View 5 RepliesNext to my battery icon on my iPhone 4 I now have the padlock sign with an arrow circling it. What is this? What does it mean?

iPhone 4, iOS 5.0.1
Yesterday I've noticed one strange icon on my home/start screen that wasn't there before. It's right next to my alarm icon and it looks like space which have up arrow above it. (just like combined space and shift symbols on keypad) What does it stand for? Should it be there, and how to turn that off?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had the N900 for a week now. And after a software update my battery life indicator is acting strange. It would stay on full until the last few minutes when it would crash to about 10% or so and I would get the battery low warnings. Then the phone would shut down a few minutes later. My battery life is about 15 hrs with normal usage.I've installed batterygraph, which shows that battery seems to be behaving properly, i.e a couple of hours of use and its dropped to about 4V from 4.2V, but the strange thing is that it is still showing 100%.Has the update somehow reset what the fully charged voltage should be ?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI did a hard reset on my 1520 and reinstalled Build 10149 after there was a problem, which I solved by doing the reset, but now charging it takes a year and a half to complete (5 hours remaining on 50%) and the charging icon keeps blinking?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhile I have the WiFi (or should it be WLAN?) Icon, there is no sign of anything in Applications. If I click the Icon I get my TalkTalk network described as "known" rather than "Connected". In Connectivity the network is described as "available". In Connectivity Manager there is "no active connection." Am I flapping over nothing or is my battery being eaten up? Oh yes, there is no padlock to the icon when in this condition unlike when connected. Cheers Tim

I recently performed a battery pull to re-establish connection with the local EDGE network, and as expected, all the emails that I received while not in contact with EDGE came flooding in. What also appeared was an icon I've never seen before, an orange envelope with a sort or ribbon encircling it, and it only appears in front of the "Email Messages" icon, not the "Messages" or "SMS and MMS" icons, and is not accompanied by the usual tiny envelope icon with the number next to it that appears on the Home Screen whenever I have new messages. I've emptied out the Email folder, but it's still there.

Anyone ever seen this or know what it is?I'm also wondering if this has anything to do with the sound not working either. I have the profile set to normal, and all calls set to sound and yet when any calls come in, there is no sound at all. I have check all the sound settings and everything is set to have sound, so I have no idea whats going on.Any help would be appreciated.

View 2 Replies View RelatedCan anyone please explain why i have a new 'mini orange envelope' icon with a 'thin swirly line round it' at the bottom of my folder on my 2 x hotmail accounts folders? They used to just be plain envelopes icons. Has something happened that I should be aware of or is something saved? What is this new icon alerting me to? or is this just a creative upgrade?(I auto-upgraded my BB Desktop Software to 6.0.0.40 recently, is this related?)I have always had a 'mini globe' icon at the bottom of my folder for my Gmail account. This has stayed the same. Does it perhaps represent a pop/hotmail account as opposed to a gmail-forwarded account?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo today my Nokia Lumia Icon (Still on 8.0) had the "4 hour bug." This is where the phone gets quite hot and the battery lasts less than 4 hours on idle.
What was interesting to me, though, was after my battery died and I tried charging it, it'd get stuck in a loop.
1)Battery Icon with Red Line showing "Charging."
2)Vibrate
3)Nokia Logo
4)Repeat every 5-10 seconds.
Doing a Soft Reset fixed it (Volume Down + Power for 15 seconds) but I'm still wondering if there's been anything from Nokia or Microsoft about this issue other than "We are aware of it." It's been 10 months since this issue arrived on older devices, and it seems to be a Nokia-wide issue.
So i let my phone die out, then let it charge it showed the icon that it was charging. Eventually the nokia sign was showing but just froze there so i soft reset let it charge for a few hours and it still wont turn on.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe icon O_O keeps appearing on my phone next to the battery status icon. I have no messages, no emails, nothing. It will not go away. What is it and how can I get it to go away. There is nothing in the users manual and nothing on line about this.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an Icon and I have recently updated to Win8.1 DP, I went a day or so shocked at how quickly the battery was dying and then remembered to check for running apps. OUCH! When the update was through most of the apps updated to an 8.1 version, all well and good, except that they all chose to run in the background.
I have since "blocked" most of them from running in the background, but I would like to be able to reset the Battery Saver app so I can trouble shoot which apps are still operating as a battery hog.
Last night I let my battery die. Not on purpose, of course. It was at 4% and I was actually walking over to the charger when I got the goodbye message and the phone shut off. I tried to turn it on, but I just got the low battery sign. I remember this happened on my old phone, so I just let it charge for the night. Unfortunately, when I woke up this morning it still wouldn't turn on. Didn't even get the low battery sign. Soft reset does nothing. Both of my computers did not even recognize that anything was plugged in. The only thing is, last week when I charged my phone I got a message saying something along the lines of your phone is charging slow because you're not using the stock charger.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've downloaded the app tag editor on my old phone and my new Icon. After downloading the app both phones saw a dramatic decrease in battery life. They both decreased from 1 day 15 hours estimated battery life to just 15 hours. I've uninstalled the app and done a soft reset and the problem persists.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had the Icon since the 20th. I have had to re-enter my account info for every account on the Phone (Live, Gmail, and Facebook) every day multiple times a day. It is draining my battery and data by constantly searching or trying to sync. I have done "soft" resets and a full blown reset to factory settings.
View 3 Replies View Relatedmy bb 8110 was working fine, the battery went low and i plugged in the charger, it then shut off and the 'no battery' sign comes on. i took out the battery and re-insert and still the same thing....it has been working with this battery from day one...what is the problem now and what do i do!!!
View 4 Replies View Relatedi have just bought the new 1020. Upgraded it to 8.1 (no Denim yet, however).
I have strange background picture that i can't get rid of. It is some kind of a MS/Nokia ad and is present behind all screens in all apps (it is barely visible when using bright theme), it displays the text: Windows Phone 8 41MP revolutionary camera touch here. Below that text is some undistinguishable graphic:
My wife accidently going through her contacts went to the very top where there's a drop down menu for Phone or Contacts. It went to Contacts. Now whenever she goes to her contacts a message pops up saying Sign In or Sign Up to OVI. She's been on the phone now with Nokia for 2 hours trying to resolve.Anyone out there have any ideas?
And by the way, are other brands of phones this bad, what with setting up loops like this can't be broken. Or, like what I've read here and elsewhere, all the problems with the Lock Code? I mean, it seems Nokia needs to go back to the drawing board and work on their user interface.
My 1520 acts so weird and, honestly, irritating as well.It sometimes touches on its own the search button which in turn brings up Cortana again and again tens of times and sometimes the back button gets clicked without being touched which in turn brings up the open apps list or whatever it's called. It happens so often and when it does, it causes me to seriously consider hitting the phone, although I've waited almost 6 months for it to come.
