internet. There are no apps running and I've started uninstalling lots of things to try to narrow down why this keeps happening. The default connection is Always Ask, I've done everything I could find to make silent unconfirmed internet connection impossible. Is there any way of determining what is using the internet connection?
This new phone is giving me a headache. I am trying to connect to my wireless internet and this device keeps asking for a WEP Key. I am using a WPA-Personal password but can not get the N900 to give me the option to use the WPA passphrase. Can someome please help me get my device connected?
I got some problems with my 5530.When i try to get on to a web page or open the search bar at all, it just pops up and gets right out again. It worked fine before, got the question to use WLAN or WAP.But now i don't even get that question, I simply can't get into "Web" at all.I`ve tried everything.. Someone who maybe know the problem? Please let me know.
I face this problem with my new E52: After connecting it to internet through Wifi and usually when i try to close my connection the phone appears the message "System Error" and "freezes" while the only way to start it again is through turning it off and on.
The software version is the 021.013 (3-7-09) and for my mobile network is the last available version (there is no any update available today). Another problem with this mobile is that usually looses it's date or time while it is turn off during the night or sometimes turning it off and on.
Sounds ok but alas no. It always connects around midnight, I presume something is trying to update. As I have no free net usage is costs me £1 per night. I have had the phone for around 2 months and this has started since i had the phone, the only thing I have installed is the network provider info, no apps or nothing. My service provider says there is nothing wrong their end and it must be the phone, they have cut off my internet and the charges have stopped, so something is definitely trying to connect, but as I have said the phone is standard. I cannot find any reference to anyone else having the same problem on the internet, I have downloaded kaspersky anti virus and it has scanned my phone and says there are no viruses.
Whenever I turn my phone on, within a few seconds it has connected to the internet, which is draining my phone credit. I've tried changing the following: Settings -> Connectivity -> Admin Settings -> Packet Data -> When Needed / When Available but this doesn't make a difference. And within minutes of going through Settings -> Connectivity -> Connection Manager. The WAP has reconnected.
My 5800XM has stopped connecting to the internet. If I go to, say the Ovi Store, I get the frot page, but instead of going to the Store, it returns to the previous screen. The same happens with other websites, too. The phone usually asks how I wish to connect - WAP, wireless network and so on, but it is no longer doing so. I do hope I have just inadvertently changed a setting or something, as I have just got my phone back from being repaired, which took nearly 3 weeks.
Ive joined o2 web where u pay £7.50 a month for unlimited internet but when I try to connect it says connecting via o2 WAP then says no connection available. I've tried it at home, work, everywhere but still nothing? my dad is on exactly the same and works perfect everywhere. it works at home connecting to the WiFi. So I guess I am just not setting it up properly.
I am new to viewing Emails and browsing the web on my mobile, and have recently subscribed to a pay monthly SIM. I set up access to my hotmail account via the mailbox in the messaging section of my N97 mini. Since then, my phone keeps randomly connecting to the internet ( or the icon on the screen appears to be connected). I deleted the hotmail account in my mailbox, but it is still connecting randomly. Prior to this problem, my phone connected to my home network if I was within range , or prompted me to connect to Orange GPRS if I was out of range.
I Have now deleted/disabled the Orange Gprs settings ( I assume I will have to phone Orange to send me new settings when I get this sorted?) ,and now when I restart my phone, away from home, it asks if I want to search for WLan, due to the fact it cannot connect to Orange. When I am at home it connects to my WiFi. It is though there is a process or app on my phone needing Internet access? Would any sort of reset delete all my settings, so I can start again? I have done a backup without backing up my settings in anticipation of doing so.
my phone X2 02 .....it update via Nokia care Colombo...but i can't radio recording now......i don't what to do.....before i visit Nokia care because Nokia browser going Chinese language & facebook apps and can't acess to internet ..so after updating nokia browser it's back to english languge & can go internet but facebook app and other still didn't acess internet.Moderator's note: The post moved from another thread. 1. Is there such a thing as autoconnect to familier networks?Meaning If i connect once to wifi network, will it always connect to it, even if encrypted?
2.IF answer to (1) is yes: If I'm about to enter an area with a Wifi network that my Nokia 701 automatically connects to, will it connect to it and stop using 3G? Meaning, does it use only Wifi, and not 3G, when connected to Wifi?
3. Is there an option to make wifi automatically connect to an UNLOCKED wifi network? Meaning I'm entering my office with my phone for a first time, wifi on - will it automatically connect to the open network in the office?
My N8 keeps connecting to OVI Store via WAP when WLAN available. Not only is WLAN available, it is connected and #1 in the list - checked via Connection Manager.
The Browser etc. has no problem - uses WLAN as expected. I can't find anywhere to set the OVI Store access priorities - I assume it's supposed to use Connection Manager?
I have presently configured three different emails on my email setup on my Nokia E72. However, I'm wanting to setup the email so that it connects to the email server primarily using any wireless network which is available and then, if wireless networks are unavailable, turning to either Contract Internet or Contract WAP for a connection.Does anyone have any idea how to go about setting this up?
My E71 keeps connecting to the internet via mobile 02 everynight automatically (strangely always around 2 mins past midnight). Its cost me sixty pounds over the last 2 months. I've uninstalled most of my downloads incase one of them was automatically connecting for updates but this has made no difference. The other night I switched the phone off at midnight but it still connected when I turned it back on. I've rung 02 and they've said it must be to do with a setting on the phone.
