Nokia Nseries :: N8 Keeps Connecting To The Net?
Aug 24, 2011whenever i see i have a network connection, i have no apps running and the phone is set to only connect when needed. under the connection manager it says its connected to the nokia server and something about xmpp. the nokia chat isn't running and ive deleted it. this didn't seem to be the problem (cannot even re-install it now but that another problem), ovi social is the oter suspect and i cannot delete that at all. i have removed the social networks from it though. i was hoping the anna update would fix the problem but for whatever reason, nokia are preventing me from having it! i cannot wait any longer as my monthly net allowance has nearly gone.

I tried connecting the phone with the usb but because I dont see anything I cannot make the right choice. post a step by step guide which will enable me to connect my phone to the pc suite.

Apr 26, 2012since im not connected to wifi and got no mobile data i always see this message at the top of my screen "Connection Failed: connection unavailable " for every 3 secs or so. i suspect i installed this anti-theft stuff that went hide and i cant see it anywhere anymore. noteven on list of installed applications.

May 15, 2011I was using Windows XP Pro 32bit until recently and never had any problems connecting tot he internet with my N8. Recently I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. I can still connect to the internet without any problems, but the problem I have is that the internet is "slow", although I have a 3.5G connection.
I have watched the "status" of my connection and I can see that what happens is that some data will come through, and then nothing will happen for a while, and then some data will go through again. So it's a kind of intermittent connection. This is super annoying, and it's hard to google this problem.
I also have a Nokia N82 and that doesn't give me the same problem, but i don't want to swap my simcard each time I want to use the internet.

I haven't had any of the usb problems that people have, but it just insists on connecting to the internet.I set the phone to receive my emails on a whim and mostly for the novelty, and about 5 minutes after closing it, I noticed it was still connected. I tried exiting it through all the various different menu screens, but it wouldn't go away. Eventually, I deleted the mailbox, but it was still connected. I then took to holding the hang up button to make it disconnect, which I thought was a success, only to find out it's connected its self again a minute later.I'm on t-mobile, and it's connecting to the packet data "T-mobile internet" access point, or at least the little 3G icon is always up.I've just tried setting it to "always ask", and it does it any wa

The Browser etc. has no problem - uses WLAN as expected. I can't find anywhere to set the OVI Store access priorities - I assume it's supposed to use Connection Manager?

Is there anyway I can force this? Also, the WLAN connection randomly drops when I connect and back out to the home screen of the phone to open, say, my Facebook app on the shortcuts bar.

Jan 2, 2013I bought my Nokia Lumia 920 a couple days ago, made all the updates alvaible but still I can't connect my phone to my MacBook Pro.The funny part is that my dropbox application on my mac detect my phone and tries to import my pictures where neither iTunes or Finder are able to recognize my Nokia. The all support we got is to download a app which is not working for the OSX 10.6.8 and they seem to force us to upgrade to the 10.7 OSX.It is my right, as a consummer, to choose to OS I want for my laptop and it is to both Windows and Nokia to make their devices compatible to their customers computers.So here is my call to all Nokia and Windows developpers: Do not ignore us, there is a problem and the first step in order to solve it is to recognize this problem.The least you can do is to tell us that you are currently working on it because I feel all alone in the dark but I am pretty sure I am not alone and you might loose some clients that are delighted with your phone but really "**bleep**" off the way that they are treated in the process of solving this important problem.
