Dec 28, 2012My Nokia 500 dont show name of contacts in Phone. I tried deduplicated my contacts but I found no duplicated contacts.

Nokia Nseries :: N97 Not Displaying New Text Notifications?
May 19, 2010My 4 day old N97 Mini stopped displaying new text message notifications on the screen and alerting me via a tone or vibration. Before posting I read this forum and other independent forums and did the following:
Checked firmware for phone - was up to date
Checked message tone was active in profiles - was active
Deleted all messages in inbox/drafts/sent - fixed issue had 41 messages total in these 3 folders.
I can't understand this error, I had an iPhone 3G before coming back to Nokia (N97 mini OS served a better purpose) I could store literally 100's of texts and never had a problem, If I can't have more than 40 texts in my folders without the alert turning itself off..Then the phone is useless.
Nokia :: Phone Contacts Not Displaying In 5800
Apr 28, 2010The contacts stored on my phone's memory are not being displayed. If I change the "Contacts to display" option to phone memory and sim memory, or sim memory alone for that matter, it displays all the contacts stored on my sim, however no contacts are displayed when I choose phone memory alone. I have tried copying all my contacts from sim back to the phone and still nothing. It's weird because when I do a memory details check on my phone's memory, it's saying that there are 83 contacts stored. Even if I try to manually add a new contact to the phone memory, it STILL is not showing up in my contacts list. I have had this phone about 5 months now and this problem only occurred about a week ago, before that everything was working just fine.

Jan 6, 2016I have an unlocked US variant S6 SM-G920T with Baseband (G920TUEU3COK1). I have been using it on Tmobile without issues since Cyber Monday.
But now, randomly, when I get a phone call from a contact that is already in the phone, I see the number on the display rather than the contact name. After I either answer or reject or allow to go to voicemail, and then go look at the call log, the contact name is displayed. This is getting annoying as I keep ignoring calls that I would like to take ( and sometimes need to take).
Only thing I've tried is to clear data and clear cache in the contacts app. Phone is not rooted...

May 3, 2014I eventually got my contacts from my old dumb Nokkia into the S5....they seem to appear as Google contacts.
Now...any incoming call...from any of my contacts...it says 'unknown'.
I have played with the app's Merge+ and Contacts+....nope....just will not show the contact name of incoming call. (Just want these contacts to reside IN my phone...just like they nice and simply did in my old Nokia).

BB Bold 9700 :: Displaying Name And Number In Contacts List
Aug 23, 2010For the first time today I could pause on a contact name and it would automatically show the number for that person under the name. I scrolled thru my contacts later and it doesn't do it anymore. I liked that option and would like to "turn it on" if possible. I've had my bold for about 3 mons and it has never done it b4 or again. Just once just today. I'm running os .714 on TMO if that matters or is important.

Aug 29, 2011I got a blackberry two days ago, the newest one, bold 9930 I think it is, it has a touch screen. I have bbm and when I add people or I accept them, I don't see their picture straight away, unless they change it, I see their new one. My picture isn't showing either, I haven't altered with any settings and I have looked through my settings to look if there's one I can choose for them to show but there isn't.

But there is a difference in search option for contacts.The first phone (black in the pic) has normal old fashioned keypad which occupies the whole screen. And the second one (white in the pic) has qwerty keyboard which occupies half the screen.Why is so?I want qwerty in black N8 too.

Dec 23, 2010I just bought a brand the N8 a couple of days ago, and went to change the caller photo on one of my friends, so that I'd see his ugly face when he was calling me. I'm not sure how I messed this up but that now everyone in my phonebook has his face stuck to the background of the call-screen whenever I call someone or receive a call.
I tried to just rename the photo but then when I tried to make a call my phone would deny it. I simply could not make a call from it. How wasted is that?
So I rename the photo, reboot my phone, and I'm still calling everyone with his ugly face stuck to my ear.

Jan 1, 2011Over the last few days I've received text messages from some friends who have new numbers. I saved the numbers to their existing contacts, overwriting the old numbers.
Despite having restarted the phone several times and removing the sim card, whenever I look at my texts, the messages from these numbers only show the number they were sent from, rather than the contact's name.
I have had a look online and it seems that this problem is usually caused by duplicate contacts. I have used the phone's search function to make sure that each number only appears once, and there are also no duplicate contact names.
Some other advice online suggests that the area code could be problematic. I have tried changing the beginning of each number to 0 rather than +44 (and back again) - no difference, I am now at a loss and unable to tell who is texting me without using the search function, which is pretty ridiculous.

Sep 23, 2011im finally have N8, and when i tried to export my contacts file witch is .vcf out of my old nokia 7610 to transfer it to my new N8, the PC Suite wouldn't work with N8, so i downloaded Ovi Suite and its worked fine with N8, but the big problem that when i tried to transfer the contacts files using Ove Suite i found that its must be ends with .nbu extension to be restored and while n8 doesnt work with pc suite, what can do to restore my contacts, help me cuz i feel dead without my contacts file |- i forgot to tell you that i can't copy it on my SIM card then copy it again to my N8 and repeat it till done, i have little problem with the option button with my old phone Nokia 7610

Afterwards, I noticed that there has been some discussion (since 2010) around the issue that notifications in respect of birthdays is not possible from the contact list on this handset (that is without paying and installing a third party app to solve the problem.) My question is then: Why does the contact list even allow for input regarding birthdays? Really what is the purpose of this? Does anybody use this in some way? I do not use the phone's calender and it will be a tiresome exersise to update the odd 232 birthdays manually from my contact list to the calander, to get notifications.
