Nokia Nseries :: My N5800 Won't Connect To Internet
Nov 19, 2011
I've always connected my nokia xpress music to the internet. But one day it didn't work, I didn't touch nothing. When I connect to a wireless its says nothing and the icon shows that it is connected, but in Truth its connected to none. And when I try to reconnect it it says close the active connection and when I try to do that it says that I'm not connected. And when I do this after a minute or 2 my phone turns off!
I exported all the messgaes from my nokia5800 into a csv file using nokia ovi suite. Then i deleted all the messages from my mobile and again imported the messages.all the messges were imported to nokia ovi suite and then i synced ovi suite to mobile. But nothing happened.
I often use wireless, but sometimes it has poor signal and is impossible to use so I also use simple mobile internet. Usually the phone using opera mini asks if you want to use mobile internet (not wireless) but now it almost never does, so I get the connection error message as there is no wireless, but I also cannot use my mobile internet. Just today it gave me problems because of that. So bassicly, I cannot use internet, unless I have good wireless signal. And I have mobile internet as priority number 1 in my settings. So is there something else to do? This problem is appearing and dissapearing. Thought could be from bad wireless, it kinda locks itself on it or something, but turning off the phone doesn't help.
i have updated my nokia 500 to belle from nokia customer care since the internet is not working in in now what to do?i can't found any symbol up like 3G,edge, gprs the is working well in other mobiles.reinstall firmware will use any internet connect or it will cause any harm to phone if it is undone in middle of the process so tell me fast
I got some data package and all set up went fine. Nokia store and web browser are connecting just fine as well as some apps such as "QuickBeer", "News", "NokiaGoal", "Maps and Drive". However other apps, which I like to check quite often, such as "Bloomberg" and "Allaboutsymbian" do not connect while mobile data is ON. (they do only in WiFi)
Regarding software settings: WAP services is my default connection. Allow mobile data usage: Home country Admin settings --> Mobile data connection: when needed High speed packet access: Enable. So everything works just fine but the mentioned apps above.
And regarding phone and OS info: Nokia 700 Software version: 111.030.0609 Custom Version: 111.030.0609.596.02 Type: RM-670 Product code: 059L1G3 (giving this information 'cause am still waiting for FP1) Running this little phone in US under ATT provider (pay as you go)
Nokia 5800xm can't connect to internet or ovi store.Just got my phone back after a Firmware reset. Now it can't connect to internet or ovi store. It keeps coming up with Invalid Server Name.
my PC was able to connect to the internet with my 5800 via a USB cable. Now, I can no longer connect to the internet with the 5800 via a USB cable.I had never tried connecting the computer to the internet with the 5800 via Bluetooth prior to this incident, so I tried that.Strangely, it works. My question is how come I can no longer use the 5800 via USB as a modem, but how come the 5800 via Bluetooth still works as a working modem? I just feel better using the USB connection and knowing that my 5800 has a clean bill of health.BTW, my PC is on Windows 7 Professional at the moment.I've tried uninstalling the Ovi Suite and reinstalling it, but that didn't work.I've also tried using PC suite instead of the Ovi Suite but that didn't work either. What other options do I have, beside hard resetting the phone?BTW, the message shown when I tried to connect to the internet with the 5800 USB modem was "failed to establish a network connection".
I'm unable to connect to internet over the phone via bluetooth connection. But i'n able to connect to internet via usb cable. I believe it might be a bug as i'm able to use bluetooth to sync my contact to PC and transfer photo to other phones
I just updated my N8 from symbian anna to belle. Everything went ok. Now I'm trying to connect to my home wifi network which has WEB security. I can connect without a problem. I mean the phone says it's connected to the network. But when I try to access a website there is only the error page. And after a minute or so the wifi connection drops out by itself. I saved the network, and there's no other destination in the settings/destinations menu. the phone is not connecting to it by itself. Is there a way to go back to Anna?
I started a backup of my N5800 over an hour ago. It finished "user files from phone memory", contacts, calendar, notes, messages, bookmarks in about 10 minutes. Then it started on "phone model-specific backup" (at 50% of the big progress bar). And hasn't progressed a pixel since then.I got fed up with watching "do not use or disconnect the phone during the operating", so I clicked "cancel". Then it asks me if I really want to cancel. I can then click the checkmark (green) and not hte red cross, and now 5 minutes later, it has not stopped. It is still at 50%, doing "phone model-specific backup". How long should I wait for it to backup my N5800? How long should I wait for the "cancel backup" button to react? 5 minutes seems that it should be possible for an operation to cancel. I'm a bit unfamilar with Windows. I'm a Linux user, so I may be a bit spoiled in that I expect a progress bar to update more than once an hour, or that a cancel button should work within 5 minutes.
