View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is the second 710 that have the same issue. The back cover around power button is starting getting loose after a week or 2 of usage. If I push the area slightly with my finger, it makes light noise. It is fatal problem but very annoying. The reason might be the plastic cover is not strong enough to stick to the phone body.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHow does the N8 pick up cover art for the mp3?, I have a library of full albums in tradition folder structures with complete id tags and cover art fetched online through Amarok. When I copy the albums over, most of them show up with no cover art. Only the random few will have it. I am trying to figure out why so I can make them all work the way it prefers.
View 18 Replies View RelatedI posted the following at http://howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1616020. Discussion starts at post #16 in this thread.
============
some of us want a phone that has clear conversations, others want seamless bluetooth integration, even others want powerful web browsing and in my case, i want nokia to restore the music player interface regarding the back button to be restored to the way it was pre-v20.
as far as i can gather from the short time i've been on howardforums, it seems like this is as good a place to express frustrations about such items as these, wouldn't you say?
now, i do appreciate the input of those who suggested that this may have to do with having the mp widget on the main screen. i tried it and it definitely still happens even if i remove the mp widget and go from the music player icon.
So now the sequence is:
1. start music player -> get to music menu
2. choose music library
3. select artists (as an example)
4. scroll to the chose artist - so if you have 50 artists and looking for rick astley you have to kinetic a few times up and down before finding him
5. now you have to choose an album -- out of the 15 you may have of him -- more scrolling
6. now you have to scroll through the songs
7. pick song #12 let's say
So far so good, you're rick rolling yourself away to Never Gonna Give You Up and get out to the main menu somehow so you can do other things.
Now you decide that that was awesome but you want to hear Together Forever on his same Greatest Hits album. You'd think that going to the Now Playing screen, you could somehow just back out and get to the last list of songs -- Like on any other mp3 player I know. I've never used an iPhone but I bet you that's what you get on an iPhone.
Nope, Nokia decided that what you want is to browse your entire catalog again. So you have a choice from the Now Playing screen: either you get the menu and choose Go To Music Library and start from step #3 above or you have to start from #1 just to get to the same fricking list you *are* already on.
N97 v12 did not do this, the N95 did not do this, the N82 did not do this, the N900 does not do this (actually the N900 has the song list on the now playing screen which is nice) so who the f*ck at Nokia decided this was a great "improvement" that they needed to put in and then needed to keep?
So I understand that to some of you guys this is not a big deal. Good on you. It does not mean that it's not a problem so please spare us the give me a breaks and the what's the big deal. Some of the issues you find incredibly important might not resonate with others. It certainly does not mean it's not important to you does it?

I have mistakenly cleared the download panel on my Torch 9860. How do I get the icons for my downloads back to the panel?
View 8 Replies View RelatedThe music player controls keep coming up on the lock screen. I am never using the music player but after some time, the controls start appearing on the lock screen.
I have installed the "stop the music" app and that removes the controls, but they keep re-appearing. A reboot of the phone also doesn't help.
After changing something in the settings and exiting the menu, it still remains active (has the green circle). If I try to go into the settings menu again the screen is blank, the options and exit buttons are at the buttom but the list of options is empty.I tried a hard reset and the same thing happens . Is this a known bug?

A couple of visits to Nokia Care, Nokia Priority Dealers, emails and calls to Nokia Careline, and I have not had a single word of assurance or assistance from anyone!
Comments like - "Please be informed that these are not highly consumable items, hence; the stocks may not be readily available." and "You may kindly note that this phone is not under production and hence we are unable to guarantee the availability of panels for this phone." are not acceptable for a product that was launched into the market not more than 2.5 years back!
Inability to provide aftersales support to it's own products is a big minus and a shame for Nokia, a company that claims to be worlds largest manufacturer of mobile telephones with sales in more than 150 countries!
If I do not receive a resolution to my problem I will definitely not invest in future to buy products of a company that was not able to provide me with spare parts for a product I had spent quite an amount to buy. And I will also warn about my experience to every person I meet who dreams to buy a Nokia product.
I got a bumper but I like a bit more bulk in my phone (3g/s with incase was PERFECT). I would also prefer something to cover the back.

