Nokia :: E63 / Sync Calendar And Contacts With Outlook / How Good Is The Keyboard?
Jan 5, 2010
I am considering buying an E63 - I want a phone with a good Qwerty keyboard so entering data and texts is quick and, most importantly, a pretty easy way of keeping the contacts and calendar synced with Outlook, where data entry is even quicker.
1. will the E63 sync directly or indirectly with Outlook and, if so, how?
2. is the E63 keyboard trioublesome or does it keep on performing well over time?
3. does this phone have any software, reliability or other problems?
I synced a google calendar with my torch but now I am unable to sync my outlook contacts and calendar. The outlook stuff is more important and I would like to remove the Google info but it has set itself as my default service on my device. How to get rid of google?
I am trying to sync my bold 9000 with my calender and contacts in outlook, had success with the calender but contacts don't show up in the address book. The heading in the address book is business-is that my problem or are the contacts located somewhere else.
This error is encountered when ever I have the calander sync turned on. If it turn off the calander sync option then I have no problem with the contacts sync.I have been searching forums for this error and I found 1 that referenced the fact that if I had put any attachments in the Outlook calander such as meeting notes or PDF's that the Blueberry wouldn't sync. Is this true? I have many files attached to calendar dates.
syncing of outlook 2003 with the SGS2.I am using Outlook 2003 and am about to get a SGS2 and need to sync the contacts and calendar is there a way of doing this directly from PC to phone without Google or servers and stuff?
My question is about how to sync outlook (not on a bbserver) to my new tour. I have it all set up, and i did the original sync for the calendar, contacts, and tasks. It all worked great.
Now, how do i have any changes to appointments, additions or deletions show up immediately on by blackberry? I can keep it plugged into my computer during the day. I realize that it won't update anything remotely for the calendar and contacts. For example, during the day if i add new appointments or contacts to my outlook calendar, how can i set it up so that it automatically adds it to my blackberry so that i don't have to do another full sync each time i make a change or addition.
Also, since my email is currently a POP3 account, will it synchronize with the servers when i read mail or delete it from my computer or will it always show up as unread mail on my blackberry and vice versa?
i have just obtained my new 8300 and loaded the desktop manager to perform the syn with outlook. i realized that once this was completed the sync with Notes calendar and contacts was with the exchage email address. I subsequently deleted the exchange email from outlook uninstalled desktop manager and reinsatlled it to not sync with my hotmail details.
When i now try to perform and configure the synce to contacts notes ect im able to proceed thoughout the process antil i click finish when i get the following error message. Run Time Error. Folder is no longer part of the system data source or folder could not be found. how to solve this issue as im desperatley trying to load my contacts onto my BB from hotmail
Just got an iPhone 3G.I have a Gmail account,IMAP enabled. Emails going to Outlook on my PC and my phone. Getting my emails regularly now.I want to sync with my PC's, Outlook - Contacts and Calendar and maybe ToDo List.
I don't want to use itunes to manage this. Can I use an itunes alternative to manage my media and a different 3rd party app to sync to my Outlook?
until recently i was using my storm on an exchange account and everything was working fine. I have recently moved back to normal mail and wiped the device to start a fresh. When i was changing my email it coincided with my timed windows re-install so all was good. After i installed outlook and DM i can sync contacts tasks and memos, but not calendar, when i hit sync it shows that its doing contacts tasks and memos but says nothing about calendar. Its really important that i have my calendar on the phone as i tend to be out of the office quite a bit.The only way i have this working at mo is to have outlook sync with google and BB to sync with google but its not ideal as having to use thirdparty for something that its supposed to do out of the box
I've just got my first ever BlackBerry (the Storm) and this is my first post on the forums. I've read around a lot and found bits and pieces to this problem but no definative answer (that I could understand). So, I know that this is a tricky subject but really hope someone can help. For info, I am using Windows Vista and Outlook 2003 with Outlook connector synching my mail, contacts and calendar to my Windows Live Hotmail account.I have installed V.4.7 of the Desktop Manager software and gone through Configure>Synchronization and selected Outlook for Contacts. The wizard all seems to work OK but then when I press 'Finish' I get the error message 'Folder is no longer part of the system data source or the folder couldnot be found'. I partially understand the concept that my Contacts aren't actually within Outlook, they are in my hotmail/live account. My question is how do I get around this and import my contacts to the BlackBerry? Will it accept an exported .pst file or can it link directly to hotmail?I found (from advice on the forum) that if you go into Outlook and adjust your E-mail account settings to deliver incoming emails to 'Personal Folder' instead of '***@hotmail.co.uk' then it gets past the error message, however, I found there is no calendar or contact data in my outlook personal folders for the BlackBerry to sync with once I've done this.I'll try to make some enquiries on a Microsoft forum about the functionality between Outlook and Hotmail to see if there is an easy way to get my data across into the personal folders so that the BlackBerry can sync it from there. I'm concerned about losing emails or functionalitly from Outlook Connector on my PC as a result of changing the default mail folder.Sorry for the length of the email but figured the more detail the better - thanks in advance for any help you can offer,
I have a new PC and want to sync all my tunes, contacts, calender and notes from my iphone into the new PC.I want to synce the notes and calender with outlook and the contact with windows contacts. Do a need some software to do this?
