After few months of using phone, more and more files are becoming corrupted...
my phone: Nokia 5800
firmware: 50.0.005
code: 0573860
memory card: original micro SD - Nokia 8GB class6
After few months of using phone, more and more files are becoming corrupted. It's mean your videos, your audio files and maps is no more usable. After formating memory card works everything OK, but only for while (few weeks or months). What I should to do? Still do memory card formats, or try to buy new memory card?Anyway my girlfriend has the same phone and she has the same problem. So its mean, probably all nokia 5800s has this BUG.Why nokia is not able to make one good phone model without bugs?
Have a new Nokia 5230 the Maps application was working fine and now get this on the PC Ovi. Cannot find maps or voice guidance on your device. This is due to either of the following reasons:Your device does not support the Nokia Maps application. The maps and voice guidance files are corrupted Ok then went to help and deleted the files as advised.
If you see a notification in Nokia Ovi Suite Maps that your device's maps or voice guidance files may have been corrupted, switch the device's USB mode to the mass storage USB mode. Then, from your device's memory card, look for a folder named Cities and a file named qf, and delete them. After that, switch back to the PC Suite USB mode. Refer to the user guide of your device for more detailed information on selecting or changing the USB mode.
I have 8 applications on my Nokia N97 Mini that I cannot delete. When I click on them the file just flashes, and when i try to delete them the phone says it cant as they are a "corrupted file".I tried, soft reset, hard reset (factory reset) and it doesn't help, the files are still there! All I can do with them is move them around different folders. Also when using application manager it doesn't find them, so I cant even delete using that! Please can someone help?
The music player on C7 is not working. The error message says " Files corrupted, Operation cancelled". I removed all music files and reloaded. There is no issue with the music files as they play from file manager.
My Nokia 5800 memory card sometimes goes rogue and i cant access my music player and says my files are corrupted. The problem is i can view my images and i can access the music via file manager.
Lately, I've been getting a fair number of corrupted DNG files in my Lumia 1020 - I mean, I guess they're corrupted, since when I import them to Lightroom, the program states it can't open or edit them.
Curiously, the 5 mpx are fine.. When I check the size of the DNGs, I can see that they have, exactly, 1 byte less, in size, than the DNGs that Lightroom can edit.
I bought a new xperia x8 few days a go. But i am having an issue with the built in memory card of the phone. When I tried to copy some music tracks to the sd card, about 75% of the tracks are corrupted after copying.I have tried with differnt mp3 files and most of them are not played after copied to the SD card.I believe this is a problem in the SD card, not in the phone. Will the poblem solve if i format the SD card? But there are some predefined folders inside the SD card and some of them are related with different applications of andriod OS. Is it ok to take a copy of this folders and paste it later In case, if i formatted the SD card?
Ok so everytime I move files over from my internal storage to my sd card on my galaxy s5 they become corruped. This is my 3rd memory card I have purchased so it's not that. I am even using an official samsung 64gb micro sd card uhs-1 class 10. When the video clips are saved on the device they play fine. So I copied them over to my sd card using the my files folder on the phone and "moved" them and "copied" them over. At first the files play fine but then when I go back later to play them some of them pop up as unable to play video and are corrupted. I googled the issue and I'm not the only one having this problem but I haven't found a resolution either.
I inserted the M2 card into the card reader, copied a few files and then took off the reader and put it back on the cell phone. Now, it wouldn't get the card. Again put it on the card reader, clicking on it, says that: Do you want to format? What to do to recover my files in it?
have a BB 9300 curve an downloaded music files to the music folder. Everything played and was working fine.I then uploaded and deleted some music files through the bb pc software via the usb cable. Now everything seems corrupted and none works properly. The files are in the play list, but I can't play or delete them. The main screen also shows that there are 12 songs in the library, but there are only 8 (of which none work)
I started a backup of my N5800 over an hour ago. It finished "user files from phone memory", contacts, calendar, notes, messages, bookmarks in about 10 minutes. Then it started on "phone model-specific backup" (at 50% of the big progress bar). And hasn't progressed a pixel since then.I got fed up with watching "do not use or disconnect the phone during the operating", so I clicked "cancel". Then it asks me if I really want to cancel. I can then click the checkmark (green) and not hte red cross, and now 5 minutes later, it has not stopped. It is still at 50%, doing "phone model-specific backup". How long should I wait for it to backup my N5800? How long should I wait for the "cancel backup" button to react? 5 minutes seems that it should be possible for an operation to cancel. I'm a bit unfamilar with Windows. I'm a Linux user, so I may be a bit spoiled in that I expect a progress bar to update more than once an hour, or that a cancel button should work within 5 minutes.