I found (looking from both PC-suite and via phone's application manager) that I had new installs of Fr0MA_0x2000E2FC, the Fr0MA_installer, MDM_Client, Media DS Plugin, MMS DS Plugin, PIPS Installer, etc. Never saw them earlier.
These are new to me, but web searches show they can be associated with digital rights. However, given potential power of the Apps from a remote site I was worried.
1. If I remove them is there any risk to phone use (i.e., if needed can I reinstall them).
2. Where are they likely to have recently appeared from (another app's support, malware, T-mobile or Nokia).
When I turn on my Samsung Galaxy S5 a message comes up telling me to check the rear cover is sealed properly before use. I've checked it & it seems well sealed but the message still appears.

View 1 Replies View Relatedwell iPhone 4 backs are extremely easy to take off, unlike previous iphones where you basically need to dissassemble the entire phone starting with the screen, and void warranty to get to the back, the iPhone 4 back comes off by just unscrewing the 2 bottom screws. also Its possible to replace the back cover without voiding warranty, or leaving any evidence it was ever replaced.
If iphone 4s had the capacity laser etched on the back, apple employees would just look at the back of the iPhone to see capacity to know what capacity iPhone they should replace it with (i have seen them do this). Even if they go into settings to check something else, there is still a chance they will not look or forget to look at the capacity in the about section. If the iPhone 4 had the capacity etched on the back cover, a person could have just replaced his 16GB iphone's back cover with a 32GB one bought off ebay or something, ask for a replacement for whatever reason, and there could have been a good chance the "genius" would just look at the back of the phone, see that it is a 32GB unit, and give a 32GB iPhone as a replacement.or they could have decided not to etch the capacity on the back for cosmetic reasons
The back cover does not stay, so the back of the phone is open all the time. I checked and saw the two small clips at the botom conners of the cover are broken. So where can I find a replacement of the cover?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just sold my 3G a couple days ago and picked up a cheap 3GS. I love it so far. The only thing is, is that the back cover is all sratched up and has like 30 dimples on it. So I want to replace it for a new cover but I don't know where I can get it, I tried to search e-bay but all I found is phone cases that go on top of the cover that I want.
Can anyone post up links to where I can get one? It would nice if I could also get a new chrome bezel trim piece too because that's damaged too.
Recently I got a new 'refurbished' Bold 9780 from Vodafone, I wanted to use my holster that I got from the box (the official one) , and whenever I put my blackberry in its fine, but when I take it back out the back cover (battery cover) slips off with it. I'm not sure why this happens, I put it in the correct way and everything. Maybe my case is loose? But I've tested the back cover, its perfectly on and doesn't jiggle about.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe back cover of the Droid 4 can fool you -- it looks like a typical slide-down-with-pressure-to-remove cover. But there's a trick. There's a small pinhole on the black panel at the top rear, where the camera lens and flash are located, just to the right of "HD 1080P." That's the lock. If you insert a pin or other small object into that hole, it releases the back cover and it slides right off.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI purchased the $100 per year additional storage, however, upon purchasing it, my phone has still not upgraded to the additional storage and will not allow me to take anymore pics; it says go to settings & upgrade storage, I did that already, but it is still reading the old 5 storage bites. I do not know what else to do! I tried to reboot my phone, that did not work, after rebooting I thought perhaps if hooked it up to my laptop and tried to sync it that might help, it says itunes cannot sync due to not having enough storage, go to settings to upgrade storage.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI had kept my phone (5530 XM) in my pocket, where I had some keys. Apparently, a key has pressed on the screen making a scratch. My phone had no protective film at that time. My question is if the scratch is produced on the LCD display or on some cover that protects the display. In the service of Nokia, will they make me replace all the expensive LCD display, or just the cover that protects it?
The LCD is not damaged and the touchscreen works well, but the scratch on the screen is a bit annoying
I have bought a nokia N86 for about 2 months, but one time the handset dropped on the ground and the outer cover got broken. I went to ask for a spare part but I found it expensive. What made me hesitating is that someone told me that the preinstalled cover is much better than the one I buy from the nokia care service. Is that right? Shall I go and replace my cover or just stick with my cover?