After few months of using phone, more and more files are becoming corrupted...
my phone: Nokia 5800
firmware: 50.0.005
code: 0573860
memory card: original micro SD - Nokia 8GB class6
After few months of using phone, more and more files are becoming corrupted. It's mean your videos, your audio files and maps is no more usable. After formating memory card works everything OK, but only for while (few weeks or months). What I should to do? Still do memory card formats, or try to buy new memory card?Anyway my girlfriend has the same phone and she has the same problem. So its mean, probably all nokia 5800s has this BUG.Why nokia is not able to make one good phone model without bugs?
Recently my Nokia 5800 has had problems connecting to my computer through Mass Storage option. Will connect no problem through PC Suite but not as a USB Mass storage.Have re-downloaded the drivers and installed them again and still same problem.
I'm a very happy owner of the world's worst mobile - Nokia 5800 - a smart phone with absolutely no reliability. So far it has helped me so much that, if I had my pockets full of pencils, I could eventually substitute them for the Nokia. Here are some simple everyday situations where the frustration of having a nokia kicks in really fast.
Few days ago: Situation: Must go from A to B by train. Problem: Don't know when train comes. Solution: Nokia 5800 web browser, train time table site. Obstacle: "Memory Full. Please go and jump out of your window" Solution II: Not using Nokia.
Two days ago: Situation: Three electricity counter readings must be submitted. Problem: No paper and no pen in pockets, only Nokia. Solution: Take a photo, simple as that. Obstacle: Tried to view the photo, but the media button randomly didn't work. Restarted and it works again. Now why would a media button randomly stop working?? Obstacle II: Phone is restarting for ages. Solution II: Not using Nokia. Use -- paper!!, simple as that.
Some time ago: Situation: Need to know what time is it. Problem: No watch on my hand, only Nokia in pocket. Solution: Unlock the keypad and see what time is it. Obstacle: On sliding the touch lock the screen goes black and the phone starts to vibrate and does not stop, making me embarrassed to the people standing by, because now I have vibrating **bleep** in my hands!!!! Solution II: Take out the battery, consider putting the phone in the trashbin, not using Nokia. Ask what time is to the old lady while Nokia restarts as the old lady crosses the WHOLE COUNTRY!!
Not so long ago: Situation: Must make an important phone call. Problem: People don't make phone calls by brainwaves, now do they? Obstacle:Made the phonecall, said "Hello" and <zappp>, no more phonecall, the phone randomly restarts. Now it never had been so bold before this.!! I thought it has a phone call protection against rebooting during a phonecall, but NOOOOO, it of course doesn't wooork. Solution II:Not use Nokia.
Yesterday: Situation: Insurance company must have sent me an invoice. Problem: Out of curiosity can't resist checking email while mobile. Solution: Open e-mail account, press the Connect button. Obstacle: The Connect button does not respond. Solution II: Press it harder, TWICE!!!! Obstacle: The screen fades out and the phone restarts. Solution III: Not use Nokia.
Before a week: Situation: Must find an address I don't know, and reach it. Problem: Don't know where it is. Solution: Use Nokia Maps, oh excuse me, OVI maps. Obstacle: The search returns no results. Now, how can you not find this??? Blahblah street 143 - what's there not to find?? Solution II: Not use Nokia, use Google Maps (definitely not on Nokia). Found it.!!
Long time ago, and guess why long... : Situation: Let's enjoy some great music on this not-nokia-sony-ericsson Bluetooth headset by using the ultra-fabulous NokiaTrashPress XMusicPerience, it's supposed to be great, isn't it? Solution: Pair Headset to Nokia 5800, and turn on the music player. Success!! - it works ow wowowowowowowwowow i'm so freakin' excited. Obstacle: The second track made no sound. Solution II: Check what's wrong. Obstacle II: The media player has shut down by itself. Solution III: Not use Nokia!!!!! And I could write many more of these..Now, I have performed countless hard resets, trying to optimize every little bit. SOO little applications installed!!Symbian platform brings a great idea within itself. But it just doesn't work on Nokia phones..Didn't Nokia invent this Symbian? Then why doesn't it work???And this has been so far my experience with any Nokia Symbian phone regardless of the price, regardless of the market segment, regardless of the phase of the moon. And I am very suspicious that the same is going to be with Symbian^3 5 7 9 whatever...I just don't care anymore...My next cellphone budget goes to either Apple or Windows mobile, Android, HTC or anything else that's not Symbian and not even close to a NOKIA, because Nokia it's just a parody of a cell phone, no wonder why the USA and Japanese market doesn't love Nokia, not just because most of them are very ugly, just because they don't work...