Recently my Nokia 5800 has had problems connecting to my computer through Mass Storage option. Will connect no problem through PC Suite but not as a USB Mass storage.Have re-downloaded the drivers and installed them again and still same problem.
I exported all the messgaes from my nokia5800 into a csv file using nokia ovi suite. Then i deleted all the messages from my mobile and again imported the messages.all the messges were imported to nokia ovi suite and then i synced ovi suite to mobile. But nothing happened.
I've always connected my nokia xpress music to the internet. But one day it didn't work, I didn't touch nothing. When I connect to a wireless its says nothing and the icon shows that it is connected, but in Truth its connected to none. And when I try to reconnect it it says close the active connection and when I try to do that it says that I'm not connected. And when I do this after a minute or 2 my phone turns off!
I'm a very happy owner of the world's worst mobile - Nokia 5800 - a smart phone with absolutely no reliability. So far it has helped me so much that, if I had my pockets full of pencils, I could eventually substitute them for the Nokia. Here are some simple everyday situations where the frustration of having a nokia kicks in really fast.
Few days ago: Situation: Must go from A to B by train. Problem: Don't know when train comes. Solution: Nokia 5800 web browser, train time table site. Obstacle: "Memory Full. Please go and jump out of your window" Solution II: Not using Nokia.
Two days ago: Situation: Three electricity counter readings must be submitted. Problem: No paper and no pen in pockets, only Nokia. Solution: Take a photo, simple as that. Obstacle: Tried to view the photo, but the media button randomly didn't work. Restarted and it works again. Now why would a media button randomly stop working?? Obstacle II: Phone is restarting for ages. Solution II: Not using Nokia. Use -- paper!!, simple as that.
Some time ago: Situation: Need to know what time is it. Problem: No watch on my hand, only Nokia in pocket. Solution: Unlock the keypad and see what time is it. Obstacle: On sliding the touch lock the screen goes black and the phone starts to vibrate and does not stop, making me embarrassed to the people standing by, because now I have vibrating **bleep** in my hands!!!! Solution II: Take out the battery, consider putting the phone in the trashbin, not using Nokia. Ask what time is to the old lady while Nokia restarts as the old lady crosses the WHOLE COUNTRY!!
Not so long ago: Situation: Must make an important phone call. Problem: People don't make phone calls by brainwaves, now do they? Obstacle:Made the phonecall, said "Hello" and <zappp>, no more phonecall, the phone randomly restarts. Now it never had been so bold before this.!! I thought it has a phone call protection against rebooting during a phonecall, but NOOOOO, it of course doesn't wooork. Solution II:Not use Nokia.
Yesterday: Situation: Insurance company must have sent me an invoice. Problem: Out of curiosity can't resist checking email while mobile. Solution: Open e-mail account, press the Connect button. Obstacle: The Connect button does not respond. Solution II: Press it harder, TWICE!!!! Obstacle: The screen fades out and the phone restarts. Solution III: Not use Nokia.
Before a week: Situation: Must find an address I don't know, and reach it. Problem: Don't know where it is. Solution: Use Nokia Maps, oh excuse me, OVI maps. Obstacle: The search returns no results. Now, how can you not find this??? Blahblah street 143 - what's there not to find?? Solution II: Not use Nokia, use Google Maps (definitely not on Nokia). Found it.!!
Long time ago, and guess why long... : Situation: Let's enjoy some great music on this not-nokia-sony-ericsson Bluetooth headset by using the ultra-fabulous NokiaTrashPress XMusicPerience, it's supposed to be great, isn't it? Solution: Pair Headset to Nokia 5800, and turn on the music player. Success!! - it works ow wowowowowowowwowow i'm so freakin' excited. Obstacle: The second track made no sound. Solution II: Check what's wrong. Obstacle II: The media player has shut down by itself. Solution III: Not use Nokia!!!!! And I could write many more of these..Now, I have performed countless hard resets, trying to optimize every little bit. SOO little applications installed!!Symbian platform brings a great idea within itself. But it just doesn't work on Nokia phones..Didn't Nokia invent this Symbian? Then why doesn't it work???And this has been so far my experience with any Nokia Symbian phone regardless of the price, regardless of the market segment, regardless of the phase of the moon. And I am very suspicious that the same is going to be with Symbian^3 5 7 9 whatever...I just don't care anymore...My next cellphone budget goes to either Apple or Windows mobile, Android, HTC or anything else that's not Symbian and not even close to a NOKIA, because Nokia it's just a parody of a cell phone, no wonder why the USA and Japanese market doesn't love Nokia, not just because most of them are very ugly, just because they don't work...
