Nokia Nseries :: Installation Failed For Some Apps From OVI
Nov 17, 2011For some weeks now im getting "installation fails" message when trying to install some of the software from OVI or from downloaded files. For example, Nokia Sleeping Screen. It downloads and the Ovi bar says "installing" then a smaller window appear in the lower section of the screen saying "preparing installation" then "Installing" then after a few seconds "installation Failed. Some apps for example Spotify installs perfectly, but here the bottom window don't appear at all. I have made a full reset, problem remains. I did a 3 finger reset, problem remains.

May 4, 2011I've got a Nokia N8 and wanted to get "weather maps". I already have the Nokia weather application, and the SPB Weather application as well. After looking around on the internet, I found some good information recommending "Weatherbug" for the N8. Info can be found here:[URL] I tried to downloadn and install the program. I got a message that doing so might also require downloading other software that might be up to 12 megs or so. (I guessed this was QT, which I already have from my installation of Nokia Bubbles.) I downloade the sofware, and got a message that I then had to get the first of two downloads. After the download, the installation failed, and I got a message that I should click on an icon for something like "smart install" to continue.Clicking on "Smart Installer ADM" gets me to "Continuing Installation Weather Bug".I need to connect to the internetI so I click on "connect this time". Eventually my phone downloads the first of two software downloads, and then the installation fails. I have to first update "QT" or something?

Feb 13, 2012Started to prepare for installation of the new Belle for my N8-00 but during step 2 of the installation (back up) a red expression mark appears telling me that "there is not enough space on the computer. Minimum requirement is 1,5GB on the e: drive. Please delete or move 0 MB from \e-enheten" (direct translation from Swedish version of Nokia suite, please see attached pic). I successfully made a back up using the common steps earlier today.The issue is that I don't even have an e-drive on my computer. C: is there (of course) then a whole bunch of network drives from my office network (F: ->X but no e: The only e-drive I have is the one on the phone and there I have enough space available.I have the latest version of Nokia suite btw (3.3.86).

Jul 17, 2010I have an N97 since last year the phone is working well have only 1 little problem my phone memory is full but didn't install anything on it installed all applications or games music and videos are on mass memory the only software installed on phone memory are phone platform maps etc. which was already preinstalled when bought phone the problem that I have is when try to update for eg maps the phone says to me "memory full remove some application before make installation" have tried to remove maps from phone but and try to reinstall it on mass memory but didn't get choice to choose between phone memory or mass memory. as I see all Nokia original application are installed on phone don’t have any choice to transfer it no mass memory...therefore when phone memory is full the phone platform is slow to response want to know if someone have a solution for me.

But i have a problem with it ..... the problem that when i download any thing from nokia OVI Store from my mobile like: Games, apps and videos when download finished and starting to install the games or the apps it's say's: "installation failed" and when i redownload it again nothing change and keep saying "installation failed" ........ and i noted that when i install app ( themes, apps and games ) on my mobile by ovi suite or by file manager it also say's to me "Expired Certificat" even if i signed this apps but it alwyas say's "Expired Certificat"....... for this problem i did: hard reset - format my mobile - format my sd card - update my mobile to v40 - but the problem never stops to return in a few hours ..... then i find out that when i need to install any app on my mobile (by ovi suite or ovi store in my mobile or file manager) i have to switch off the mobile and turn it on again to install what ever i want ...... so Plz help me out

Aug 17, 2010Not sure if it has been covered in other threads but I couldn't find any. Will frequent installing and uninstalling apps for trying out leave junk (files and settings) in the iPhone? Like Windows uninstall, it will leave files and registry settings in the system. Over time, the system will run slower with lots of junk in it. Since some apps with expiry date, it must leave something behind to keep track of when it will expire. Besides installing apps on iPhone, any other good way to test drive new apps? I want try out many new apps but also want to leave my new iPhone as "clean" as possible.

Nov 3, 2011My problem started when I tried to make my N8 a bootable pendrive. I needed to make my E: (phone memory) NTFS. I copied everything, formated E: into NTFS and copied all my stuff back again. Thing is that N8 doesn't support NTFS. My apps that were placed on E: stoped working. So I quitted my bootable pendrive idea. I formated E: again using N8 itself, copied stuff back again. I even restored last working phone backup. Aaand my apps still don't work.

Dec 19, 2011Recently I bought a used N8 which has been working as expected until I noticed that it wouldn't install a single app. When I got the phone the previous user had reset the phone to factory settings and in general tried to turn it back to it's original condition. At first all apps installed without problems. The only app I experienced problems with was Nokia Store, which always got stuck on the loading screen and never opened. Now my N8 hasn't been able to install any apps what so ever, especially no .sis or .sisx files. The installation of .sis or .sisx files results in a error message Unable to install (or something similar in english). The newest software of Symbian Anna is installed on the phone. The only app I've been able to install is one with a .wgz ending.I've tried to reset the phone to factory settings again, reset the device with *#7370# code and held the power button for 8 seconds, and my problem persists.