Few hours ago nothing was wrong with my phone. All of a sudden everything on my memory card was Deleted. I didn't know wat exactly happened so I tried to restart the phone, but bothing happened. I tried to remove the battery and put it back again , and still the same and now I have nothing on my phone.
I have a problem with phone music store applications. After i start music store i can't login or go to main page because when i press those buttons i get error "Music store: Unable to perform operation" Tried to do hard reset and update firmware again with no help. FW: 40.0.005. I think this problem came with this new V40 firmware or shortly after that when i lost email notification from shortcut homescreen.
due to several reasons it seems that I need to format my N5800 XM existing memory card but I have installed quite a lot of applications so recreating them would be quite a pain. The question is: is it possible to do a complete backup from the Nokia Ovi Suite program, format the memory card and then _restore_ all contents including memory card contents so it will be exactly as before?
I have just got my N5800 but one thing is driving me crazy - it randomly makes a "ching ching" noise and its very irritating - its just done it twice while I am typing this up. Is there some application that I have got open (ie checked and cant see any) or is there some kind of alert that I have forgot to turn off - either way its doing my head in. The alrm function seems to do what ever it wants, so far it will either got off on time or 3 mins late or just not at all - am I missing something ? Surely the alarm function cant be that complicated to set and get right?
I've bought a N97 mini and I'm very happy with it.However in the past week until now, I can't connect to the internet unless i connect via wireless lan. With GPRS i can't.I open the browser, it shows me on the top left corner the phone is trying to make a connection and then hangs up after 3seconds.
1 - I've check the definitions with my service provider
Recently I have just moved to Spain, therefore I have unlocked my C7 and bought a new Spanish sim (Yoigo) for mainly accessing the internet. However I am unable to access the Yoigo internet. Everytime I try to, it says 'Connecting to T-Mobile internet' (My old provider). I've tried all sorts of settings but no luck. Anyone know what I can do?
since im not connected to wifi and got no mobile data i always see this message at the top of my screen "Connection Failed: connection unavailable " for every 3 secs or so. i suspect i installed this anti-theft stuff that went hide and i cant see it anywhere anymore. noteven on list of installed applications.
I was using Windows XP Pro 32bit until recently and never had any problems connecting tot he internet with my N8. Recently I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. I can still connect to the internet without any problems, but the problem I have is that the internet is "slow", although I have a 3.5G connection.
I have watched the "status" of my connection and I can see that what happens is that some data will come through, and then nothing will happen for a while, and then some data will go through again. So it's a kind of intermittent connection. This is super annoying, and it's hard to google this problem.
I also have a Nokia N82 and that doesn't give me the same problem, but i don't want to swap my simcard each time I want to use the internet.
I bought my x6 today, and thought it was a great little phone. I haven't had any of the usb problems that people have, but it just insists on connecting to the internet.I set the phone to receive my emails on a whim and mostly for the novelty, and about 5 minutes after closing it, I noticed it was still connected. I tried exiting it through all the various different menu screens, but it wouldn't go away. Eventually, I deleted the mailbox, but it was still connected. I then took to holding the hang up button to make it disconnect, which I thought was a success, only to find out it's connected its self again a minute later.I'm on t-mobile, and it's connecting to the packet data "T-mobile internet" access point, or at least the little 3G icon is always up.I've just tried setting it to "always ask", and it does it any wa
I am changing networks and installed my new Vectone SIM. I needed to send a TXT to setup the internet. It changed some settings on my phone and gave me the options to make these settings the defaults which I foolishly said YES to.Previously I could connect to the internet via WIFI or 3G (it gave me the option before hand) however now it likes to force me to use the new 3G service (even with my old SIM fitted).I managed to get my old settings back, but they keep changing back when I turn the phone off or leaving the house.I also don't seam to be able to have WIFI and new 3G option menu.