Few hours ago nothing was wrong with my phone. All of a sudden everything on my memory card was Deleted. I didn't know wat exactly happened so I tried to restart the phone, but bothing happened. I tried to remove the battery and put it back again , and still the same and now I have nothing on my phone.
I have a problem with phone music store applications. After i start music store i can't login or go to main page because when i press those buttons i get error "Music store: Unable to perform operation" Tried to do hard reset and update firmware again with no help. FW: 40.0.005. I think this problem came with this new V40 firmware or shortly after that when i lost email notification from shortcut homescreen.
due to several reasons it seems that I need to format my N5800 XM existing memory card but I have installed quite a lot of applications so recreating them would be quite a pain. The question is: is it possible to do a complete backup from the Nokia Ovi Suite program, format the memory card and then _restore_ all contents including memory card contents so it will be exactly as before?
I have just got my N5800 but one thing is driving me crazy - it randomly makes a "ching ching" noise and its very irritating - its just done it twice while I am typing this up. Is there some application that I have got open (ie checked and cant see any) or is there some kind of alert that I have forgot to turn off - either way its doing my head in. The alrm function seems to do what ever it wants, so far it will either got off on time or 3 mins late or just not at all - am I missing something ? Surely the alarm function cant be that complicated to set and get right?
my problem is that my phone says Memory card corrupted, when I try to enter to file manager, on Nokia N900, it says memory card format unsupported, well, I'm here ask for your help.
If you ever wondered why you can't install Maps for E75 using the file nokia_maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.2_lm_rom.SIS, which is distributed at: Nokia Europe - Maps - Compatibility & download page, it's because the file is seriously corrupted.
According to SymbianOSv9.x SIS File Format Specification, the first 4 bytes of a SIS file must always be 0x10201A7A. Surprisingly this particular file starts with 0x0055E805 and contains 161 bytes of random data in front of a byte sequence that appears to be the correct identification header. Way to go Nokia! Who knows what else is broken in that file?
I heve a couple of programes that say "file corrupted" when I try to delete them. How does one get rid of them? A hartd reset? Re-install phone software? Also, my phone runs version 10.0.020, no update available apparently. Very strange, this phone was bought the one soled. I thought that all Nordic phones run essentially the same software version.
I accidentally removed my memory card without safely removing it, so what happens, images were broken. When i go to the file manager, there are no images in the photos folder. If i will delete the broken picture, it says, general system error. I tried updating the firmware but still nothing happened
I have some strange kind of problems replying emailsm from my Lumia 800. Sometimes my recepient gets totally corrupted message. It looks somehing like this:
=?utf-8?Q?Check-in_Online_and_Print_Off_your_Boarding_Pass?=MIME-Version: 1.0Content-Type: multipart/alternative;boundary="----=_NextPart_000_0027_01CD463A.A12582D0"This is a multi-part message in MIME format.------=_NextPart_000_0027_01CD463A.A12582D0Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8"Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-

My phone language is set to russian and formats to ukrainian. This is observed on another ukrainian Lumia as well. Both accounts are gmail.
Whenever I try to install any sis. or sisx. files in my phone, I am getting the message-file corrupted, can't be installed. What could be the problem?Nokia E63-1, RM-437, 510.21.010Nokia C5-00.2,RM-745,091.002
I recently got a Nokia 5800 Music phone on contract, I've already had to get an exchange once because the battery was dodgy on it. I'm now having problems with my 8GB memory card, when I put it into the phone it said "Memory Card Corrupted", So I formatted it, as it had said to (lost all my music from it) And now it only shows up as 30MB, **bleep**? Also, when I take pictures and such, they're all showing up as corrupted (since they save straight to memory card) - I called up the company who I've got the contract phone from, and they really weren't any help.
I'm not sure if this is common, but my n97 is running software version 20.2.019. I bought just recently and it was working fine for the first 2 months. Then i started having problems, like the usual resets and lags.
Lately my phone has been resetting more, my music is constantly corrupted, when i do play a podcast or a song it the audio will stop playing but the progress bar says the song is still going. I have also been having issues where when i restart my phone it doesn't recognize mass memory and all my media (photos, music) are gone. Backgrounds back to the original and all my apps on mass memory are gone. I check file manager and I it says memory in use. I also recieve Disk write error, retry or lose data message everytime i'm trying to download something into mass memory.
I don't really know what's going on with my phone, i've done the resets soft and hard and even reformatted my mass memory. I still get all these issues. It sees mass memory after a soft reset but then i turn off the phone and it doesn't detect it again. Is this normal with s60 v5? Or does my phone need to go back to nokia care?