I am using Nokia X6-00 16GB version in India and started using Outlook recently. Recently i got some meeting requests in my mail and they are present n Outlook calendar. I want them to be syncronised to my Phone's calendar.
My phone's calendar events are going into Outlook but not the other way...
I deleted my personal contacts category in MS outlook. When I sync my 8330 outlook wants to delete my personal entries in my blackberry contacts. I used devise overwrites outlook in the conflicts panel but I keep getting the same message. I am afraid to accept the chages as I don't want to lose my blackberry personal contacts. I am using v126.96.36.199 software and v4.7 desktop .
I want to sync (through Ovi) my calendar with my E71. Everything worked fine until I changed my calendar setup in Outlook 2007. I am not using a Calendar with a different tab name and my default calendar is empty. The calendar on the E71 is now also empty as I takes the input from the default calendar. It is there way to sync with a non default calendar in outlook (I understand that multiple calendars is not supported anyway)
Outlook calendar is correct but when I sync it to E71 through PC Suite appointments are one our forward. I'm in Western Australia where we no longer have daylight savings. What to know how to fix the phone entries as when I try to fix recurring entries on phone it comes up with "system error!"
I have a Blackberry user who sync'd his Outlook Calendar (using the future appointments only option) last week, then discovered that afterwards his Blackberry showed all apointments just fine, but his Outlook has mysteriously stopped showing all apointments from that date FORWARD. These were appointments, both recurring and non-recurring, that were in the calendar prior to the sync. New appointments can be added to either the Outlook or Blackberry calendar, and the sync will transfer them fine. It's just the previously entered appointments that are missing. Previously entered appointments OLDER than the sync date are just fine.
I've tried forcing the Blackberry to sync back to Outlook thinking the appointments had been deleted, but it says there are no appointments diffferent on the Blackberry than on Outlook, which leads me to believe that the appointments still exist on Outlook but they are just no viewable.
I try to sync my N95 to my computer's outlook it produce an error:Microsoft Outlook.PC Sync was unable to locate your Outlook message store.
Possible Solution Your Outlook message store might have been moved. Please re-select your Outlook profile and required folders. How can i fix this? I kind of mess up on my outlook's backup file, but i have outlook fix now. I try to reinstall outlook and PC suit, but it did not work
Brilliant phone, everything I need, a bit of a learning curve but as a business alternative to the Blackberry and Iphone I cant think of much else I'd need, and at £10-£10 a month cheaper it's got to be a worthy contender up against the other two if you can do without the fancy bells and whistles which I dont need
However I need to import a load of contacts from an excel file and Outlook, and I'm struggling to find out how to do this, can anyone put me in the right direction?
Also I'd like to use it with an external keyboard for those times when I'm in a hotel and some more lengthy emails to send, the onboard keyboard is very good, but fiddly for extensive use.
Also is there a headset with single earpiece and mouthpiece? My kids use a similar device on their x-box, it'd be useful where I have to make a succession of phone calls, the supplied headset is basic and I dont like the two little earpieces for extended work
Also can anyone recommend a basic CRM for the E72, I think the range of apps is very limited and if this is going to challenge the BB I think some more business orientated apps, not necessarily complicated, but Nokia recommended would be really useful. I've seen some CRM's suitable for the E series but no idea how good/bad they are, there seems to be very little user-reviews on them.
I have a 5800 XM and Outlook 2007.I can sync the other folders but not the calendar. I have tried various settings for the date ranges and deleted recurring appointment. When I de-select the calendar everything is fine, but I get no joy when I reselect the calendar.I have previously used PC Sync (for many years) and this is the first error I have encountered. I have just changed my PC (Vista 64), but everything else seems to work fine. Back up, music transfer, contacts, bookmarks, notes and phone browsing. All done via cable and bluetooth. My thoughts were that it might be something to do with the time zone. The phone says GMT+1 the system says GMT adjusted for daylight saving. Both show the automatically adjusted time correctly.
I just bought a new E71x (firmware 3.27). I'm using PC suite 188.8.131.52 to sync with Outlook 2007 SP2. I have the Sync setup configured for Calendar/To-do and Contact Items. The sync operation correctly copies all of the contact information, but none of the calendar information. The sync report gives the correct number of updates for the contacts, but provides no information about why none of the calendar data is being sync'ed. Has anyone dealt with this or a similar problem?
I am looking at getting my first PDA/Phone, and the Pearl is one of the options I am considering. I have searched thru this forum, but still have a couple of questions:
Note: I have never used Blackberry products, so I am truly ingnorant as to what the software package has to offer and it's capabilities.
1.Is it possible to Synch an Outlook clone calendar to the Blackberry PIM Calendar program? The calendar I use, CalendarScope, uses the same program as Outlook to synch to Palm or Windows Mobile, so will it work with Blackberry?
2.Is it possible to view MS Word or Excel documents on a Blackberry?
There are the last two hurdles before I committ to the Pearl, so I appreciate any assistance/information anyone can provide.
Samsung SGH-t749 using New PC Studio ver. 1.2.0 IEC. When I try to sync Outlook Calendar with the phone calendar it runs out of memory. I don't know if it is using the internal mem., but I don't see a way to direct it to use the SD card. It also mentions that it is getting email info from Outlook. Does this mean that it is also syncing the address book? I only want to keep the calendar on the phone synced. Anyone have any input?
