Has any one out there got the N900 who previously had the N97?Would you recommend it?I do want more of a mobile computer than a phone - I make few calls but do send a fair number of texts.Can anyone also compare to the iPhone (as in have you previously owned the 3GS)

nukea - we will get the perfect device in the end (but not this year!)
How safe is the internet on the n900 ?Would u risk doing something like internet banking as an example?

If outside, I find it very difficult to hear what my clients have said.One fact business people love blackberry is because it has got good call and ringtone volume.N900's ringtone volume is good, but the call volume is just too low. (I have already used the side button to max the call volume, the strange thing is, 50% and 100% make very little difference...)
View 4 Replies View Relatedi realy your help in this one, now i live in Lebanon, and i'm searching for a n900, but the other day my freind told that you can't check for your balance in your phone operartor, is that true, were i live, you need to recharge your phone in before you make phone calls, send messages etc, and to see how much dollars(or what ever its called) you still have in what you have recharged, you need to press *11# and than the green button, and than a message shows up showing you your phone operator balance, is it true that that can't be done on the n900? i like it how i can overclock the n900 from 600 mhz to 1000 mhz in less than 30 sec.

(Real Player).All the clips I play on the device stutter, choke and the player lags whether I play them from the memory card or the phone memory all the same.Anyone has that same problem?Any help greatly appreciated.

1/ good web browsing and mails speed
2/ GPS compass for wikitude drive
3/ playing game as uae4all with good speed
at the start of my search i would absolutly the N900 after seeing lot of but and battery life i go back to another phone and see that best battery life is normal phone with keyboard not with touchscreen so i hesitate beetwen the E75 with big screen and new E72.
Does installing 3rd party applications (applications from sites such as mobile 9) cause any problem to device? i am currently using nokia N79.

However, I have to say, we often suffer "no place founded" when we wanna drive to even a famous car shop. In Nokia Ovi maps, size of Beijing map is only 25M, but in Route66, size is about 60M, which is quite easy for us to find even small place. Nokia should update the maps locally and timely. Nokia China team should take care of China maps to give a better user experience.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am considering buying an E63 - I want a phone with a good Qwerty keyboard so entering data and texts is quick and, most importantly, a pretty easy way of keeping the contacts and calendar synced with Outlook, where data entry is even quicker.
1. will the E63 sync directly or indirectly with Outlook and, if so, how?
2. is the E63 keyboard trioublesome or does it keep on performing well over time?
3. does this phone have any software, reliability or other problems?
i am new user, and just buyed 2-3 days back a new nokia 5530 xpress music, and i am not happy with it, the main problems are
1) earphone problems - the earphones are not good i mean i got the white color earphone still the sound in it is so bad that no bass in it, simple voice with low sound, also buyed a new earphone but same problem. i hate that
2) music player- well the music is very low as compared to samsung corby pro. this is xpress music but has not much sound where else samsung corby pro has more and better sound than us wat the hell.
3) battery problem- well the battery life as told music can be played upto 27 hrs, and talktime 4 hrs, and standby time, huh ( ALL FAKE). i yesterday rechraged my xpress music fully at around 4 pm, and i dint listen to any music, was just msging my friends and talk to someone for around 30 mins and then was just msging and msging and i stoped at around 12 am night, i saw my battery and its almost down i was shocked and suprise that battery only worked for around 8-9 hrs wat the hell grrrrrrrrrr. at 1 am the battery was at 1 point i mean i am so disappointed i felt like kicking the phone out my balcony. and ya when i recharge my battery it recharges in almost 20-25 mins that too full charge i mean i dont understand y is it happening like that

i found out that the position sensor of my Nokia doesnt work good.For example Raging Thunder if i want to play and put my Phone on the Table before, the car drive more to left but it must drive forward. I heard that other people with Nokia 5800 have the same problem, but not all.Why i cant calibrate the sensor?

Nokia N78 is said to support A2DP Bluetooth connection but how can I turn on the A2DP Bluetooth connection? Can anyone help me?I have no problem pairing and connecting my N78 to SONY DRC BT-15 but the sound I hear through the SONY device is definitely not A2DP at all. The sound sucks. When I connect my SONY DRC-BT 15 with my MacBook, I can choose to listen by Mono or Stereo Mode, and when I choose the Stereo Mode(I guess it's what we call A2DP), the sound through the SONY device is good.So how can make the SONY headset to connect to N78 via A2DP to listen to good music?
I am about to leave switch back to AT&T from Verizon on a GoPhone/PYP basis or perhaps T-Mobile in the same contract mode. Have been using a Voyager which is a competent device but has never been as good as I thought it would be. The screens are too small as is the keyboard, the OS isnt great and got over the wonders of touch screen in a hurry. I want a phone with larger qwerty buttons, and a larger screen, good battery life, and great reception. I am not a techy, don't need the latest and greatest, and don't want to spend a lot of money. At this point that leaves me with 3 choices: the e63, the e62, the e90, or the 9300. The e63 should be the no brainer as it is feature rich and modern at an amazing price but the keys are too small as is the screen. The e62 appears to have larger keys and a larger screen and can be had on e-bay for a $60. I have heard that the OS is sluggish but I am not a heavy user and am patient so thats not a dealbreaker. The 9300 is almost prehistoric and heavy and yet it can be bought brand new for $100 and in return I get a solid phone, great battery life, great reception, as well as a spacious qwerty keyboard and a large screen (dont need camera and can live w/o wifi). The e90 appears to be the dream phone but its really expensive, used ebay guessing at more or less than $350. I am not gonna spend that kind of money. I am not a data user, dont need the latest and greatest OS, am partial to Nokia because of reception concerns. Any feedback/insight will be appreciated.

I'd really like to know if there is a way that the low rez camera that would normally be used for video calls, can also be used as a webcam when I'm Skyping to my friends? Honestly I don't even know how to use...or even discovered all the functions of this awesome smart phone. So...for the time being, here are my 3 inquiries: 1. But I heard Nokia has had problems withe the lennex operating system. I was told to hold off that Nokia has a totally new phone that will be introduced mid summer 2010 with a new operating system that will put Nokia back on top over iphone ect ect.

I need a phone with a good battery (I am traveling a lot of time), I need connectivity, but also multimedia (video and music), but must of all I need a very good organizer. I can not afford a phone with so much problems and I don't have time to debug it!
So, I have to choose from these models: N900, N97, N97 mini, E72, BB 9700 Bold and IP 3GS. I know that you are not fans of BB and IP, but because I am a lot in the airplane, I need the multimedia and entertainment from 3GS and the office from BB.
i just bought an n900 and waiting for it to be delivered, it's second hand and i gather that some n900s don't accept all 3 sims but there was an update for it so now it does, is that right? if mine isn't accepted how do i update it given that it doesn't work with ovi or pc suite?

Im used to my N95 doing it no problemthe whole phone seems unfinished - a half assed job and im reading posts from people with the same issues saying "nokia is going to bring out a PC suite for the n900 that will work" and "OVI will be working soon" that date back to February
I also fully charged it overnight its been on for 4 hours and the battery is nearly flat and I have only plugged in the mini USB thingo 3 times and the input socket is really loose.No EQ on the music player?? and no ability to edit the track names/artists in the menu.The N95 not only had EQ but stereo widening and other cool features - What a step down.i can't believe it - it almost 100% useless
I have all my contacts in Nokia x6. I also did sync with OVI site. I would like to get the contacts either from the x6 or from OVI site into my phone N900. How can I get them? I did use phone switch application from N95 to x6. Don't know how to do for N900.
